There should be a button on the torrent page to request a re-seed. It will send a PM to everyone who has downloaded that torrent in the past. It can take a while for someone to get a message and re-seed if it works at all
I'm using qBittorrent… and I know that my ratio is not good enough.
But I just saw that no torrent is uploading. I just downloaded a popular movie, which I hoped that will be seeding. But nothing happens.
I do use a VPN, but I already switched it off, but still nothing. Also the firewalls I disabled temporarily, still no upload traffic.Is there something I must do?
Are there a lot of active downloaders for the files you are seeding and they can't connect to you or is it that no one is trying to download the files at all?
Disabling your VPN and your firewall should not be necessary and doing so is dangerous, especially for the firewall.
You have uploaded a lot overall, so has anything changed recently?
Your ratio is borderline. It would help not to download anything that's not freeleech until you get your ratio up.

At this point, I would advise you not to send any PMs to anyone requesting them to share videos, since you asked. Seems like you are trying to figure out a way to do what a mod told you not to do and get away with it on a technicality. That is annoying, since you mentioned feeling annoying. If you want particular videos and they're not available here, try looking for them elsewhere. You're starting to come across like a beggar hitting people up for change in the vestibule of the bank branch after hours.

Finally, this process would be a bit of work for an admin. I suggest that the admin handling this should get 100 points per torrent they evaluate for proper images.
The admins and mods are volunteers and already seemed stretched to keep the site functioning and aren't likely to want to take on something like that. I am guessing that they don't need points, anyway. I would imagine they all have excellent ratios, can make torrents freeleech without spending points, etc.
I definitely wasn't disagreeing with you about the need for better documentation of torrent collections and of course asking on the "Who is this? What video is this?" board should NOT be necessary but was just offering a practical alternative to downloading an entire collection to find one video.
There is already a rule requiring a minimal number of photos and on torrents that don't have a lot of photos, members already get points for adding photos. Not sure how many points, though.
Pictures associated with a torrent that have only one video file are obviously from THAT video.
However, pictures associated with a torrent that has multiple files have no indication WHICH of the video files that picture is associated with.
This is a problem because often I have only interest in one picture from a collection posted, but I have no idea WHICH video that picture is associated with. Also, I would rather not download a 200 gig collection when there is only one movie that interests me in that collection.
You don't have to download the entire collection. Most or all torrent clients allow you to choose to download only some of the files in a multiple-file torrent. If you are downloading an entire collection to try to figure out which video a photo goes with, try asking on the "Who is this? There have been several discussions about the problems and disadvantages of collections, especially large ones. You might be interested in looking back through this board for those threads. Your particular complaint is poor documentation of the content in a collection, a frequent issue.

That's what I'm implying from, "If there were a user who has uploaded a lot of torrents from a particular studio and you were to message him requesting a particular video from that studio, that would not be spam.". I was not aware that kind of information was available. Almost all torrents that I see have an anonymous uploader.

So users who have thanked or commented on torrents that are by the same studio is basically what I'm thinking for your question, "What makes you think they are most likely to have the video you want?". For the question of, "Why wouldn't they have already uploaded them?
" well just because you have a video doesn't mean you'll upload it of course. For example, perhaps a user has downloaded the video I want from a torrent that was available on here but that torrent has since been removed from this site. Or maybe that user doesn't have that video downloaded, but is aware of that video existing somewhere online. Or maybe that user was not aware of the exitence of that video and will now purchase the video online to share with me on here. I could come up with other reasons but those are some off the top of my head.
Messaging multiple people looking for particular videos just because they thanked someone in the comments for posting a torrent would be spam because you would be sending the same message to multiple people without any real reason to think they might have and be willing to upload the videos. If someone mentioned in the comments on a torrent that they were adding the video to their treasured collection of that particular type of videos and you asked them to share their videos, that would not be spam. Again, my opinion, and others might disagree.

I don't see a rule against spamming, but the one time I received a spam PM, the spammer was banned. I would think doing something a moderator told you not to do could also get you banned but I don't see an actual rule against that, either. Generally if you are asking if it is okay to do something you're not sure about and the people in charge say not to do it, it's best not to do it. :police:
Title. New to torrenting and trying to get a good ratio. Downloaded 3 torrents and they're all seeding, but almost nothing actually uploads. When they do it's like kb/s. My internet is decent since I can upload stuff to dropbox pretty fast. Is there a setting I can use to make me upload normally? thanks
Sounds like you are uploading normally but there are just not a lot of downloaders and they either don't have fast internet service or else there are a lot of other seeders besides yourself.
The best thing you can do now for your ratio is to stop downloading anything that isn't freeleech and start downloading a torrent or two that have newly been made freeleech so you can seed to others without increasing the amount you've downloaded.
The next best thing is to keep seeding 24/7 or as much as possible because you earn 0.5 seedbonus points an hour whether or not anyone actually downloads from you and you can exchange those points for upload traffic.
I would like to know if its appropriate to be messaging users (lots of users who you think are most likely to have them) in order to find a video you want- especially if you've already made a request topic on it? I'm worried it might be frowned upon as spam or something…thoughts?
In my opinion, it would definitely be spamming to message LOTS of users that way. There is a board for requests for a reason. What makes you think they are most likely to have the video you want? Why wouldn't they have already uploaded them?
If there were a user who has uploaded a lot of torrents from a particular studio and you were to message him requesting a particular video from that studio, that would not be spam. Two or three users, that would not be spam. There's no hard line but if you are messaging someone based on nothing in particular or because they posted on a certain special interest board or if you start messaging more than a few people, especially in a short period of time, that's spam.
Again, that's all my opinion, and others might disagree.
You might want to ask a mod the best way to go about getting the videos you want. Some of them are very helpful.

