    • RE: Frequent certificate errors when accessing gaytorrent.ru

I was a regular user of the site for years until last year when I suddenly couldn't get access it. I got a similar message to the original poster on this thread no matter which browser I used on both my desktop and laptop. This went on for over 6 months and I gave up. Recently I tried again and managed to access this thread on my Android tablet, I went through all the suggested fixes, and now I can get in occasionally, but it's very hit and miss.

Perhaps this issue only affects a few users, but I wonder how many, like me, gave up on the site thinking it had closed down. Surely if the problem is with the security certificate, the site administrators could solved it

    • RE: Centralized Freeleech Discussions

I can understand the reasons for a 48 hour delay, but it does seem excessive. I uploaded a 'themed' feature film yesterday and planned to make it freeleech. I didn't realise about the 48 hour change thing until I found this thread. The abillity for the uploader to make a file freeleech right away would be a welcome one. They are unlikely to go to the trouble of  uploading a video, spending their own bonus points on making it freeleech, then go offline. I'm guessing here, but I would imagine that it's mostly the uploader of a file that makes it freeleech anyway.

Freeleech is a welcome addition to the site. I occasionally look to see what's on offer and take a chance on a download that I normally wouldn't bother with. I hope the 48 hour rule doesn't reduce the number of these, uploaders could easily forget to go back and make their files freeleech

I must be getting old, all I could think of was the health and safety implications of such pranks  ;D
If the 'victims' were genuinely members of the public and not actors, I doubt the producers would find it funny if the girl or coffin guy ended up with a nail file through the eye!

    • RE: Someone just uploaded the same pics to different vids for points

I would have gone immediately for a ban  >:D given that the individual was deliberately trying to cheat the system and ultimately deceive downloaders. That said, I always marvel at how free of trouble and grief this site is compared to many others. This doesn't happen by accident, it's largely down to you guys who moderate it fairly.

Btw trukr, I'd like to know what step 9 is, and can I help  😉

The one video I've seen from the site is very good https://www.gaytorrent.ru/details.php?id=146482 Straight Builders being spanked is a horny fantasy, and the new favourite of mine, Irish bloke Andy Lee is great in it.

Reports like this (whatever their accuracy) are important in raising awareness of all types of STDs to all people. Long gone are the days of money being spent on intensive educational campaigns in the 80s and 90s.

It appears things are back to normal  🙂
Yesterday afternoon, after several hours, the red torrents turned to green one by one. They were ok this morning and again this afternoon.

Cheers for the help and suggestions Uwe and Speedmaster8

Since the weekend half the torrents on uTorrent are red but say 'Seeding' but are not counted in my profile on the site. I've never seen this happen before. It appears to be the oldest torrents that are affected

    • RE: ***Ereaders***

I took the plunge and bought a 6" Wi-Fi Kindle. I had got out the habit of reading, and when I did read in bed it was uncomfortable holding a book. I find the Kindle easy to use and easy on the eye. I'm probably still going through a honeymoon period with it.  Using the device itself to browse for books is a bit cumbersome, so I tend to browse from the pc and send books to the Kindle. I'm a fan of the Amazon site so I don't feel restricted to being tied to it for books. There are stacks of good free books to explore and cheap bargains to find, with several websites listing the freebies available. This is particularly useful as Amazon don't make it easy to find them beyond the 'free top100'  listings

    • RE: Not guilty verdict in DVD obscenity trial

A few people commented on Twitter at the time, they were amazed that anyone still watched porn on dvds.

It's astonishing that public money was wasted on investigating and prosecuting this. I would love to know the thought process of the individuals responsible for it going to trial, and why no one thought this would be a bad idea.

It's heartening to know that the man ultimately responsible for one of his 'newspapers' hacking into and deleting messages from the voicemail of a kidnapped and murdered child, thus giving the family false hope she was still alive, has suddenly found some moral ethics

    • RE: White House Will Not Support SOPA, PIPA

      From the bbc website:-

Wikipedia plans to take its English-language site offline on Wednesday as part of protests against proposed anti-piracy laws in the US. The user-generated news site Reddit and the blog Boing Boing have also said they will take part in the "blackout".

The sites' webmasters are opposed to the Stop Online Piracy Act (Sopa) and Protect Intellectual Property Act (Pipa) being debated by Congress. However, Twitter has declined to take part in the shutdown. Wikipedia's founder, Jimmy Wales, told the BBC: "Proponents of Sopa have characterised the opposition as being people who want to enable piracy or defend piracy.

"But that's not really the point. The point is the bill is so over broad and so badly written that it's going to impact all kinds of things that, you know, don't have anything to do with stopping piracy."

Sopa's supporters in the House of Representatives say the legislation is designed to stop revenue flowing to "rogue websites". A similar law, Pipa, is making its way through the US Senate. On Saturday the White House issued a statement that appeared to side with critics of the Acts.
It said: "While we believe that online piracy by foreign websites is a serious problem that requires a serious legislative response, we will not support legislation that reduces freedom of expression, increases cybersecurity risk, or undermines the dynamic, innovative global internet."

Despite the hint of a presidential veto, Wikipedia said that the English site's administrators had decided to stage its first ever public protest because the bills "would be devastating to the free and open web".

It added: "We don't think Sopa is going away, and Pipa is still quite active. Moreover, Sopa and Pipa are just indicators of a much broader problem. All around the world, we're seeing the development of legislation intended to fight online piracy, and regulate the internet in other ways, that hurt online freedoms."

However, when asked whether Twitter would join the blackout, its chief executive, Dick Costolo, tweeted: "Closing a global business in reaction to single-issue national politics is foolish." In a Twitter conversation with Wikipedia's founder Jimmy Wales, Mr Costolo later clarified that his comment was not meant to be read as a "value judgement" about other organisations involvement in the action.

The anti-piracy legislation still has high profile supporters including News Corporation's chairman, Rupert Murdoch. Over the weekend he tweeted: "So Obama has thrown in his lot with Silicon Valley paymasters who threaten all software creators with piracy, plain thievery."

He later added: "Seems like universal anger with POTUS [President of the United States] from all sorts of normal supporters… Whole entertainment industry employs 2.2 million [on] average salary $65,000. Good jobs and expanding foreign earnings. Made in America, too!"

Sites taking part in the shutdown plan to go offline for 24 hours from midnight Eastern Standard Time (05:00 GMT) on Wednesday.
