      Please excuse my ignorance, but where did you read that? I can't find it on our site …

    • RE: Dead torrents forum?

      If a torrent is missing, we have the Requests part of the forum to ask for them.

      If a torrent still listed is not seed, there is a button "Request Re-Seed" at the bottom of the description.

      It will send a re-seed request Private Message to more than 100 last completed downloader.
      (therefore use it with care, only once, else you risk to be reported as spammer)

      As long as the torrent is still listed (last activity < 7 days), you shouldn't post it again. It will be a duplicate. Tow choices:

      1/ either join it re-seeding, especially if there are leecher, it will assure you good upload

      2/ or wait until it is de-listed and you can post it as a "new".

    • RE: Asking For Seed Bonus Gifts

      Two things should be clear:

      1/ Asking for seed bonus points has not to be in the torrent title. There should be studio, movie name and possible other useful information about what the torrent content is only
      2/ No all CAPITAL letters, in the title (except the movie title is all caps, e.g. C.R.A.Z.Z.Y) or description. Single words in caps to emphasize them are allowed (this is a standard netiquette rule)

      A gentle indication in the description that "Thank yous" are appreciated will certainly pass the censorship

      NB.: This is not an official GayTorrent.ru rule or guide, only my personal view

    • RE: Asking For Seed Bonus Gifts

      I think it's just because that we started to regulate that, after the first beggers appeared and complains about it started, so you will be one of the first victims of "no begging" policity.

      At least good manners should avoid anything asking bluntly for bonus points and think to many potential givers of points it has just the opposite effect.

      It is a new function and guides will be established if and as needed.

      Yes, of course. You can say "Thank you" and give points away to any torrent listed.

    • RE: NEW feature: seed bonus gift!!!

      You can't trade them, but it is possible to give them away as thank you for an uploader of a torrent.
      Look to the new box behind the "Thank you" button where you can choose how many points you like to gift.
      If you like to give more than 50, just say Thank You more than one times.

    • RE: Rationator 2.0 back in force?

      That is why it was said:

      We do know, there are some cases (keeping the ratio near the minimum ratio) where especially for Users with more than 500 GB download will now get a ratio warning - there is always the possibility to ask a moderator (or on our help desk) for a longer time - a request which was in the past usually granted (and will so in the future) when we see that a user at least tries to increase his ratio.

      Actually > 700 GB download users are concerned by that statement, because lower got same or lower miniumum ratio requirements, which concerns the waste majority of members.

      Of course I understand that you feel it being wrong to have received now a low ratio warning, despites having followed all the rules until the sudden change.

    • RE: Question about keeping my account active…

      Yes, for accounts which have upload / download of data in their history.

      @TwjT3NEc:

      @Uwe:

      Logging in from time to time is enough, just make sure you don't use a PC another member is using to login on his account.

      I believe the period is still 180 days.

    • RE: "Jumping on", overseeding and related stuff

      @ThrobbinRod:

      …
      Also, whoever posted the torrent here has their leech/seed connections number limited.  These additional seeders are not so restricted. They could have any number of these going.

      And I have some evidence that it is a bigger factor than you might imagine.
      ...

      Having the number of seed [nb]typical 1[/nb] and leech connections [nb]typical 0 to 5 with ADSL copper based internet access[/nb] limited does not limit your upload to my experience. A new upload  will take all your bandwidth with a potentail to go over 1 MBytes/s, so on a ADSL service with ~128 KBytes/s it does not limit. When it is new and another seeder jumping on with higher upload will leave nevertheless enought for the original poster to run his single allowed upload full rate. There are always soooo many leecher with better download than upload. Remember, as soon as there are 3 other seeds, it's an "old" torrent and it's free to upload or leech more.

      [off-topic]When people posted my original rips and posts cross site, without giving credits ("not my rip" style), I was jumping on them and pushing my full upload bandwidth into it, because it displeased me. Now I have learned to live with the fact that once you upload a torrent, you lost it's control and file shring being not fair. My last new torrent posts I run with 150 kBytes/s only [nb]instead of full rate 1 to 2 MBytes/s[/nb], still I get up easly 4x the file size before the buzz is over[/off-topic]

      As well session based in the per torrent display. Only the total ip-/downloads are accumulated.

    • RE: Envoir de fichier

      Bonjour,

      Si vous parlez du "Kickball Vol. 2", il suffit d'aller dans le Profile (clic sur votre nom dans "Welcome back, [you]" en haut à gauche) et trouver toute en bas la liste des torrent postés par vous.

      Utilisez le lien du titre d'aller a la description et re-téléchargez le petit fichier .torrent par le bouton "Download"

      Quand vous ouvre le .torrent dans votre programme client torrents, des clients comme µTorrent ou Vuze/Azureus affichent une fenêtre avec la destination du téléchargement. Alors indiquez le lieu ou se trouve le fichier (ou le classeur) du quel vous avez créez le torrent, puis démarrez le torrent. Si le fenêtre s'affiche pas. Placez le fichier vidéo dans le dossier du téléchargement avant d'ouvrir le .torrent.

      Après il faut attendre que un modérateur regarde le upload et donne son approbation au torrent (i.e. conforme à nos réglés).

      Bien cordialement
      Uwe

    • RE: Seeding

      You torrent client programme shows up as not connectable by other members torrent client programmes. That is not good to upload, because others trying to ask yours for some parts of a torrent, will get no answer and pass to clients which answer. So only if your client advertise it want to send it may work.

      This can many reasons (port forwarding and/or firewall setting). First things to try:

      • activate the Windows firewall exception in µTorrent > Options > Preferences > Connections
      • same for UPnP

      You can test with the µTorrent built-in test tool: Speed Guide > Test if ports are forwarded properly
      or look to the peer list of one torrent you seed.

      😄 LOL, you managed to revive a 9 months dead topic.

      Personally I think it is not the sections which are missing, but members taking the place to do their chit chat …
      The strong thing of this site are the torrents, perhaps these are too serious  😞

    • RE: If your not going to seed…

      @jaybeebrad:

      What I can't stand, or UNDERstand, is when the site says 7 people are seeding but I can't get it to transfer, or if I'm lucky it goes at 0.1kb/second. I'm downloading the ManifestMen collections right now and they really ought to have been done in a few hours with 7-ish seeders each, but they're not!

      A part of the issue is as well that some of the seeder's and your's torrent client programmes are not connectable (see http://tracker.gaytorrent.ru/details.php?id=42368&dllist=1#seeders ).

      If both in a swarm seed and leech are not connectable, no communication will be possible between them, and the clients will prefer connectable clients.

      Being not connectable can have multiple sources:
      1/ Firewall is blocking: check Windows Firewall to have an exception for incoming connections for your Torrent Client (or activate the option to create an exception in the Windows Firewall, if it got it). If you got another firewall on your computer, e.g. from the Antivirus suite, create an exception for the port used in your torrent client.

      2/ Your Router/Modem (the box from your ISP) is not sending incoming requests to your PC.
      a) If it supports UPnP and your client, too, activate them in both
      b) Else, give your PC a fixed local IP address (read the operating system help how to do, read the modem manual for the IP address range to chose from, typically 192.168.1.xxx or 192.168.0.xxx) create a thing which may be called something like "Local server", "Port forwarding" or "NAT (Network Address Translation")" for that IP and the port number used in client. For this you need to read the manual of the modem / rouer or it's suppliers (ISP) online help. portforwarding.com has help for many models
