What I can't stand, or UNDERstand, is when the site says 7 people are seeding but I can't get it to transfer, or if I'm lucky it goes at 0.1kb/second. I'm downloading the ManifestMen collections right now and they really ought to have been done in a few hours with 7-ish seeders each, but they're not!
A part of the issue is as well that some of the seeder's and your's torrent client programmes are not connectable (see http://tracker.gaytorrent.ru/details.php?id=42368&dllist=1#seeders ).
If both in a swarm seed and leech are not connectable, no communication will be possible between them, and the clients will prefer connectable clients.
Being not connectable can have multiple sources:
1/ Firewall is blocking: check Windows Firewall to have an exception for incoming connections for your Torrent Client (or activate the option to create an exception in the Windows Firewall, if it got it). If you got another firewall on your computer, e.g. from the Antivirus suite, create an exception for the port used in your torrent client.
2/ Your Router/Modem (the box from your ISP) is not sending incoming requests to your PC.
a) If it supports UPnP and your client, too, activate them in both
b) Else, give your PC a fixed local IP address (read the operating system help how to do, read the modem manual for the IP address range to chose from, typically 192.168.1.xxx or 192.168.0.xxx) create a thing which may be called something like "Local server", "Port forwarding" or "NAT (Network Address Translation")" for that IP and the port number used in client. For this you need to read the manual of the modem / rouer or it's suppliers (ISP) online help. portforwarding.com has help for many models
Yes, or sleeping. I just finished my morning tour through the Personal Messages, Helpdesk, Reports, Forum and now go to work.
Hello geekguy,
As cumeaternc said, don't feel discouraged.
As I did upload quite some full DVR-R, I noticed on these that the percentage of completed downloaders to seed is relatively low.
My personal explanation: These take a lot of hard disk space and either it is deleted after watching, burned to DVD and deleted or moved to an external drive and the member doesn't know how to re-seed from there (or is just lazzy, doesn't need for ratio).
This has as positive effect that members needing to improve their ratio can do so by staying seeding it.
In addition, here on GayTorrent.ru the long survive of the torrent is not in danger.
Sincerley yours'
Uwe
[off-topic]This is just the opposite of another discussion on ration requirements, where it's said torrents are seed too much, but people fear to download them (but that was about old torrent in the back catalogue).
Here we see, members who have the chance to upload well don't take it, later when the torrent gets old and less demanded and they'll try to seed because they are caught by low ratio, it will be much harder, the torrent being old and much less demanded.

Our tracker does NOT support scrape …
[off-topic]Hello Stealfire and ofcourse all interested,
One at a time is the rule, right?
One new a time is the rule.
This means it is allowed to upload and seed only 1 new torrent. New are torrents you have uploaded and have not yet got more than 3 or 4 other seeder (uploader). New torrents are that demanded to take all your internet access upload rate, so there is no point in seeding others. This rule is made to get it out as fast as possible.
Depending on the upload rate your torrent client is reporting while seeding, you get allowed a number of total torrents seeding and/or leeching (downloading), while uploading a new. This is shown in in the members's Profile. It includes the the new torrent, e.g. 2 means the new plus another.
While you are not uploading a new, there is no limit in the number of torrents uploading. Nevertheless it makes no sense to split the upload rate over too many actively seeding torrents. When you have indicated in the setup of your torrent client programme your internet access correctly (or do a built-in speedtest) it adjusts it to a meaning full value.
The number of downloading torrents members are allowed depends on their statistics, you can find it in the Rules.
Since this is off topic, if you want to continue about seeding, please open a new topic e.g. in the Support section of the forum.
I am glad to see you got your upload seeding and approved.

I don't think it would slow down your PC, but
Can you re-size up to use the pic after DL?Huh?
No, but you can size it up to full size before download by clicking on the resized picture and than save it by a right mouse click on it "save as…". The result is the same.
wouldn't a wallpaper the bigger pixel the better?
Best is to have the same number of pixel than your screen
Yep, resizing is a nice function, on top with a click on it, the picture is expanded.
However did you notice that the original source aspect ratio was 16:9 (1366x768) and the picture appears horizontally squeezed because you put it into a 4:3 aspect ratio (1024x768, respectively 800x600)?
Both horizontal & vertical resolution should be resized by the same factor to respect the geometry of the shown objects, e.g. 1024x576 or 800x450 or 720x480

To throttle torrent traffic, they don't need to look for the names of the files (torrents), it will be enough to look for the protocol used and they will block standard tracker ports.
Against the first you can activate protocol encryption in good torrent clients and the GayTorrent.ru tracker isn't using a standard port.
When does it come as an automatic update?
Usually there's a few weeks/month between the time it available for download and as an automatic update.
It is currently proposed by Windows Update on my laptop (French Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit) for download and instalation. Much faster than expected by members on different forums.
To my understanding, the file name will transported by the .torrent file, then while up/downloading it are the hashes which identify the data and the torrents…

It is a power which is difficult to loose once aquired

@Uwe:mgr, you must know, Europeans can have that power, too ;D
Of course do I have that power :), and I didn't (yet) lose it from Uwe's charming personality :)[/off-topic][/noquote]

Bonjour,

Good news indeed - more language supported
However it creates a small hick-up with text created using another (I think Western ISO 8859-1 & 15) character set in the torrent descriptions, e.g. ' ç characters replaced by a Raute (sorry don't know the English word) with a question mark inside present in the torrent list.
Nothing serious, but impacting as well our system messages as one can see from the system up-load message picture attached.
Dear zbret,
Your feature request has well been noticed by the staff.
mrg's answer was rather meant to clarify minimum ratio requirements for download rights and the ratio requirement for Power User to stay Power User, which was felt necessary seen the 2nd post in this topic and probably is the reason this stayed here and was not moved.
Have a nice day.
Best regards
Uwe
Hello dokun,
Hopefully you know that what I said above was not meant "against" you and even not especially targeting you.
Nobody is obliged to use the "Report" function. Kind PMs can be a good means and IMHO it is even preferable if things can be corrected between members in a friendly manner.
Anyway, Reports should be used with care and after double checking (this is meant for all members) to be founded.
Best regards
Uwe
