There is no legal mechanism in place for a non protestant to be PM, which would cause a "constitutional" crisis situation.

As for the "this isn't America" comment from a civil servant, who cares.  Brits say that all the time when they don't like something someone does.  You can't turn on the tv without something like "it's shit", "then it must be American" every 2 seconds.

Believers in the UK have so much power that they get to use taxpayer money for their exclusive schools, where they can teach young earth creationism and homophobia.  Name me a school in the US that uses tax payer money and gets away with that kind of crap.

Ab Fab to return for a new 3 episode series.  The scripts haven't been written yet, but the filming is already scheduled to start in August.

This is a surprise considering Jennifer Saunders said she was retiring from show business {writing, acting, directing and producing} 2 years ago, but would still do the odd charity event though.

I think they had a rule to remove any gay related stuff that got reported.  Usually it would work because most people don't have their own blog to get the news out.  They only changed their minds because of all the bad publicity they received.

You also have to consider that it's illegal to discriminate in the EU, like this.  So Facebook could have received a huge fine for this or been banned in the EU or possibly both.

A group of gay Labour party supporters were refused service at a pub, for nothing other than being gay.

If you have a strong anti virus, that should have caught it.  All of the main anti virus companies do on-line scanning, just google " free antivirus scan online ".

I agree, it is harassment and bullying.

However, as I pointed out, if he had made similar sorts of comments about any other group, he would have gotten in trouble immediately.

There are legal issues such as DoMA which forbids the US government from recognizing gay relationships.  This means that gay partners/spouses can not get any of the benefits hetero spouses get; ie base housing, free medical care, etc, etc, etc, etc.  They are going to have to work out a large number of issues like that before DADT can be repealed.

Also, Congress has to vote to approve the full repeal of DADT, which they can reject.

This is not a new world view of history by homophobes.  I've been hearing this claim for decades.
