Take stock of your current situation.  Since you don't say what the situation was that you two split, I can only assume that it was a mutual parting of the ways and not a messy breakup.  If this is the case decide if you are still in "love" or just that you don't want to be alone. 
(I am currently going thru the same thing.  Except that I know for a fact that my ex is seeing other people.)  I still love them but I know that they are happier doing their own thing in their own way and that's OK with me.  We are still friends and I occasionally do get hurt by what they do.  I get jealous sometimes as well.  That's all part of life.  You also don't say how long it has been since you broke up.  I'm going to assume it is a recent thing and that is why you feel the way you do with your friend and your ex being out together.  I would also like to point out that they are going out of their way to make sure that you know that they are not romantically involved.  Take that as a good sign.  Give it time.

Your parents are just reacting with fear to something which they have been programmed to fear and which they don't understand.  Human nature dictates that we reject and destroy that which we don't understand and this is further impacted by the religious community which tells us that anything that we don't understand must be a sin.  Forgive your parents, they don't know any better.  I'm glad you have friends who support you and care enough about you to continue their friendships.  Stand strong and be proud of who you are.  Eventually your parents will hopefully realize that you are the same person that you have been all along.

I have to say that it sounds like you still expect something more to come around that corner to complete your life and it's not happening as fast as you would like it to.  That's all well and good but you need to talk about this with a counselor or a professional.  Maybe they can give you some insights into what you might be missing or think that you might be missing.
