I remember watching on TV that both parties were in support of gay marriage prior to the Federal elections... but I did some research after your comment and realized that that plebiscite is still not under way...

Malaysia - Absolutely NOT, as it is a predominantly Muslim country. In fact, like Kenya, "carnal intercourse against the order of nature" is punishable by up to 20 years in jail, and whipping. However, this provision is mainly only used for arbitrary political persecution.

Funny story… In 2010, the Film Censorship Board of Malaysia announced it would only allow depiction of homosexual characters as long as the characters "repent" or die.  :cheesy2: :cheesy2:

Why, though? The quickest route is just to say LET GAYS GET MARRIED. It's less complicated, and it also means an important cultural victory for us. It fixes all 1,001 laws of those little issues in one fell swoop, and ensures that the particularly uptight people in the societies in which we live are forced to adjust to a mainstreaming of us. It basically means that a homophobe's grandchildren are going to understand, a few decades from now, that we are a part of humanity and a certain ratio of gays, lesbians, gender-swapped, yadda yadda individuals in the general population is a NORMAL THING.

Yayyy!! Nicely said… I passionately agree with your line of argument. I never wish to get married, but I think that having the right to marry sends the right message about equality, and blurs the demarcation of gays as 'abnormal'.

In any case, I'm from a Malaysia, a country whereby Islam is the prevalent religion (although atheist myself), and there are anti-LGBT laws that make 70+ acts associated with homosexuality a crime here. I'm doubtful, but I hope that I will live to see the day when arguing for gay marriage is even on the table!

Good luck in your endeavors… look on the bright side of trying to penetrate a niche market, you would have less competition. It's hard being an Asian gay porn star (I'd imagine)... but I'm sure it will be tough for other races too, mainstream or otherwise.

I don't think there is any relation, but being gay did help me to formulate my religious views (I don't believe in a God).

When I was in my teenage years, my catholic church tried to convert me towards the 'Godly path', and knowing that I could never change, I sought science and objectivity as hallmarks to the way I live. At the end of the day, I'm thankful to the church for 'opening my eyes', lol.

Btw, I'm from Malaysia, a Muslim majority country… Religion can be quite divisive (politically & socially) here... I don't like that  :-[
