    • WHY DID IT TAKE 67 MINUTES TO GET FROM THE 31ST FLOOR TO THE 32ND FLOOR???

      It is incredible that in the eyes of the media, the only relevant story at the moment is the Las Vegas massacre.  Everything else h as been forgotten.

      It was dark out, so spotting the flashes was almost instantaneous.
      It took a full 73 minutes -   10:08PM to 11:21PM before they went into the room
      The police DID arrive there rapidly.  At 10:14PM, just 6 minutes after they knew where the shots were coming from, they had officers on the 31st floor saying they could hear the shooter one floor above on the 32nd floor.
      SO WHY DID IT TAKE 67 MINUTES TO GET FROM THE 31ST FLOOR TO THE 32ND FLOOR????
      Keep in mind that if Kim Dung Heap launched an ICBM at New York City, it would hit in just 40 minutes!  That kind of puts things in perspective.

      10:08 p.m.
      There are reports “of multiple shots being fired from the direction of the Mandalay Bay towards the Route 91 concert that was taking place on the East side of Las Vegas Boulevard,” Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said Monday, per Deadline.
      “I see the shots coming from Mandalay Bay, halfway up!” someone says in police scanner audio published by Broadcastify.

      10:14 p.m.
      An officer indicates in the audio, “I'm inside the Mandalay Bay on the 31st floor, I can hear the automatic fire coming from one floor ahead, one floor above us.”

      11:20 p.m.
      Around this time, the Times reports, authorities use a device to breach a Mandalay Bay room. Newsweek says the device is used at 11:21 p.m.

      He should get together with Casey Anthony.

      There actually is more to that Casey Anthony case.  I don't feel like researching it all again, but basically the little girl accidentally drowned, and the grandfather hid the body.  It seems like the police may have attempted to frame Casey by putting duct tape over the mouth of the decomposing body of Caylee.

      @aadam101:

      Mistake?  The Republican supports abortion for his mistress but wants to strip away the rights of other women.

      That is the moonbat perspective of it.

      My perspective is that the man should be criticized for having a mistress and having an abortion while being anti-abortion.
      Your perspective is that the man should be criticized for being anti-abortion and you think people should be having abortions.

      One of those perspectives is a ticket to hell if there is a hell.

    • RE: Las Vegas Massacre - police didn't stop shooter for 72 minutes from first alert!

      @cteavin:

      @Frederick:

      This is unbelievable!
      It took a full 72 minutes from the time the police were notified of the shootings until they FINALLY got to the man - who had already killed himself!   Who knows how many would have been killed had the man kept shooting.  He ran out of machine gun ammunition!
      Whether the police arrived in 72 minutes or 72 hours… it would not have mattered, because the man had already killed HIMSELF by the time they showed up!  THE POLICE WERE COMPLETELY USELESS!  So, how can anybody say that the police were HEROES?

      http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/10/03/police-took-72-minutes-from-first-emergency-call-to-reach-las-vegas-shooter.html

      I'll bite.

      Though I tend to agree that hero is overly used that they were actively trying to help people during a shooting is why they're being called heroes, just as all the civilians who helped have been.

      As I've read the facts, the guns the shooter was using were powerful enough to hit their mark from very far away. When the shooting started no one could have imagined that they were coming from way down the street. The first-hand reports I've read said the people on the ground thought the bullets were coming from someone on the street.

      The attack was unprecedented.

      The facts are still coming in. Jumping to conclusions and blaming the police isn't the answer. Let the events unfold to see the complete, or more complete, timeline.

      That is what I initially thought.. however, this morning they were playing the recordings of the police communications.  They were very nervous and almost panicking.. and they spotted the flashes coming from the Mandalay Hotel shortly after the shooting began.  There is no excuse for them to take 72 minutes to reach the guy.

      As for them helping the victims.. that is their job.
      I will add one thing though.. Firemen are quite a bit different from police.  They go into hyperdrive whenever the alarm sounds.  In fact, firemen often go into high gear only to find out it's a false alarm.  Police however, drag their asses when a call goes out.  They hope that all the action is over with by the time they arrive.

    • CNN continues to be the King of Fake News

      Some moonbat at NBC claimed that Secretary of State Tillerson called Trump a "moron".  It's fascinating that only this NBC reporter knows about this.  Assuming that Tillerson did say that, how would the NBC reporter know?
      hmm..

      Anyway.. CNN then has a bold headline stating that Tillerson called Trump a Moron.. but when you go to the article, it says this "Rex Tillerson kind of, sort of just admitted he called Trump a 'moron' "

      Can you imagine Walter Cronkite saying something like that in one of his news reports?    Something like this maybe.. "This is Walter Cronkite reporting..  we have reports of gunshots ringing out in the motorcade of president Kennedy and we are kind of, sort of confirming that he is dead.. maybe.."

      Talk about someone covering their ass!

    • Professor Moonbat explains how the Vegas massacre is all Trump's fault

      According to the moonbats, racism never existed before Trump was elected.
      Also, whenever a white person commits a crime, it is because they are racist.
      Finally, only white people are racists.

      http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/10/03/professor-blames-las-vegas-massacre-on-trumpism-narrative-white-victimization.html

      Ciccariello-Maher stirred up controversy this past spring, tweeting that he wanted to “vomit” after watching a first-class passenger give up his seat to a uniformed solider.
      and… Professor Ciccariello-Maher said last December the only thing he wanted for Christmas was “white genocide”

      @aadam101:

      @Frederick:

      @aadam101:

      @Frederick:

      You hit on something else too.. if someone lives in one state, and purchases their health insurance in that state.. What happens when that person moves to another state?  Or even if they are just on vacation in another state?  Or overseas?

