@LonelyBoy26 said in What should I do if I change my IP?:
I hope to hit the category. I am going to change my address, so I don't know if I can keep my account or I have to make a new one because of the change, that is, I will move to a place with another internet.
That's a very good question, I understand your concern with changing your IP/move, but rest assured, we are able to see on the backend that you are using a new connection.
The only potential side effect is you might get hit by the auto-warning system for "multiple accounts" but that's easy enough to fix on our end. We have a toggle switch that tells the automatic system to go pound sand. However, you may also get hit with the manual warning if you're in a huge cluster but again, that is easily resolved by opening a helpdesk request and one of our lovely Dupe Warriors will take a look at it. (There's only a handful of us so it may take a day).
If you have any more concerns, feel free to reach out to me directly here: https://www.gaytor.rent/sendmessage.php?receiver=1608410 and I can speak with you privately about this.

italicised textI reported the same issue to support a couple of days ago, and got a reply that well wasn't what I expected to be honest...it made me feel like I wasn't paying for stuff and that I should "enjoy the free porn" (quote from the reply from support).
I understand the issue they are currently having with two domain names etc. but surely it should have been sorted by now?
My experience on this site of late hasn't been positive and as I've been on here for a very long time now, I guess I'll be looking for a site that at least has helpful support guys in the near future.
I just took a look at the response you got from the helpdesk. While it could have been worded a little nicer, I feel like you skipped over the meaning of the message. We are working as hard and fast as we can to fix bugs like this, but we are a small team of people. We are not a company with hundreds or thousands of employees. Last time I checked, I believe there are 11 staff currently working on the site. Some of which have real life things going on so they're not as active.
The quote of "Enjoy the free porn" wasn't meant to be mean but I can see why you feel that way. It was meant more of a "please be patient" because again, we are a skeleton crew trying to make everything ready for the full switch over.
Also sidenote: You are able to log into both sites at the same time, you don't have to log out and back in. I'm signed into both right now; Mod panel using .rent and the forums responding to you on .ru.
It seems you resolved it yourself.

Hello,
We are working on fixing this I promise.
If you end up uploading a torrent with duplicates, just open a helpdesk ticket and a moderator can remove the dupes. (I honestly don't know if users can remove their own pictures, if they can, disregard what I said)
Thanks

I'm having this problem and to be honest I'm giving up.
It isn't worth it trying to get images uploaded. There are various suggestions for size limits etc. but for me they don't make any difference.
Um... @kalayaan (a "Global Moderator") has said the site admins are aware and are trying to fix...
Of course, it it's not fixed in 5-10 minutes, you may as well take all your toys and go home? HAVE SOME PATIENCE
Unless I'm mistaken, NO ONE makes money off of this site... give them time to figure it out! This site has worked well (almost flawlessly) for 15+ years that I know of - where something broke will likely be the hard part... fixing it may take only a moment, but knowing WHAT to fix... aye, there's the rub!
I can personally attest that this is being actively investigated and attempted fixes are being implemented. Software management isn't an easy task, especially when it's custom coding behind the scenes.
This is a known issue, but in the mean time, please try uploading JUST one picture at a time. You are able to add more photos once it's uploaded.
Only downside of this workaround is that it requires a moderator to approve the additional photos but everyone on the staff can handle picture approvals so it shouldn't be too long.
Sorry for the inconvenience

@lololulu19 Oh. I just looked and there's 179 different ones up on the site, I'll subtract a handful because I can see duplicates that are in the mod section so I'll guess around... 160 left?
I know you're upset about the content you like being removed, but I've lost count of how many times you have said the same thing and have been accusatory toward other users for "abusing DMCA" because they do not min-max their ratios and have lower traffic than other Power Users.
Also: the date the message was sent would be the start date, going off the helpdesk ticket I'd estimate it's been 8 days?
@lololulu19 I don't understand where you are getting the "Can no longer upload". The message you received gave you an exact timeline on the upload restriction...
I also have no idea what studio you're referring to.
The first post you are referencing is left over from when we did have a request section.
There are reasons behind the scene that the request section was removed, but all those reasons were disclosed to staff and not intended for the general public.
I'm asking around to see if there is an alternate place for requests to go because recently people have been flooding different sections of the site with them. I will either update this post, or make a new thread when something is worked out.
We understand the frustration with the removal of requests since every staff member of the site started as a user but the request came from the top and we have to respect his wishes.

