    • RE: Is Being Gay a Choice?

      "New Age Huckster" is redundant.

My take - we don't have a choice on our sexual orientation; we do have a choice on our cultural expression.  Since we can't seem to agree on whether 'gay' is 'able to have an erection with another man' or 'being honest about loving other men' it's a meaningless arguement.

      If you get paid more.

Should I see Jumanji 2 tonight when it's cheap.

    • RE: Trying to make the 'Gayest Cake Ever'

There is a long history of penis cakes - pardon the pun.

I can't find any links to Roman history - (the things I research) but here's a link of a tradition that can be traced back to the 13th century.

I don't want to kill any of them.  Could I just fuck Australia and Hungary.
      Marry Germany.

    • RE: What are your top three to ten news stories from 2017?

Based in Canada, here are my top stories of the year (most likely going to hold until the end of the month).  No order since it's difficult enough to pick the top ten much less list them in order of importance.

-Jagmeet Singh becomes the first non-white/non-christian leader of a major Canadian party.
-the collapse of Sears which had been one of the major Canadian department stores while I was growing up.
-NAFTA is likely to end soon and Canada is beginning to prepare for it.
-The Caliphate AKA ISIL AKA Da`esh has failed as a state.  Expect the war to continue over the status of Kurdistan and the rivalry between Saudi Arabia and Iran
-Something big that didn't happen.  Brexit did not lead to the dissolution of the EU.  An EU with Britain on the outside is the worst possible scenario for Britain.
-The Dominion of Canada celebrated its 150th birthday as a democratic state.
-The Native Peoples of Canada brought attention to the facts that the last 150 years have not been great for them but that they are making plans for the next 150.
-The different levels of the Canadian government are doing bizarre things about immigration.
-Reverend Brent Hawkes retires from his ministry at Metropolitan Community church of Toronto after 40 years.  He is the one person most reponsible for changing canadian law to accept same-sex marriage.
-A still developing story is the Breaking Silence on Sexual Violence.  So far most of the fall-out has been confined to men in the entertainment industry of the USA.  It may be either a fad of 2017 or lead to real changes.

Back to ghee - I live a street away from an Indian neighbourhood in Toronto and make my own ghee.

Should I shouldn't I tell a volunteer that she annoys the fuck out of me?

    • RE: What language are you currently learning?

Just a word to you all, never, never, never, try to learn Finnish or Hungarian. Damn! They are tough.

A retirement home I volunteer at has some Hungarian speakers.  I decided to try to learn some Hungarian.
I got a course "Learn Hungarian in 3 Months" - two years later I was half-way through the course and everything still looked like gibberish.

I would love to visit either Argentina or China.  I can eat beef but I cannot eat shellfish; so the Steakhouse wins out.

Rijsttafel in Holland or Hainann chicken in Singapore

I've been learning to read Russian for a while.  I'm finding speaking it much more difficult.

I'm also trying to refresh my Modern Hebrew.

I can't see I'd need to kill to survive if I were on a farm.  I could just milk a cow.  So, deer in the wild.

Fuck - Radamel - HIs mouth looks ready.
Marry James - he looks like a sweet boy despite the ugly tattoos
Kill - I really have no reaction to David.

      Eggs Florentine - I don't eat pork.

In parts of Canada the Summer Solestice is dedicated to celebrating First Nations Culture.  The Winter Solestice is just private celebrations for certain groups of neo-Pagans.  I prefer the celebration of Summer Solestice.

    • RE: Post the last movie you've seen and how you rate it

Concerning Johhny Depp's character on Murder On the Orient Express.
The character is intended to be despicable, but he could have been made sympathetic which is not at all the same thing.
To explain, the David Suchet version showed him as a frightened and unhappy man who was desparate enough to reach out to a stranger for help.  Poirot turned him down for no good reason.  Poirot regretted not helping a man in need no matter how horrible his past was.  It would also be possible to depict Casetti as having destroyed his own life through his crime:  showing remorse or shame.

I liked the choice of focusing on the long-term damage done by the crime in this re-telling.

Well, I don't mix meat and milk and I like cheese on my pizza.

Vegetarian, thin, extra cheese, and chain shop.  (I prefer homemade but that wasn't the option.)

Christian Christmas (go to church services, presents around the tree, home-cooked meal) or Jewish Christmas (friends go to a movie and a chinese restaurant)

I have friends at a church called St. Mary Magdelane.  I prefer the story of redemption over the story of life-long purity.

Since we're on a religious track:  King David or King Solomon
