Let's say bears they are now where we were a couple of centuries ago.

On a general note a mole who observed the mankind from underground couldn't avoid to notice a certain incoordination between very structured you/I and a dispersed, destructured, broken we. Some social insects species could seem much more  efficient since in those dictatorships the dictator generally  asks only to be well-nourished in exchange for the continuity of the society itself without useless frills or illogical sacrifices.
If we had to stand only to the you/me I happen to think even if I was straight I would have individually some problems to kick the chair under the feet of such a cutie pie  :drool: but sadly when we come to the we other things may happen  :pope:

Joking apart there were not at all things we could deem as sexual in the pleasant little games I played with that baby dick. It was one of the many discoveries concerning my body and, believe it or not, I don't even remember t'was a thing I did so often. I remember there were lotsa amusing things to do/make and when I seldom happened to feel bored there was always this opportunity. My problems of course started more or less at 11 together with my puberty. Suddenly my obedient dick had got undisciplined. He did on his own the things I needed my hand to do before. Obviously when I saw some more or less little male friends. How did he dare to do that on his own??!!!!!!! Breach of discipline!!!!  Insubordination!!!!!  :bithfight:

Ok mebbe it is still too early then to consider more advanced kinds of conceptions. Luxuria and Niki too are after all exceptions in a world that could and can still easily revoke these scarce and fragile conquests. Only if you look at a wider historical perspective we could better appreciate the  improvements. Dunno if you had already read this  uni paper which is in the public domain, has 36 years but has still made a very interesting reading for me :).

K Andy. Let's say mine doesn't render as well. In English though, there are many words meaning friendship: (boy)friend, mate, buddy, boo, pal,… and mebbe other ones  I dunno. Then there's another word: acquaintance. Now it seems to me as a personal opinion of course,  in the web the distance between friendship and acquaintance decreases. Did u ever happen to fight with a (boy)friend?

I guess the answer for this is Yes. However, this sounds a bit like "giving up" the fight. I have not given up the fight just changed the way I fight now.

I just no longer have to risk arrest to get the attention needed to address an issue. I spent many days and nights working with Groups that met in secret to plan attacks of various sorts ~ sometimes very public attacks others not so public. But the times called for a more radical approach to issues that were not and would never have been addressed without the radical approach. The political environment has changed and today there are many organizations leading the fight on addressing issues that I support in their efforts to gain political attention necessary to create change.

I guess all I have done is moved from the Front Line of the fight into a more supportive position but the fight continues and will for some time before we reach LGBT equality.

Ok. No because you know bears… seen from outside, Obama's position seems rather ambiguous. Actually in Italy we have politicians like Niki Vendola and Luxuria who are  overtly LGBT and have been elected as such. Even if I'm G like Niki I feel, politically speaking, quite closer to Luxuria who is T.
But of course, at this point, for my comprehension, the quesion should be: is/could it be actually possible accordin to u for a outtathecloset transexual like Luxuria to to be elected to the Congress in the USA as such?

Yes the term radical might be seen as polysemantic. There are political parties which have chosen to name themselves "Radical" in Europe that are not necessarily and exactly the same thing in the different nations. The Italian version has been traditionally a pro gay party since the times I remember of it.
Anyway, since I'm not aware of the existence of an American Radical Party, if we had to use this term in itself without comitting it to anything else, it seems to me the term radical stems from the latin radix meaning root and metaphorically origin, beginning, foundation. If one so was less radical than before, we could think she/he has given up with the search of the foundations cause she/he thinks that someone else is up to go on with the same task. Right?

Indepth of course me neither myr. Moreover all these things didn't take a single day and never worked exactly like a Swiss watch but,  for Italy to keep together with a single currency, we had at least approximately to provide to:

• an unification of the scholastic systems with a common to all the territory compulsory education (doesn't seem to me the case of Europe)
• the institution of a common national army which, during the first 140 years, imposed a compulsory national service for the males which was geographically asymmetrical since the Northern boys were sent  South and the Southern boys North (doesn't seem to me the case of Europe)
• a common national diplomatic structure (doesn't seem to me the case of Europe)
• a national harmonization of the workforce markets with common well defined work contract typologies and retreat plans (doesn't seem to me the case of Europe)
• a national central bank (doesn't seem to me the case of Europe)
• a central government strong enough to direct resources from the richer areas to the poorer ones to avoid economical asymmetrical shocks (doesn't seem to me the case of Europe)

They (the USA) do are heterogeneous yes, but well the effort is not if we can relate but if the countries have the will or interest in union, we put Letonia, Albânia, Spain and Holand together and we have very distant languages, systems, religions … almost everything, so to think there will be a standard to be appleies in terms of this is good for all, well you see the reality happening now it's non productive. And well at least here we get news of north and south Italy wanting to separate, the same with Belgium, and Spain, just like Jugoslavia, and Czechoslovakia did, there are more tensions to separate than unify at least I have that impression.

I agree there are growing tensions to separate myr  and I'd add the euro adoption might worsen/have worsened them.
Administrative separations seem not an evil in themselves and can be made peacefully as the Czechoslovakia case showed.  
Sadly it was not the case of the former Jugoslavia.  
Italy could make an interesting case study for a better understading of our present problems instead  ^-^. Its unification could seem and was publicized by the media of those times as the fulfilment of a very very sexy dream with this romantic eur… ahem hero Giuseppe Garibaldi, a sexy David against a bad,ugly and corrupted Goliath, the Southern king. Sadly, to make such nice dreams, you must fall asleep before, and, aware of that or not, Garibaldi had only realized this "union" as the fulfilment of the imperialist design of the Northern king and his prime minister Camillo Benso count of Cavour. Even the pope (!) had proposed a better plan for an union than this nightmare  :crazy2:. So what happened next in the first years is easy to imagine. We never knew a thing comparable to a Secession war because the resistance of the southern people which went down to history under the name "brigantaggio" had more a tribal and less organized charachter and was anyway suffocated in the blood of 40000 victims. With such a disastrous beginning could you be still surprised if since more than 150 years we still have and speak of a "southern question"?
