For me it makes the story as a whole more interesting & hopefully better.  Let's face it American Horror Story is basically in the same category as say Dynasty.  Wanna bet they have tried to get Linda Evans for a part?
After series 2 (& sometimes after every episode) I ask myself "Why are you watching this?" but I guess at heart I am a maschoist who likes shiny things.

If you are reffering to Dynasty, i am watching it because it makes me laugh. Especially when Krystle and Alexis are in the same room.

I don't think small, it's called American Horror Story not Stories.

I haven't saw the other seasons so i will not going to procede into an arguement but from reviews i red from various sites, i haven't found a link that forces the viewer to watch the show from s1 all the way to the new one.
For instance, S1 dealt with haunts and S2 dealt with aliens. Where is the link between the stories that might make me consider that, even remotely, S2 is a prequel to S1?