I personally use one of these:
https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards-Components/Optical-Drives/External-Blu-ray-Drive/BW-16D1X-U/
It CAN read 4k UHD, but you have to do some more technologically advanced stuff like flashing the firmware...
I've been using mine for about 2 years now to rip blu-rays to put on a movie server so I know from experience it works.
So I have some anecdotal evidence suggesting that it's related to the uploading of pictures. I recommend when uploading (Using the web form, I cannot speak for QTM), when uploading pictures, SELECT ONE AT A TIME. Once the first one is uploaded, select another one. Continue until you have the correct amount.
The other option if you have already uploaded it, when you go back to your upload, there is a button to add more photos. They won't show up right away as they have to be approved, but that's another way around it
We already have a system in place that blocks VPN or proxies from registering. There is a whole group of staff whose job it is to check all the accounts and remove those who make it through.
The accounts with no activity are not the problem.
This discussion has become quite heated, so I'm locking this thread. The bottom line is: We (the site) have a policy in place, that you agreed to in the rules when you made your account (https://www.gaytor.rent/rules.php) that content will be removed when we receive a validated takedown request.
Further topics about this will be subsequently deleted and account warnings may be issued. You have received an answer from at least one staff member, if not more. It may not be the answer you like, but it's the answer we got from higher up.
@john32123666 Thank you for pointing this out,
I have sent a message over to our SysAdmin to try and sort this out. It appears the system is not resizing the files which is causing the "Too large" error message.

So I was the moderator that posted the "All accounts are automatically auto-approved at the moment", but I think there was a misunderstanding. The "Auto-Approval" is for their UPLOADS to be allowed, instead of going into a queue where a moderator has to verify everything about the upload.
Sure a few bad uploads slip through but they are quickly removed.
I know there are other sites where they require active logins, as well as uploading X amounts of torrents a month, but they're also FLOODED with duplicates from people just trying to hit their quota to keep their accounts.
We like to keep our uploads on the side of Quality over Quantity. I have personally removed about 40 duplicate torrents today, and countless others in the previous days.
As for the topics of invites/how people are joining, We have a lottery for new signups (As well as users who are inviting others). I can look in the backend of the website and see how EACH and EVERY account was created. Yours for example was created during a period of open sign-ups.
You have very strong opinions about how the site should be run and I understand that, but there is a reason we are the largest site for this type of content.

I don't have an exact timeline, but it's in the works
@goodblowjob I will forward this over to the correct people to potentially set this up.
The switch over to gaytor.rent was fast tracked by current world events so it's fully functional, but there may be bugs here and there.
When you run into this errors, please make staff aware by sending a helpdesk request here: https://www.gaytor.rent/helpdesk.php and selecting the "Other" option.

Hello
So, ALL accounts are automatically auto-approved at the moment. We use a system that gives everyone the option to share, but we can restrict that ability if an uploader does not follow our rules, or uploads too many duplicates.
Little behind the scenes info: (shh don't tell my boss ) We don't have to remove auto-approval very often.
I appreciate you reading the forums for information, but a good chunk of that information is no longer valid as we use different systems that work differently. It's good to read up though and be prepared. (I've read all the moderator posts since about 2010 and was in a shock when I went in to do the work behind the scenes).
The Rules however, are almost the same, with the exception of a handful of additions that can be found here: https://community.gaytorrent.ru/topic/58021/site-changes-7-march-2022?_=1649215099546
If you have any more questions, feel free to reach out My username is the same on the torrent side. If you are unable to message me, reply to this and I'll send a message first

Hello everyone,
I have written this message several times and it all comes down to the central message:
Staff DO NOT discuss DMCA actions. This is handled by the administrators and staff cannot even see what was removed.
The other addition: Helpdesk cannot unlock the upload rights. The restriction is placed higher than our powers can reach. I do not mind answering your helpdesk queries, but I can promise you the answer is going to be the same.
Thank you,
