    • RE: For a million dollars would you?…

Not clear on this- if it means giving up social life meaning friends/family- in person,, but I get to maintain other contact- ie internet/online connection. Then the answer is yes. But if it means all forms of contact and live as an isolated hermit- then no.

For a million dollars- would you give up your sense of humor. You will never find anything funny, ever.

    • RE: Carrie Fisher dead @ 60

All the deaths this year-the bitter dissolution of our childhoods- our past slowly slipping away, and a stark reminder of our own inevitable mortality waiting a heartbeat away.

      RIP Carrie Fisher.

I remember seeing that video! He was impressive back then, and I'm glad he's still performing.

    • RE: Best porn studio?

I tend to agree- it depends on mood for me too.

If I feel like some really hot, professional, well-produced porn, my go-to studios tend to be: BelAmi, Helix, Sean Cody and Corbin Fisher.

But other times I get tired of the overproduced feel and just head over to the Amateur section and grab a bunch of raw videos from there.

    • RE: Being gay in Asia

So this thread seems to have morphed into a sort of discussion on the merits of marriage.

Personally, while I understand some of those who have no interest in marriage, I feel that it's an important institution not because of the inherent heteronormativity- but because of the deeper symbolism. It's a significant celebration of commitment between two people. It's powerful because of what it represents, as well as all the benefits that society has heaped on it as part of supporting that level of commitment.

Sure you could quietly stay together as a couple without ever getting married- but for others it matters because it helps them proudly have their commitment recognized by their community and by the legal institutions which can protect their commitment to each other.

Back on topic- living in a country with a strong Catholic presence that meddles in all aspects of life- it isn't likely to be legalized here anytime soon. But the recent level of acceptance in other countries is encouraging. I'm confident someday it will be possible.

Done! I'd give them up. I was never big on alcohol anyway.  😉
For a million dollars would you– become a strict vegetarian: give up all meat for the rest of your life?

    • RE: Sense8

I loved it! Aside from the attractive cast, and super hot sex scenes- it was a series that touched on how interconnected humanity really is.

They took great pains to film at the actual countries to capture what makes each place unique. Life can be very different depending on where you happen to be born- but the things that really matter are the same for each one of us.

Season 2 will be coming soon and I can't wait!

    • RE: Are you attracted to guys who wear glasses?

It's true- there's something about the face and the choice of glasses that just works. The proper combination can push the looks from good to exceptional. (I can say that Blake and Will really look much hotter with than without for example).

    • RE: What game genre you like?

      I've been crazy for Action RPG's since I played Diablo 2.  >:D

Right now, the ARPG that I've been obsessing over for a couple years now is Path of Exile.

    • RE: Are you attracted to guys who wear glasses?

I never really found it particularly hot, that is until Blake Mitchell came along. Then soon after, I discovered Will Braun!
Now they're among my current favorites, so I guess the attraction of glasses- on certain guys- is there!  ;D

So sad to hear about this.  :cry2: It's heartbreaking how bad this year has been-with all the talented people that have been taken too soon.
RIP George, and thank you for the music.

    • RE: All alone on Christmas Eve

Focus on the things you can do for other people in your life. Happiness comes back to us when we make others around us happy. And if you are alone, then take the moment to treat yourself kindly- enjoy your time alone and count your blessings.
You may find someone to share your life with- but at least for now focus on becoming the best version of yourself you can be.

      Merry Christmas to you!

    • RE: Who is the best person to come out to ?

When I came out it was to my closest friends first. They were the ones who gave me the support and built my confidence so I could come out to my parents- mom first, then dad. Then my brother.

It can be different depending on who you feel closest to. Go with someone who you feel accepts you for who you are. Once you've got someone on your side, it gets easier.

    • RE: Fat people going to the Gym

(I'm pretty much in total agreement with larynx and Domosuke in their comments) You don't need the gym to get started. You could spend some time just going for long walks- and most importantly- adjusting what you eat and how much you eat. Let go of sugary foods, beer, and processed food. Vegetables and chicken breasts are your best friends! A shift in how you eat not starving yourself is a vital part of keeping the weight away.

Another key component is consistency. I can't stress that enough- do something you can sustain and build on. Too many stories begin with an enthusiastic gym routine that slowly fades into a return to old habits.

It's more important to do something you genuinely enjoy. For me, it's swimming. I actually look forward to it. And that's how I'm able to keep doing it long term. Find something you enjoy and stick to it. Then once you've lost a bit of weight you can finally start a gym routine with more confidence. Good luck!

      @motri:

What are your or your family's holiday food plans? specifically for christmas(if you celebrate) and new years(if applicable)?
      Mine is
      Christmas:
      Ossu Bucco
      Yorkshire Pudding
      and Creme Brulee

      and New years:
      Rib roast
      Croquembouche

Wow! That's an awesome menu! Are you in Manila? And would you be accepting an extra guest? :cheesy2:

We usually have the traditional ham, queso de bola, BBQ, and pancit for Christmas. And more of the same for New Year- maybe some Adobo  and Leche Flan as well. Our menu is very pinoy.  😄

Eridanos- I've always been wanting to try Cod- never had the chance yet. Sounds like you enjoy it.  ;D

    • RE: Lucifer - what do you think?

I'm still hoping that a proper adaptation of the comic series will happen someday- maybe done by Netflix. For now, I enjoy the series for what it is- a fun, sexy police procedural with supernatural elements thrown in.

      Rogue One: 8.5/10

This is the best Star Wars movie since Empire Strikes Back. Perhaps it hits a bit too close to home in the way it captures how a true rebellion would feel and act when fighting a superior force like the Empire. It has light moments but at its heart it is about the ugliness of war packaged in cool sci-fi trappings.
The actors did an excellent job- and the droid for this movie K-2SO puts BB-8 to shame. Watch it on the big screen, you won't regret it!
