@Eridanos:
UK voted (well most people in the UK voted) to leave the European Union. It was the mayority's will so Theresa May has to respect that. The funny thing I find is that all those separatists politicians didn't have the balls to take the mantle in this cumbersome process.
Trump is a sign of the polarization in the USA, it also shows how the Left failed to care for American society as a whole.
Regarding both topics, considering UK's circumstances, I'd rather have all those who oppose the country to have a trade agreement with USA just because Trump is a loudmouth, misogynistic and whatever asshole, to reconsider. UK will need many trade agreements and USA is just such a ripe market…America consumes and wastes like no other country.
That's the reason Mexico won't give up relationships with USA so easily...an increase of 25% exports to USA generates more income that a 50% increase in our exports with the rest of Latin America (yes, building trade agreements with other countries as a safety net is the ideal and most sensible thing to do, but the American market is just too voracious and good to just leave without trying)
Precisely.
What's happening in the West is a result of decades of politicians not listening to their constituents. People wouldn't become so extreme if politicians didn't turn everything into elitism, nepotism, corruption, born into power.
