@flozen One of the most frustrating things about Utorrent is that there doesn't seem to be anybody paying attention to anything. For instance, there is a 1 bit change that can be done to Utorrent which allows it to access an additional 4GB of RAM, but they don't use it.. It's called LAA or Large Address Aware.

I notice that about 40% of the people who use Utorrent as their torrent client, are using the TEN YEAR OLD VERSION of 2.2.1

Trust me, they will never fix the problems with Utorrent, so you are going to be using version 2.2.1 forever.. UNLESS you find a better client. Well, I'm happy to say, that there IS a better torrent client. It's Qbittorrent 4.4.1 and is up to date, and a true 64 bit application. It uses about 35% of the the amount of cpu resources and 20% of the memory that Utorrent does... and it doesn't freeze or crash or have overloads or lose files the way Utorrent does.

It's not nice to refer to the Chicago Mayor as being Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice isn't that ugly! You should apologize to Beetlejuice for saying he looks like that zombie from hell in Chicago.

Even if the USA did not exist - the Climate would not be affected. The climate is only affected by major factors such as population growth, active volcanoes, China, India, Mexico and other major polluters.

@flozen I very rarely do. It seems to be something new. I generally filter out weird characters. I noticed so many files with weird characters lately that I even complained to the uploader.

Two times when I tried uploading files with weird characters in the past week, I had a nightmare trying to find the problem QTM was having with them. I found the problem finally, after jackny told me what the cause of the problem was.

@raphjd Perhaps when you are confident that Qbittorrent is preferable to Utorrent.. you will recommend Qbittorrent to the users of GTRU.
Utorrent has become like "Humpty Dumpty" in that it's broken.. and there is no chance that they will ever fix it. I think the utorrent programmers are all in their 80's now, and working on 386 and 486 pc's with 16 megs of RAM and 256 mb hard drives.. with dial up modems.. and CRT screens.. running Windows 3.1 on dual floppy drives.

That will be interesting.. because when the Chauvin verdict comes in, one of these will happen:

1. he will be acquitted, triggering riots and looting across the country
2. he will be convicted, but his conviction overturned because Auntie Maxine influenced the jury with her threats - triggering riots and looting across the country.
   Either way, Bidet's goose is cooked.

So.. one officer died of natural causes... and 4 of the protestors died because of the treatment BY the officers.. and 2 more officers later committed suicide, probably because they killed the 4 protestors! Hardly an "insurrection"

@bi4smooth you are truly the king of the "dash". I would disagree about how much of a problem it is though. Sure, I can easily rename files when downloading them if I get an error.. but torrent clients tend to accept strange characters. I think someone at GTRUORG is intentionally putting some strange characters into their file names, so that when people download them.. and then try to upload them here.. QTM chokes on them. You don't know until AFTER you try using the QTM created torrent if it will work or not. One solution might be for QTM to automatically replace any weird character with a normal character. Another solution would be to simply delete weird characters. Weird characters also cause problems in spreadsheets and documents.

I've had a couple of nasty encounters with INVALID CHARACTERS in files grabbed from GTRUORG which corrupt QTM torrents.
I suggest removing all : and " but in this case, the problem was characters that LOOKED like a - but were not. See the two PINK bits.. which resemble a _ but are not

Someone on that other site SEEMS to have intentionally used invalid characters to mimic valid ones.

@raphjd That is true.. in Qbitttorrent "stalled" sounds like a problem.. like with a car.. or Joe Bidet's brain. "Stalled" is actually equivalent to "Finished" in Utorrent.. Finished sounds like a good thing!

@lololulu19 I forgot to mention that Utorrent quite often locks up with "not responding" errors.

@ricky Generally, I like it when people ADD images.. what I don't like is when the main image that I uploaded gets replaced.

Reasons to ditch Utorrent for Qbittorrent

Utorrent is a 32 bit app - which does not utilize memory well; it is highly prone to disk overloads; it locks up and crashes - a lot, requiring a lot of re-checking; it randomly loses associations between the torrent files and the actual files downloaded; it is a memory hog; it runs background "utorrentie" tasks in the background for advertising purposes.

With that said.. I would say that Utorrent is still the 2nd best torrent client there is.. but Qbittorrent is now the best.
