I don't know if this would be possible but it would be nice when checking the  Show seeding torrents option if the actual total amount of MB or GB per upload being seeded for each torrent uploaded from the start of the seeding until you finally stop.  I know that in Bittorrent there is a running total of amount uploaded (seeded) for these torrents but the amount in bittorrent never seems to reflect the amount I've seeded in terms of your total amount for all seeding you have done. The numbers just don't add up for me.  Keep in mind that I am a relative new user and am learning so I might have missed something.  :hmmm: Don't want to put a load of work on the admins and/or moderators so if it can't be programmed to do automatically then just ignore my request! :thx:

I am unclear about the issue of Duplicate torrents.  Before uploading a new torrent I do a search for the title before uploading my own torrent.  So I am surprised when notified that my torrent has been deleted as it's a duplicate.  When doing my search I don't include dead torrents and am wondering if this is the problem?  Anyone know the answer or can offer advice?  Would really be appreciated.  :hmmm: :thx:

I agree that 500mb of pictures are worth a new torrent like you describe it.

What I meant was: nowerdays clips/movies come with 10 or 15 pictures at most and so an extra torrent with the size of 3mb is not necessary.

I don't have any problems with folks putting 10 or 15 pictures with a torrent myself and you're right an extra torrent for them would be a waste of time.  Where I get ticked is the 514 or worse yet over 2000 pictures with a couple multi media files thrown in!

Personally I would be interested in hearing your answers that were posted by PetShopBoys.  As a previously married man with children I agree totally with the points being raised by PetShopBoys and can remember that time in my life (closeted) and while the opportunity to fool around was there I too believed in being true to my marriage and the commitment to the person I married and took a pass.  When I finally got the guts to be first honest with myself and then my wife, I was pleased that the women I had married who was also my best friend supported me and was there to help me over the bumps of explaining to our children, our friends and families and is still today one of my best friends.  Just one more reason to be faithful to the one you're with, be they your wife or your husband.  The points being made can also be asked in relation to married men.. to each other….. How would you feel then?  Sure be interested to know? :hmmm:

As I said earlier  therefore the people uploading can instead upload 2 torrents, one with the multi media files in one and maybe a note stating they have also included a upload of their photos to the images category which if I'm not mistaken is where they belong in the first place.  Today I found a torrent with 2123 files 4 of which were multi media and the remainder being pictures.  I don't raise this point to gain points ("You can seed what you have downloaded but you will never show as completed (no category vote there") as frankly when I do a category vote I generally give the seed point given to me plus additional ones to the uploader.  My point is to have the images in the proper category and not in multi media.  Just imagine if we all started to do this and followed your advice to just download the media files and ignore the image files.  Besides the waste of time to go through 2123 files just to find the media files, we'll all be downloading partial torrents.  Imagine the mess this will create for the site not to mention the ticked of members needing to sort through these torrents for what the want?  If that's your solution to ignore the pictures and download just he media files lets just make it easier and do away with the image category and we can all start downloading only partial torrents.  I'm sure that will make everyone happy!  :hmmm:  And by the way cannonmc  I have always found your advice helpful and your advice has helped me immensely as I've learned my way around the site and while I respect your views…..  I definitely don't agree with you on this issue, but thanks for at least posting your thoughts.... I know that I can do that but as I understand it, you cannot then seed the download if you only download part of it.  If this information is wrong please let me know and then I will follow your advice.  I try to seed for a couple of days until I've at least seeded a 1 to 1 ratio or more before stopping the seeding torrent.  But that is not the point, there is a category of torrents for images and I believe that this is where the 514 pictures should be, not included in a torrent for multi media files.  Otherwise, why bother to have a category for images at all?   :thx:

Personally I am getting a little (a LOT) ticked off with the torrents for multi media files being filed with picture files.  The torrent in question that got me started in my rant is a torrent that contains 514 picture files - 3 of the files in this torrent were multi media files totalling less than half the size of the torrent 1.10 GB.  I thought there was a category that was for posting images and I believe this is where these files in this torrent should be posted.  Are these people so desperate for bonus and seeding points that they sneek around the rules by putting all these pictures into one torrent so if you want the multi media files you also need to download more than 500MB of picture files to get them?  Please….. PLEASE stop abusing the rules and upload your pictures into the image category so those people who truly want them (and I'm not one of those people), where they will be appreciated!  Give us all a break so we don't need to waste 500MB or more downloading pictures that are posted in the wrong category!    :thx:

yeah, that assumes that you actually watch the stuff you download right away. which i for one almost never do. so no rating from me most of the time. and thanking them for uploading alone seems rather pointless and arbitrary.