      That all depends.  For most people healthcare is tied to employment so if they move to another state they probably have a new job or they have an insurer that operates in multiple states.

      ObamaCare plans are actually sold at the COUNTY level.  If you don't live in a county where that plan is sold you need to change plans.  You are allowed to change plans.

      Generally, all plans offer emergency coverage out of state.  Most plans do not offer ANY type of coverage out of the country.  Medicare has some limited circumstances in which it can be used in Canada but no other country.

      ,

      hmm..  if someone moves to another country.. I am sure they still get their social security checks / benefits,  but I bet they lose their medicare benefits.  They take money out of mt dad's ss before he ever sees it.  If he moved to another country, I wonder if they would continue to talke $$ from his ss to pay for medicare that he isn't getting.

      Here's a wild idea..   put a tax on tobacco that is used to fund cancer treatments.

      You don't have to be enrolled in Medicare.  You can cancel. You can continue to get SS if you are out of the country.  I've seen people with US Social Security and Social Security from another country.  They worked enough in both countries to get both.

      Hmm.. I wonder if some elderly people, such as those who have a DNR or live in a hospice cancel their medicare?

      Hospice is a Medicare benefit so that is doubtful.  Very few people actually go to a Hospice center.  Those services are usually provided at home or in a nursing home.  Hospice is short term.  Generally people who need Hospice services will die pretty quickly.

      You don't HAVE to be on medicare to be in a hospice.  A hospice is basically a place to go for elderly - not necessarily even physically ill - where they are kept comfortable - sometimes just as a vacation for their caregivers.  No surgeries or other life-extending procedures are done.

      The family values party is at it again! Pennsylvania Rep. Tim Murphy a prominent pro-life Republican recently told his mistress to go get an abortion.  I guess he didn't want his wife to find out…..

      Today he voted for an anti-abortion bill!

      He was right to be politically opposed to abortion.  His mistake was to have a mistress, get her pregnant, and tell her to get an abortion.  What he did is hypocritical, and he should be replaced.

      What is far more significant is that the leftist moonbats actually SUPPORT having abortions done.. without guilt.. upon demand.. paid for by the taxpayers, even up until the very day of delivery!

      The MISTAKE of a republican is the STATUS QUO / NORMAL for the democrats!

      It's worth noting that his father was a bank robber who was on the FBI Most Wanted list.  The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

      This isn't Trumps fault.  This is the fault of the GOP.  They did nothing five years ago after a group of five year olds was blown away by a psycho.  They won't do anything this time around either.

      I'm not a fan of guns.  I think the UK has the right idea where even the police don't have guns.  I think the argument in this country is that there are plenty of gun laws.. but they are not enforced.

      I agree with aadam, if they didn't do anything after Sandy Hook, they won't do anything after Las Vegas.

      In Japan, the police don't carry guns. If you're one of the few that can get a gun for hunting there's a strict procedural: First, you must pass a test and retake that test every few years; the police come to your home each time you take that test; you have to prove you are mentally sound.

      The police have to request permission to check a gun out from the station and every bullet is (supposed to be) accounted for. In all my years here there has only been one shooting and that was between Yakuza in Kyusyu.

      Japan has the right idea on gun control!

      Singer Tom Petty died of cardiac arrest today.

      My hunch is that they will find cannabis (marijuana) in his system.

      Meaning…   ?:blond:?

      Meaning, like Davy Jones of the Monkees, seemingly healthy people in their 60s don't have fatal heart attacks these days unless there were some drugs involved.  I wonder if he had a history of chest pains?

      Smoking pot can increase your heart rate by as much as two times for up to 3 hours. That’s why some people have a heart attack right after they use marijuana. It can increase bleeding, lower blood pressure, and affect your blood sugar, too.

      It's the topics that people that misidentify as racist, sexist, phobic that will get you into trouble these days. Cops, there's a long history of calling them pigs. Local officials, I can't think of a career-ending sentence.

      That reminds me of that cop that I used to be friends with who later had his sister murder someone for him, etc  I once called him a "pig" as a joke, but he didn't take it that way.  He got VERY angry.  At the time, I didn't understand why, but later realized.. I had struck a raw nerve.. because he was a "bad cop" and he knew it.

      Yeah, it's unfortunate. We're going to have the national gun debate again. Tax reform might pass because people are both distracted and disheartened. And if and when we find out the shooter was a leftist, oh gawd, the divide will grow as if Moses were parting it.

      I can't think of any reason why anybody in the country, including cops, should be able to buy or possess fully automatic weapons.  Other than the military, what possible purpose could a fully automatic weapon have?

      If Sandy Hook didn't get gun legislation through then the Las Vegas incident won't, either. The only thing that could possibly push it through is for a shooter to open fire at an NRA convention and kill that SOB who's leading it.

      I disagree, but the reason a reason to allow the sale of automatic weapons is to defend ourselves in case our government overreaches and we need a new American Revolution. If the British had abolished guns for the colonists we'd likely still be under the crown.

      It's interesting that the moonbats completely ignored the issue of gun control when Chicago (Obama's backyard) became a shooting gallery.