I would report that unless they all happened within the space of a minute so that it would appear to be an error.
This member uploaded a torrent consisting of one photo which is also the photo used to illustrate the torrent, so there is no need to torrent it, just save it. Why did he upload a one-photo torrent?

I would report it, but it doesn't technically break any rule that I know of and I don't want to piss off the mods or get my download rights suspended for five days. However, it SHOULD be against the rules to find a single photo on a blog somewhere and create a torrent of it just to ask who it is.

Might have something to do with economics. Some studios may only do takedowns of newer videos because fresh content is what drives subscriptions and purchases. They might not care so much about older videos and might even look at them being freely available as helpful. Imagine if a porn studio had zero videos or even photos available on the internet except on their own website: few people would even know about them unless they paid for ads. In my opinion as a porn consumer, free older material is much better than newer videos that suddenly stop just before the first ejaculation and then turn into an advertisement directing one to join a website. Don't waste my time like that!
Studios may also do takedowns only of certain models or the models may ask for takedowns. When a porn studio drops a model, they sometimes take their videos come off their site and probably don't care if they are torrented.
They might also use software or do manual searches that don't use all possible search terms. There are also a lot of misspellings and abbreviations that they might miss.
Some of the studios that apparently ask for takedowns seem to be related to each other in some way.

Transmission sucks. I can't use utorrent anymore, so I've tried your suggestion, but is the thing serious? Downloading one file may be ok, but what if you have folders with multiple files? I've added a torrent and see the folder, but I can't see the files in it. It downloads the whole thing when i only want specific files downloaded at a time.
I can only choose which files to download ONCE when I add the torrent. And even then I can't download one file, and then the second, third and so on. It downloads all the chosen files at the same time.
So if I want to download one file, and then download another one afterwards, I can't just select it like I would normally do with utorrent.
I have to redownload the whole torrent and then it takes some time for the torrent to start and that's very inconvenient.

Then you can choose which files to download from a multi-file torrent. You can't specify a sequence for multiple files but you can change the priority for each file to high or low.
I don't understand the situation you are describing in which you have to "redownload the whole torrent". I have always been able to go back and check off additional files in a multi-file torrent at a later time without any difficulty.
Perhaps you are using the web interface? That may explain some of the issues you report. I use the software installed on a Mac.
As far as obvious advantages, Transmission is open source software and doesn't have ads or a history of third parties bundling it with malware and other security issues like μTorrent. It is unrealistic to expect it to be a replica of other software with the exact same features. Perhaps try exploring the various preference settings and using it for a while before concluding that it "sucks".
Hi, I'm new to the site and am having problems downloading. When I click on the download button on the torrent page the screen goes white and nothing happens. I'm using uTorrent and the download doesn't even register in the client. When I reload the page and try to re-download the torrent, the website has registered that I downloaded then torrent even though I didn't.

Sounds like a known µTorrent problem that has had different causes and solutions over the years. Search the forums there for solutions (such as reinstalling the software) and if those don't work, ask for help there.
I download the torrent files and save them in a folder. Having those torrent files has been very useful several times over the years.
I would appreciate anyone's help right now. I have downloaded files that are compressed RAR files but i cannot open them. I have followed the instructions on this website. Downloaded both WinRAR and Powerarchiver and neither will work for me. It is upsetting since I am only able to download due to my donation. It's against the site rules to upload torrents of any form of compressed video including RAR. If they are video files, PLEASE report the torrent for violating the rules.
Verify the torrent data to make sure you have 100%. RAR files won't usually open unless they are 100% complete.
Usually a folder with multiple RAR files that make up a single video will open in VLC, which is a free, open-source media player. I've used it as my primary video software for years without any issues.

Hmm, interesting. It doesn't seem to be possible. The primary category is the category most frequently assigned by downloaders and it seems that is the only category that affects search.
You can use a regular Google search instead of the site search engine and specify site:gaytorrent.ru as one of the search terms. That often gives better results for me.

It doesn't take nearly as long as you think. You earn 0.5 bonus points for each hour that you seed. If you seed 24/7, that's 12 points per day or 84 points per week. Be patient and don't exchange your first 100 points as they become increasingly more valuable in terms of upload credit when you exchange more points at 200, 350, or 600 points.
I cannot find Wishlist where torrents that you mark with a star go. Am I stupid or what!? Where is it?
There may be another way to access it that I don't know about, but if you go to the search page and do a search with the box for "On wishlist only" checked, the results will be the torrents on your wishlist.
Don't use any search terms but select "including dead" instead of "active" from the pop-up menu to the right of the box for search terms just in case any of the torrents on your wishlist are dead.

Hi guys, has anyone else been having problems with the tracker? I have been getting “offline - timed out” for the last 24 hours on everything. It just sits on “connecting to peers”. Any help would be appreciated.
Everything seems to be okay for me right now. There are frequently problems with the tracker but it sounds like the problems you're having may not be a general issue and that your torrent software or internet connection, firewall, etc. is at fault. Have you made any changes to any software or internet settings? Try contacting a mod through the Help Desk if you are still having problems.
