Well, I can't say I'm surprised… but if this is the case, why would the school even bother holding a "social justice" type event.

RE: Body hair
I love body hair, but I prefer it tamed specially in the pubes.
I'd have to agree. Tame the bush, but chest hair?
Hell yea. Lead me to it -
"A Hawk Named Hillary"
I have to say, I have always viewed Hillary as a hawk, but only in the most pro-active of ways. Of course when a Democrat is strong on defense, be it foreign or domestic, they go :crazy2:. She did vote for the Iraq war, which, yes, I know it will be 2016. I still think that vote will be made issue again in the presidential race. With Benghazi firmly put down as any kind of fodder for conspiracy nuts, the GOP will begin looking elsewhere for things to file under "Reasons to Hate Hillary".

Graphene shows promise for bulletproof armor
This should prove useful to you prepper types (wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survivalism) out there. Or anyone who is averse to being injured while suffering collisions with high-speed projectiles.
This man needs that kind of protection. So he can protect you. Do it. For him.Source: http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-30246089

I don't mind them, but I would never get one myself.

RE: Would You Date….Him?
He could maybe use a topical… maybe some bacitracin?
Little too much kink for me.

Ebola test offering 15-minute results on trial in Guinea
It's a solar-powered portable laboratory! I mean, how cool is that?? We need more hand-held medical diagnostic devices, imho. Your average person should be able to purchase a moderately priced multi-faceted diagnostic unit that can be refitted as needed. And solar-powered!

RE: US: The 6th Circuit Court of Appeals upholds gay marriage bans
Just wondering, but you are in the United Kingdom and the Supreme Court upheld marriage for gays, why do you care about "The States"?
Wow what an ignorant comment. We have enough people who don't care about us. We don't need more indifference or at the very least, lack of compassion from people in the same community (which itself is a dubious term).
I agree. An injustice is an injustice.

RE: European Parliament votes to split Google search from its other businesses
The Ma Bell break up would be exactly what I would liken it to. The internet is a utility. Everyone knows it. It's only a matter of time before it is treated as such.

European Parliament votes to split Google search from its other businesses
It makes me think back to the Microsoft anti-trust lawsuits. I don't understand how a company wouldn't return its own search results, but I can see why the argument is being made. I think in the case of Google, there are such a diverse number of products being made there, it's hard for them not to become so inextricably linked that such a situation would occur.
You have been warned.Source: http://mashable.com/2014/11/27/european-parliament-google-search/

Squeezing into OMsignal's smart shirt of the future
Okay, when I saw this article I was thinking: Who cares? But look at the model that have wearing that shirt and tell me you don't give two craps about a biometric smart shirt now.
Bam. That's right. I thought you cared.Source: http://www.engadget.com/2014/11/26/omsignal-smart-shirt/

Twitter will track which apps you use on your phone
That's right, Twitter wants to see what you've been using on your smartphone/tablet, but for a most noble cause: making more money ::) >:D
Though they swear they won't collect data within other apps and will warn you (us), the world(?) when they start their monitoring. This is just all wrong.Source: http://www.engadget.com/2014/11/26/twitter-tracking-apps/

RE: US: The 6th Circuit Court of Appeals upholds gay marriage bans
YEP, that's right, we now have our Constitutional crisis requiring the US Supreme Court to rule on marriage equality.
In the 2-1 decision, they said that courts, judges and lawyers shouldn't be the heroes of the gay civil rights movement, but that individual people should be the heroes. The also said that the civil rights process needs to follow the traditional path of going their the government, not the courts.
Of course they ignored the countless civil rights cases that have been settled throughout US history.
It's just sad that we are going to see a challenge in any event. It has been so refreshing to watch the Courts of Appeal strike down the cases one by one. But now to see this happen. I guess I always knew that there would be ONE case that would definitely make it to the SCOTUS. I just want marriage equality for all in our country.

DNA survives critical entry into Earth's atmosphere
Some amazing news out of the University of Zurich this past week: scientists ran an experiment to determine if microbial DNA could make the journey into space, and back into the atmosphere on the outside of a rocket, and still survive. The result; it can! In an amazing discovery, the DNA not only came back alive, it was able to pass on genetic information.
This is quite a breakthrough in the way we look at how life spreads around the universe. More interesting, it gives us more insight on the possible biological beginnings of life on Earth.

A Science Sub-folder?
I think the forums would benefit from a Science sub-folder either in General News or under Religion & Philosophy. Although, science is big enough to stand on its own. I'll make my science-like posts in here. Not technology, but more pure science.

Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei Not Opposed To Extension Of Nuclear Talks
It's a good thing that Iran isn't opposed to talks. When the talking breaks down is when bad things happen. I would be amazing if the IAEA was given unfettered access, and the economic sanctions lifted and have that be that. But when Iran is involved, there is always lingering doubt that anything productive will actually happen.

RE: Sex on the first date??
I tend to wait until after the 2nd date, at least. Mostly, it's a feeling of how we are clicking. I've been successfully woo'ed  but I also enjoy a modestly paced dating game. I like the chase for a time. I think everybody does. Not game playing, but just the excitement of meeting someone new and all that that entails.

Really? No conviction in Darren Wilson case in Missouri, US? Wow…
I guess I can't really say I'm shocked. I'm not satisfied either. There is such a low threshold for indictment for a grand jury. No probable cause? Really? An entangled prosecutor who refused to recuse himself from the case… just tragic.
And then! To declare a preemptive state of emergency for a non-natural disaster event; it was just setting up the dominoes for a social disaster. Who ever is running this show is running it wrong.
From top to bottom, the authorities who have handled this at the highest levels have botched the reaction to this situation in too many ways.
