Skepticism did not just magically appear recently. There have always been skeptics, as long as religion has existed.

But there's no denying the fact that, starting from the dawn of modern international communication, skepticism has increased dramatically. And, certainly, with my generation (Gen X/"Millennials"), who have grown up with very globally-oriented perspectives no doubt thanks to the internet which allows them to freely and openly communicate with literally anyone from anywhere around the world, we have been exposed to a wide diversity of different worldviews (and thereby religions and belief systems) simply as a matter of fact. This has allowed us to see the rest of the world without a religious superiority complex, something that every single generation before us has struggled to do. Simply being exposed to the fact that there are other religions that have actual human followers who are not really any different than us aside from surface-level cultural differences, being made aware of the existence of other belief systems, has led many, many more of today's youth to understand the logical truth that none of them can really be any more "correct" than any other, and thus, instantly debunking the validity of the claims of most religions.

It's hard to believe something that has no basis in reality when you realize that billions of other people believe entirely different things for the exact same reason.

I just think it's funny that Christians (particularly the effervescent body known only as "The Church") keep pretending that they somehow hold a monopoly on the very concept of "marriage", despite the fact that people of all religions (including a lack thereof) and walks of life get married (or whatever their equivalent of "marriage" is) all around the world, with or without their "sanctification".

It's why I truly believe that we need to rip the entire concept of "marriage", at least that which religions want to dogmatize, from the legal status of "marriage". Or just completely abolish the paperwork version of marriage altogether, and replace it with a gender- and number-neutral civil union contract setup which gives precisely all of the same rights that current "marriage" does. I've been saying this for a long time, but it needs to happen if we ever hope to get past this issue, because the religious right will keep stirring it up as long as they continue to exist.

I mean, I don't hate on anyone's preferences, but this thread reads more like a "WHY DOES NO ONE LIKE THE THINGS THAT I LIKE" rant than anything else to me.

Honestly, the penis itself isn't even as much of a factor as the body/facial structure and the personality of the individual. Body hair is also a huge plus, and honestly, the hairier the better (but I do have a borderline fetish when it comes to hirsutism). Also beard/stubble, but they're not mandatory. Tall and broad-shouldered, and a deep voice (preferably at least around my own voice).
