I use 2 different computers, both with the exact same version of utorrent, both with the exact same settings, but one of them will only upload seed files while the other I can both download and upload.

There is some other software blocking the downloads on my laptop. 
The weird thing is, to get around this I installed bittorrent on my laptop which is able to download.  Utorrent and bittorrent look and function 100% the same.  The difference is in the coding.  I think they have two teams of programmers.  The only advantage of utorrent is that it has faster transfer rates.  I don't know why.

What I do is use bittorrent to download files, and when the files complete, they are imported automatically into utorrent to seed them.  That way I can shut down my uploads from my giant 8TB external drive without interrupting my downloads in progress with bittorrent.

I found out the hard way that the WIFI receivers built into the motherboards of desktops and laptops almost always suck. 
Very often they support only the 2.4 gig WIFI and not 5.0 ghz

The solution I found was the ASUS AC53 USB which should be a maximum of $40.  I got mine for $32, and I've seen them for $25.  There are at least half a dozen similar USB dongles, but the others sometimes only work with USB 3.0  Some have annoying little antennas the size of a finger attached.

It's sad to buy a motherboard with integrated sound, video, and WIFI.. only to have to go buy a better sound card, better video card, and USB WIFI.

The biggest disaster I ever had was buying one of the most expensive laptops made at the time for $3000.  But it only had standard USB ports.  The next month, USB 2.0 came out!  So I was stuck with a laptop with ultra slow USB and really no fix for that.  I had to combine 2 ports into one just to get the USB working at a usable speed.

Then they started with USB 3.0 which is also a problem, because a lot of devices do not function with USB 3.0 even though they claim that the USB 3.0 ports are backward compatible with USB 2.0.  Quite often they are NOT compatible.  To get around that, expensive motherboards have at least one USB 2.0 port along with the USB 3.0 ports.

I have yet to get an explanation about the difference in CDs and DVDs between +R and -R

my understanding so far is that they both store the same amount of data, and seem to cost the same, but they are two different formats.

The +R is supposed to be more tolerant of errors

I am told that some devices are compatible with just one of the formats.

Any opinions on this?  and is the difference significant enough to worry about?

For the longest time, I didn't want to believe this, however recently, something has happened that has left me wondering how legitimate the DMCA process really is.

Get this… The other day, I received a DMCA takedown notice FOR MY OWN PRIVATE VIDEO!!! That's right!!! A PRIVATE HOME VIDEO that I MADE MYSELF was the target of a DMCA takedown request. Imagine that... Apparently, my own private videos are copyright of some studio? SHIT!! When did that happen?! When do I get paid for whatever studio it was that had my video taken down for having apparently purchased the rights to my video?

Maybe some website that charges a monthly subscription fee posted your video on their site and they wanted your video to be exclusive to their site so they had it taken down here. Obviously that was a fraudulent DMCA request. I wonder how many DMCA requests are legitimate or if they are even being verified?  If some studio is selling your private video, you could sue them.  Sharing is not illegal.  If a neighbor invited you over to watch a pay-per-view event, there is nothing illegal about that. But if the neighbor charged you $20 to watch a pay-per-view event that he didn't own, then that would be illegal. That's like the Uber and Lyft and other taxi services.  You can give someone a ride and even charge them for the gasoline and that is legal. But if you start a for-profit business out of driving people around, you must set up a business and have all sorts of licensing, liability, insurance, taxes, and other crap. That fraudulent DMCA request of your homemade video is like your neighbor taking your car without permission and using it to make money by driving people around town.

I know what you mean.  Almost all sex video games are very low quality.  Many of them drag you through several hours of boring dialog and the only payoff is some cheesy stills of some cartoon in an R-rated image.

Even if you have files available for seeding, you don't get any credit unless someone is downloading your seeds.
Maybe they should add another ratio booster which gives some credits to people who have files available for seeding even if nobody is downloading those seeds.  To prevent people from getting credit for ancient files or files that nobody wants, here is another idea:  whenever a file is being downloaded, everyone seeding it gets credits even if their seed is not the one being downloaded.  If nobody is downloading the file, nobody gets any credits.

