Expectations that the 2020 census might start including LGBTQ subjects were raised and then quickly dashed on Tuesday after the U.S. Census admitted that it had "inadvertently" included "sexual orientation" and "gender identity," in a long-awaited report outlining new categories for the survey. In response, GLAAD's CEO, Sarah Kate Ellis, branded the move as a "systematic effort on behalf of the Trump administrationn to erase LGBT people."
Last year, various federal agencies urged the Census Bureau to include sexual orientation and gender in their data as it was crucial to their role in enforcing the law. The survey, which has been conducted every ten years since 1790, includes a wide range of questions designed to gather data on everything from languages spoken to household plumbing facilities. The current census, however, only allows for a snapshot of same-sex households, but Democrats in Congress had pushed for more specific questions around sexual orientation and gender identity to improve results. The logic was simple: With more focused questions law makers would be better equipped to ensure appropriate legislation to improve the lives of LGBTQ citizens.
Although the Supreme Court, in 2013, struck down the Defense of Marriage Act, paving the way for the census to change the way it tracks same-sex households, the White House has sent yet another powerful signal that it considers LGBTQ concerns as frivolous.
Meghan Maury, Criminal and Economic Justice Project Director of the National LGBTQ Task Force released a statement:
"Today, the Trump Administration has taken yet another step to deny LGBTQ people freedom, justice, and equity, by choosing to exclude us from the 2020 Census and American Community Survey. LGBTQ people are not counted on the Census—no data is collected on sexual orientation or gender identity. Information from these surveys helps the government to enforce federal laws like the Violence Against Women Act and the Fair Housing Act and to determine how to allocate resources like housing supports and food stamps. If the government doesn’t know how many LGBTQ people live in a community, how can it do its job to ensure we’re getting fair and adequate access to the rights, protections and services we need? We call on President Trump and his Administration to begin collecting sexual orientation and gender identity data on the American Community Survey as soon as possible and urge Congress to conduct oversight hearings to reveal why the Administration made the last-minute decision not to collect data on LGBTQ people.”
Liberals do themselves no favors by constant flaming of anyone who they deem "wrong think/speak". They can't discuss whatever topic it is, they just do personal attacks. If it's in person, then liberals get extremely violent.
Raphjd, I never flamed or personally attacked anyone. Meanwhile, jojojojo3 calls me "shit" and "stupid butt slutt." This is a clear violation of your own rules against name calling.
As hmmfer mentions, this entire thread was created to stigmatize and attack liberals.
Rick Santorum is a rabidly antigay politician who compared gay sex to bestiality. Michael Savage has described gay parents as child abusers. These are the men you approvingly cite.
I'm sickened by the posts I'm seeing in this forum. I'm seriously wondering of the worship of antigay bigots and of racism is part of some kind of gay nazi fetish I'm not aware of. If it is, let me know, so I won't waste my time responding to this rubbish.
so if you're not taking it seriously. i guess you shouldn't be taken seriously?
i mean it's not like trump held up a gay flag and said he supported the LGBT population of this country and was proud he could say it and the Republican National convention.
Oh wait that did happen. but that's conveniently ignored by you. sure Santorum is a shit but you're one in the same. you don't think your shit stinks or the fact that hillary ran her 08 campaign not on gay rights. only Edwards did and he lost in his own primaries.
but hey, be a stupid butt slutt for a political ideology. show us all how horseshoe theory is real and that you're the same as santorum with how intolerant you are.
Trump claimed to support the LGBT community, then he promptly reversed Obama-era school protections for vulnerable LGBT students once he got into in power. Betsy DeVos, Trump's education secretary, financially backs exgay groups that practice conversion therapy. Jeff Sessions, Trump's attorney general, supports amending the constitution to strip gay people of marriage rights. Rick Perry, another Trump cabinet member, compare being gay to alcoholism. Trump's supreme court pick compared gay marriage to incest, bigamy, and prostitution. When Mike Pence was governor of Indiana he created an HIV outbreak in that state and voted for every anti-LGBT piece of legislation that crossed his desk. These are just a few members of Trump's inner circle who are rabidly anti-gay.
If you prefer shallow pandering over substantive pro-LGBT policy, that's your business. But not all of us are willing to be fooled by an incompetent demagogue.
There is also a threesome video involving Brad Maddox and Xavier Woods.
"Rick Santorum declares war on pornography: I will ban hardcore porn if I’m elected President"
This is your hero?

