I had terrible acne problems and I still get them from time to time, what helped for me is the following:

• Lukewarm water when cleaning face with a baby soap
• Changing pillow case every three days
• Included all sorts of teas in my diet (organic ones)
• Lowered chocolate intake
• Switched from standard sugar to organic brown sugar
• Started working out

Ever since I introduced these things in my life my acne problems faded away within a year. Sadly it's a long process but it's worth it.
Oh and of course good ol' dermatologist will help but I'm not a big fan of all those chemical creams as they did nothing but make the problem much more worse.