I don't have a fix for you, but an alternative solution.
I think qbittorrent is a different company than bittorrent. 
Bittorrent makes both "bittorrent" and "utorrent" which look and function exactly alike, but are coded by two different teams of programmers. 
I prefer utorrent, because it seems to transfer files faster, however for some reason, utorrent stopped downloading files and only uploads them.
So now, I used bittorrent to download files, and although I could use bittorrent to upload (seed) the files - I instead save the bittorrent files and torrent files into the auto-load directory of Utorrent.  That way, Utorrent never downloads anything, but instead automatically imports the files from bittorrent and seeds them.  Another advantage of that is I can shut down my downloads (bittorrent) without affecting my uploads (utorrent) or vice versa.

In your case, I would suggest installing bittorrent or utorrent and see if they solve your problem.  Since my utorrent won't download, I suggest you try bittorrent first.

I have one theory about why my utorrent isn't downloading.  Utorrent is the most popular and widely used torrent client.  Because of that, it might be attacked by malware or blocked by ISP's that hate torrents because they use a massive amount of bandwidth.

If this photo is fake, where is the original photo from which it was made?

I'm an expert at photoshopping, and that Bieber picture looks 100% real to me.  Not only are there no tell-tale signs of it being fake, but the high resolution detail of individual hairs is flawless, the shadow of the cum stream would be nearly impossible to create realistically, the blobs of cum on his face are perfect.  The image is entirely high resolution and complex.  One tell-tale characteristic of a photoshop is when some areas have been blurred to hide the photoshopping.  There is no blurring here!    The one thing that confuses me is that it is a white guy cumming on Justin's face.  Justin has a long history of only being interested in black guys.  There are videos of Justin and a black pal  of his exitting a hotel and leaping into a limousine.. where justin is wearing the top of a set of pajamas and the black guy is wearing the matching bottoms.. wake up people!

I am extremely skilled at detecting when an image is photoshopped.
That one of Bieber looks real to me!  Check out the shadow of the stream of cum passing by Bieber's head! 
If that is a fake, someone did a masterful job of faking it.

A woman I know in her early 30's had her husband die in an accident.  She wants to access his Windows 7 laptop that has a password on it.

I know there are many methods of cracking Windows 7 passwords and resetting them, but has anybody actually done it recently? The methods I've tried so far have failed.
I have been able to boot off of a Windows 7 USB stick and get to a command prompt, but have not been able to crack the password or reset it.

I wonder if it would be better to use a Windows 10 usb stick stick to crack the Windows 7 computer?

I don't live in the same country as the woman, so it is tricky.  If I had physical access, I would pop out the hard drive and have my way with it.

I've done a lot of searching for methods, and software which is supposed to work that did not.    I have tried versons of UUKeys, Kon-Boot, and Ophcrack.

I don't know if it  would be easier to crack the password, or reset it.  Resetting it hasn't worked for me either.  A funny thing is that now Microsoft has everybody's login passwords which they can use to lock you out of your own computer.

People should also be aware that no password prevents files from being accessed on a computer.  The only way to protect files is to encrypt them.  Almost nobody bothers to encrypt files.

Back in the day, i used the USENET very successfully for every type of file.
I don't know what happened, but the USENET has become completely infested with malware to the point of being useless.  Even more silly is that almost no malware is effective anymore, so why do they keep propagating it?

Found the solution:
STOP all the active torrents and re-start them.

When you stop them, it reveals any torrents which are in an error state.
Torrents which are in an error state but not tagged as being "bad" will jam up your transfers.
Once tagged, they don't cause a problem.  Then you can fix the torrents by moving files and re-checking and starting them again.

In the past few weeks, 44 of my torrents failed to download with Utorrent, but then in just a couple of hours they all got downloaded.
But then the problem re-appeared, and 28 of my torrents failed to download.
On a hunch, I installed an alternative to Utorrent called "Tixati" and voila.. those 28 torrrents are downloading quite fast.

So, there seems to be a glitch in Utorrent.  If I figure out what that glitch is, I will let you know.
Meanwhile, I'm using Tixati to download torrents. 
Utorrent is UPLOADING my existing files fine.

Once again.. files aren't downloading again.
The batch of 44 suddenly got downloaded in a few hours.. bringing me to 0..
But after just a few days.. I've got a backlog of 28 movies.. almost all of them are new posts.

Could it be a problem with the Tracker?
