I can't upload a folder of 3 videos.
It goes through creating a torrent very fast, then uploads the images, but then does not do the 29 second backend thing, and craps out.

Any ideas why this is happening?

There are many sites which charge a monthly fee to download archived videos.
The problem I am having is finding one that is NOT a scam!

Typically, the sites cannot accept payments.
Those that do tend to outright steal your money, and give you nothing in return.

Others offer you the option to pay with VISA, Mastercard, Paypal, etc. But when you get to the point of actually making a payment, they require you to use your Visa, Mastcard, Paypal, etc. to purchase a RAZER GOLD card which charges even MORE fees, and is NON-REFUNDABLE and also seems to be a scam.

By the way, what are "Extra Videos" on Recurbate? I am considering a subscription to Recurbate, but don't know if it offers anything I don't already get with their FREE account.

It is ironic that when one TRIES to pay for something legitimately, they get screwed! Reminds me of a local discount store that sells things cheap, but has a no-return policy. Most of their inventory is obsolete, unwanted, out of date, broken, low quality, or very old. They even sell food that has "sell by" dates that expired 5 years ago!

@raphjd Frankly, there is no reason to upscale in regards to SIZE. It does not improve anything but makes the files larger. In about an hour, I will show an example of this.

I know you like high quality, so do I, but I also don't want files to be bigger than they have to be to deliver that quality. Years ago on this site, some asshole uploaded a 30 minute video that was 9 TB... yes TERABYTES. That was so ridiculous that even the moderator was disgusted that someone did this.
A 30 min video should be between 300 mb and 1,200 mb, not 9,000,000 mb.

I sometimes try to pay for porn, and have gotten burned. Even "trusted" sites such as Chaturbate, Flirt4Free, and Onlyfans have burned me. You give them your credit card info, and then you wind up with fake charges being made.

Even worse, there are companies that are not so "trusted" which are virtually ALWAYS scams. Here is a tip - if the billing company has anything to do with the state of ARIZONA, especially Phoenix or Tempe, BEWARE. You will get nothing, and you will be charged for it.

Here are some other major internet scams:
People or sites offering to sell products at incredibly LOW prices are often scams. If not dealing through something like e-bay or Amazon, you must be very careful. I NEARLY got scammed in a major way on e-bay - but the problem was fixed by e-bay once they became aware of the scam. A very famous scam is people selling exotic, expensive animals via the internet Typically parrots, dogs, horses, etc. That scam involves a very low price for the pet, BUT then they require you to pay for the "shipping" which is considerable. They want to be paid through a money wire service at the last minute. They pretend that they are being so nice, but then ship the animal, and tell you it is waiting at the airport for you to pick up, but before they can release it, you must wire them a lot of money immediately (so you don't have time to check them out). The animal never existed, it has not shipped, they are just after your money!

There are a few videos which benefit quite a bit from editting - such as to get the colors right, the correct brightness, get the audio in synch with the video, etc. I have done this myself and uploaded the results. One example of that is "Drilligan's Island" to fix the out of synch audio. Fixing a video should not change the SIZE of the video significantly. I find that fixed videos are about 5% larger than the original.

There are a few people who are upscaling videos - making them huge - without making any improvements. Naughty naughty!

When I upload a video that I have edited, I always explain what I changed in the description of the video. Anybody changing a video should also do this. If they are UPSCALING a video, they need to explain WHY they upscaled it. In fact, since an upscaled video is usually 2 to 10 times the size of the original file, the uploader of the upscaled video should include the original video with the upscaled video. A few people do this. If they do not, you can be certain that they are just screwing you to get you to download their bloated version of a file to get themselves download credits (which is NOT an effective way to get download credits).

I have found that 10mb of file size per minute is adequate. When going lower than that, quality drops off quick. Anything over 40mb per minute is almost certainly going to result in no improvements in quality In fact, those large files not only take up more hard drive space, cost more credits and take longer to download, they often cause LAG when playing the video, because the viewer's computer cannot process all that data fast enough.

One example of this involves changing formats. When encoding a DVD, the encoder generally produces a set of VOB files that fill the DVD. Typically a rip of a DVD results in a set of VOB files that are 4.5 GB. When re-encoded into being an AVI or MP4 file of the exact same quality, that generally results in a file that is about 1/4 the size or about 1.2 gb. In fact, if you look at the VOB files in a DVD rip, you will see 2 or more sets of VOB files because they could not fill the DVD with enough crap with the movie itself. They often include unwanted "extras" such as "behind the scenes", "bonus scenes", "previews" and other crap.

This is one of those cases. I have found that the only difference between an original video and an upscaled video is the SIZE of the file. There is no improvement in color, contrast, brightness, audio, nothing.

The changes made to adjust color, brightness, contrast, etc. have very little effect on the file size.

There HAVE been some videos fixed to correct color, brightness, audio, etc. One thing that I have done sometimes is to take videos in which the sound track is not in sync with the video - where hear what is going on in the video a few seconds before or after you see it. It takes a lot of work to get them in sync.

Re-encoding is a great thing - especially when done on vintage videos which are stored on VHS and slowly fading away.
When someone uploads an UPSCALED video, they should mention what IMPROVEMENT there is in the video. In fact, since their upscaled video is much larger, they should also include the ORIGINAL video.

This one with the download showing an active download that resulted in no data was very surprising to me. I was wondering if anybody else noticed this ever happening.

There is a similar problem that I found a fix for. Sometimes a download will just stop, or get extremely slow. Look at the TRACKER list. If the tracker field has gone blank, REMOVE the torrent (not the data, just the torrent), and then RELOAD the torrent. Usually that will resume the torrent where it left off and the tracker field will be filled in again.
