Honestly. I mean, even though he says it in a chipper voice and with a seemingly happy demeanor – the words that are coming out of him mouth are scary. Like he's the Almighty or something. Sad.

Kirk Cameron tells everyone how to 'witness to gays'
Kirk Cameron of "Growing Pains" fame, and noted Christian appears in this video montage of how to witness – or preach the Gospel -- to GLBT people. Essentially, tell them they are going straight to Hell and that they need to stop their sinful ways. Just more of the "God hates Fa*s" bull that we always here. There is one particularly interesting clip when he mentions that "we have to witness to our gay friends.." and it kind of trails off as if he's disgusted to even utter the phrase "gay friends." It's all pretty sad, really; but nothing that I wouldn't expect from Mr. Cameron. Tolerance is not in his dictionary, and you can straight up forget about acceptance or even compassion.

RE: Coming out to children??
In the US, I would say if your kid is in school, they probably get it by now. But I think there most definitely an element of the appropriate timing of a conversation. I know one friend whose 7 year old son just up and asked him one day, "Daddy, do you, you know, like like Steve? Because if you do, you should probably tell him."
It was his way of encouraging his single father to pursue a relationship with someone that he knew my friend enjoyed spending time with. In fact, the three of them would often do things together, like go to the zoo, and the movies.
I think a lot of the language is out there now, for kids. They can identify GLBT characters in media, and it is part of conversation more so than at any time. But I think really, only you know your kid. But I will say, they are pretty smart.

RE: Why do some gay men, lesbians, and bisexuals tell people about their sexual orie
And if you're partnered, playing the "pronoun game" (i.e. using gender-neutral pronouns when discussing your significant other) is very tedious. And people can often tell when someone is gay, so being closeted is delusional anyway.
Yeah, I'm not a fan of the pronoun game. It can be helpful when you have a co-worker who is… less receptive to "alternative lifestyles". But with the current political movement (in the US) toward marriage equality throughout the entire Union, co-workers and colleagues are beginning to realize that people they have known GLBT people for decades and are only now giving them the same respect in marriage that their heterosexual friends have enjoyed since the inception of the nation.
That was kind of a sprawling statement. But I guess I was trying to get through that, although GLBT people have existed forever in the workplace, marriage equality has extended the acknowledgment that being GLBT is socially acceptable. It's a hard sell for some people. Especially in rural settings.