"A common and seemingly reasonable argument for white pride or white nationalism is "why can't I be proud of my culture?"
Well, you can. Always have been able to. We have Irish pride celebrations, we have German drinking festivals, we have Serbian food festivals. Any European culture you can think of has multiple organizations in North America dedicated to taking pride in their heritage and NO ONE gives them shit for it.
But, you see, when you start talking "white pride", that's not a culture. That's a skin colour. There is no white culture, never was. There is no pan-European culture, never was. Europe is a continent, not a culture or ethnicity.
Now, some of you are probably about to go "But wait! Black pride! How is that okay?" Well, easy. Go find a black person and ask them if their ancestors were slaves. When you find one who says "yes", proceed to ask them "what country in Africa were your ancestors from?" Do you know what their answer will probably be? "I don't know." This is because their culture was taken from them. It was beaten out of them. They were enslaved, Christianized, and then white washed. The one unifying feature they have as a people is that history of slavery and that history of being black. They can't have Liberian pride, or Congolese pride, or "insert African country" pride because they have no fucking idea where their ancestors came from other than the broad region of West Africa.
Meanwhile white people can often trace our ancestors to specific cities and regions. I can trace my mother's maiden name to a single fucking village in Ireland. I know where I came from. I don't have white culture, I have Irish culture.
So that's why white pride makes you an asshole but black pride actually makes sense."This is from a reddit comment that puts my thoughts into words pretty well. I wonder what you guys think?
You are correct, of course. There are numerous cultural festivals and holidays celebrating European nationalities in North America. "White pride" in the USA is the like "straight pride." It is meant to be antagonistic and exclusive rather than positive and uplifting.
African slaves were banned from using their native tongues or practicing their traditional religions. Despite the oppressive lash of slavery, somehow they were able to develop a unique culture with African, European, and Native American elements. In the mid 20th century "pride" became a rallying call for the Civil Rights movement as African Americans attempted to shed racial shame and embrace their heritage.
I always take hot showers but at the end I turn on the cold water because it closes your pores.
It depends on the attractiveness of the actors. Derek Steel was my favorite during his short career in porn.
I rarely watched the show when it aired but I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this. It would interesting to see what a new Will and Grace would be like without the network restrictions of the 1990s and 2000s.
I can't say I'm really shocked at the clusterfuck of this thread.
You would think that a message board centered around gay pornography would be open minded to people that are different from them, but no. I already envisioned this whole thread panned out which is why I've been avoiding it for a few days now. I can hold back no longer.
You would think a bunch of homosexual (or same gender attracted men) would understand issues like this. But I totally see it now.
Anything to take the heat off their skillet or the weight off their scale to move it to somewhere else. Which just makes the situation worse.
This is turn creates a butterfly effect for people to either become "SJW", or for people to become the oppressors. It makes the situation worse and everything is a pity party now. Nobody is appreciate for what they have, nobody wishes to or wants to empathize anymore,
I'm not nessarily a "SJW", but I'm not going to bite my tongue on things which are clearly not right.
Call me an "SJW" for saying that gay porn is racist, especially to black people. Call me an "SJW" for saying that men should be allowed to wear makeup and dresses. Call me an "SJW" for saying that Muslim women have the right to wear a burka or not. I don't give a fuck.
I don't think you should be surprised. Most of the people on this site are old white guys who have lived their entire lives pretending to be straight (aka they've lived under hetero white cis male privilege). While others (ie SJWs) were advancing rights for gay people, trans people, etc they were still acting like teenagers and repressing their sexuality. These people have never experienced discrimination due to their sexual orientation let alone gender or race and probably aren't even out. They hang out on these torrent websites to download porn because they are too afraid to even find someone to have sex with in real life.
This is the most insightful post in the thread so far. Even though misogyny is a major factor in homophobia and anti-gay hatred, many gay men do not make the connection or examine the role of sexism in their own lives.
He is ugly and apparently unable to find someone his own age who will agree to fuck him.
I'm not sure when social justice became a dirty word, but social justice activists/warriors/whatever are largely responsible for winning the freedoms that millions of LGBT people enjoy today.
There is nothing wrong with minorities (ethnic, sexual or otherwise) having spaces or affinity groups where they can openly discuss controversial topics without fear of harassment. It may make you uncomfortable, but we should resist the urge to impose political correctness on speech we don't like.