Even if you haven't watched the download it's nice when members are thanking us for uploading the torrent and encourages us to continue uploading more even without the seed points and I would disagree that it is pointless and arbitrary to say thanks.  Just a thought!  ;D

I think that's a great idea to do a cleanup of the themed movies.  If nothing else have Gay Themed and Straight Themed seperate because clearly there are a number of straight movies in the themed movies section.  Personally I don't have problems with regular movies being uploaded as torrents as I personally enjoy many of these movies, as well as the gay themed movies and have downloaded a number of them myself.  It would also make it SO MUCH EASIER to search for gay themed movies rather than find out after you have downloaded it thinking it was a gay themed movie that it wasn't.  I have to admit that I was one of those members who uploaded a straight movie and after seeding it I was surprised to see that more than 35GB of the file had been seeded from my bittorrent and it was clear the movie was just a regular movie, not gay themed.  Unfortunately after all the nasty comments, I just deleted the torrent just to stop them.  I didn't know at the time that only GLBT movies were to be uploaded but after asking for advice from a moderator who indicated he thought it was a good idea to delete it.  But….. I do believe there is a desire by some of the members to have more than just GLBT movies for downloading and possibly the site can do a survey of the members to get their views and/or suggeations.  Just a thought! :thx: ;D

I appreciate all the comments and glad to see (In a Sorry Way) that I'm not alone in having to deal with these people.  Fortunately one of the members PM'd me and explained to me how to be able to reply to these members directly.  It is not my intention to lower myself to their standard but rather to reply politely to their comments with the information they are ranting about and thanking them for their inquiry. While I agree the moderators here are great and very helpfull, I prefer to deal directly with these people… you know lead by example!  I'm not the type of guy that takes cheap shots at other people, so you can be sure it will be done politely.  Thanks again for the responses and advice.  Have a great day!

ive searched before posting this and It's a bit of a bugbear for me , so im just gonna rant for a wee while
Im wondering if the "themed movie " section of the torrents could be given a big sweep through with the broom so to speak and get rid of the things that arent actual gay themed movies , more and more ive noticed torrents that are snippets of movies or "scene's" or totally unrelated to a movie at all like instructional clips , im not saying delete them , maybe a miscellaneous section could be added to accommodate this kind of stuff.

another is language and subtitles , it would be a nice feature to have it compulsory to state if the movie is in English or another language , if it has sub's hard or soft , other sites have this as a requirement and no one has issues with it.
to make note , there was one movie, i  forget the name , but it was about a serial killer , 5 copies of it in the torrent section and not one comment that it had hard hardcoded arabic subs all over it ,smack bang in the middle of the screen , i have FTTP , so downloading is fairly quick , a few minutes but then you have to let it go to ensure you give back a good share ratio on a file that is rubbish.

the rest of the categories are spot on , but when it comes to Gay themed movies , its really really messy , full of duplicate after duplicate movie , non movies and clips that arent really relevant to a themed movie whatsoever.

I agree totally with everything you have said but I would like to suggest that possibly there could be an example of the kind of information that should be included in these themed movies possibly where the upload quides are posted.  I unfortunately was one of those who was not including this information when I first started to upload themed movies but one of the  moderators sent me an example of what I should be including in the torrent (easy to do once a person knows) and have been trying to do this since.  Thanks to the moderator who provided a link were I could get info on the movies I was uploading that basically contain all the needed info.  I must add it is nice to see someone deal with this issue in a courteous manner rather than sending a comment to give you SH_T.   :thx:

Personally I would like to see the ability to respond directly to people who leave comments, especially when they pose a question.  For those people who leave rude comments and hide behind a security wall that doesn't allow you to leave them a message as their security settings are such so you can't see anything and are also unable to send a message in response to theirs, it becomes very discouraging to continue uploading Themed movies.  As someone who has only belonged to the site for a year and took my time to learn about torrents, how to create and how to upload, read all the quides the moderators have been great about leaving for members to read, I only started uploading torrents in the past three months and recently starting uploading Themed Movies (have over 3TB of them) but after the nasty comments I have come to the conclusion that my themed movies would be better off on other sites where the members seem to appreciate them and don't send nasty comments from behind security walls.  Think About It and I'm sure I am not the only member who is ticked off about the lack of ability to respond to these people. :thx:

In your profile their is a list of all torrents you have downloaded and once you do view the torrent it is SO EASY to go to your list, click on the link and say thanks.  Personally I don't care if people give me seed points for my torrents as I receive them I give them away to members torrents I have downloaded, viwed and think it deserves some seed points to encourage them to continue posting good torrents. And by the way, by giving a thank you it is easy to check if this is a torrent you have already downloaded just in case you cannot remember all the torrents you have downloaded already.  Just a thought…. :thankyou:

First off, not sure where I should be posting this (sorry if this is the wrong place) but after searching for over an hour and getting more lost every minute this seems to be the only way I can seem to post anything so here goes.

I was wondering if it would be difficult for the board to keep an up to date amount of seeding amounts for torrents being uploaded.  Not sure how it works now but am confused when I go to check my uploaded torrents and see 0.00MB uploaded after I have been seeding for days at a time  :th:  (maybe I'm looking in the wrong spot?) but I try to keep seeding until I have reached at least 3 times the amount downloaded and am finding this as confusing as hell.  In spit of that I would also like to say that you have the best torrent site on the web…. THANKS!!!  :thankyou:

I have noticed the lack of users who take the time to say thanks for a torrent they have downloaded and hopefully enjoyed  As well, it takes a few seconds to rate the torrent which allows the rest of us to have a idea of whether or not the torrent is good or not (although I know this is baed on individual tastes).  For myself I don't really care if people award points for torrent I have uploaded as I use these points to give to other uploaders and if short on points at least I am able to award them the 2 points I receive for voting on their torrent so at least I can let the uploader know my appreciation and hopefully encourage them to keep uploading.  This is especially for those people who snatch the torrent and don't bother seeding - WHY?.  All the IP services I'm aware of don't charge anything for uploads just downloads, so would it hurt to seed for at least an hour or so to enable other members to download the torrent as well?  And for those members who vote, say thanks and seed, a big thank you from one member.. much appreciated! :cheers: :thankyou:
