Well, in the UK, you can be an extremely high-up cop, get convicted of kiddie porn, and keep your job. Felony kiddie porn conviction and your only punishment are 200 hours of community service, which you can use your job as those hours.

You can be convicted of felony animal abuse, claim the excuse that you have PTSD and keep your job. The scariest part of this, is that the guy is part of the Armed Response Unit (UK's version of SWAT). He can't control his emotions, but he gets to keep his gun and right to murder people he deems a threat.

England alone (not counting the rest of the UK) has 245 cops that have been convicted of felonies, while employed as a cop, who are still cops.

You can be convicted of felony insurance fraud, an "honesty crime" and still be able to be a cop and testify in court.

You can be convicted of perjury (an "honesty crime") in a criminal case, stay on the force, and give testimony against some that could send them to jail. The jury doesn't get told that the cop giving evidence has already been convicted of perjury. BUT, if a non-cop was to be convicted of perjury and was testifying in court, the jury would be told that they were a convicted liar.

UK police, like most of Europe, give the police and civil servants Absolute Immunity, so they can violate your rights with total impunity. You can't sue them, but you can sue the department they work for. The UK has fixed compensation lawsuits to tiny amounts.

Like when I was handcuffed for cleaning trash from my front yard, despite it not being illegal, the most I could have gotten was £250 but it would have taken about 3 years of nonsense jumping through hoops to get it so it's not worth it. This was back when we were told that we could go no further than to the end of the driveway to put out the trash bins. I was completely within the law, but the dirty pigs criminalized me anyway.
