Sometimes there are peers but you can't connect to them for whatever reason, something not on your end. You can wait for a peer to show up that you can connect to. One way to ensure that happens quickly is to make a torrent freeleech. That has never failed for me.

RE: Cant seed any thing
I had recently upgraded to Transmission 3.00. Then the problem started, and changing VPNs did nothing for me.
I downgraded to Transmission 2.94 and now it is working for meI've been using Transmission 3.00 on Mac since it updated automatically, without any problems. (I don't like the dark UI, though.)

RE: Can't seed anything on Mac
Thank you for explaining!
No problem. It looks like your upload amount is significant now!

RE: Duplicate suggestion..
I appreciate getting the points as a reward whether or not I actually need them.
The duplicate files have not been removed when I've checked after not getting points, but I was not checking for a long time so I don't know for sure.
The other thing I noticed is that when reporting duplicate files that are not 100% exactly the same, they don't get removed even though they meet the site's definition of duplicate files.
So it just seems very inconsistent.
I wouldn't have even brought it up because I know the mods are very busy just keeping the site up and running but I am glad someone else mentioned it! :cheesy2:

RE: Is It Possible To Do Torrent Inventory And Future Filtering?
It would be easier to simply ban collections. They have a lot of disadvantages that have been discussed here previously.

RE: Duplicate suggestion..
The "report a duplicate" feature on each torrent page allows users to report these things–I don't know how many reports are made, and whether our Gentle Moderators are able to keep up with them.
If I see a duplicate, I'll report it, and also make a comment to that effect with a link to the original torrent. Many users will seed the original.
I stopped reporting duplicates because most of the time, they weren't being removed and I wasn't being given credit for reporting them. I figure the mods are busy with higher priority tasks.

RE: "IMAGES FROM THIS STUDIO ARE NOT ALLOWED"
videos themselves: Images in a listing are actually contained on the gt.ru server, whereas the videos in a torrent are specifically not on a gt.ru server–they are on individual members' computers, hence the term "peer-to-peer" file sharing.
I had seen this on another tracker site and wondered about it. Now I understand why they will host the torrent but not allow pics. Thanks for the clear explanation!

RE: Can't seed anything on Mac
Does anyone have any insight on this?
You won't get any upload traffic if no one is downloading. Is anyone trying to download the torrents you are seeding? That's the most likely problem since it looks like you have only downloaded a few torrents. Try a newer freeleech torrent with lots of downloaders. Won't add to your download traffic during the freeleech period.
You have uploaded a small amount, so it's not that you haven't uploaded at all.

"IMAGES FROM THIS STUDIO ARE NOT ALLOWED"
While browsing, I noticed about 16 new torrents that were uploaded with just a generic photo that says "IMAGES FROM THIS STUDIO ARE NOT ALLOWED".
Example: https://www.gaytorrent.ru/details.php?id=076034b5a0ddfae36fddec564644bbb9a9952b8e33801873
Is it true that images from certain studios are not allowed now or did someone just do a run-around of the uploading rule requiring one good quality photo?

RE: Softcore not being labelled as Softcore
There seem to be torrents that are labelled as amateur, homemade (which have an image of sex on the thumbnail), solo (which presumes it's a solo scene with completion), etc. I'm running into torrents that are softcore, but not labelled for what they are. It seems deceptive so people can boost their ratio while uploading stuff people don't want. Can you make a rule that if there's no finish in the video (not the picture), or if it cuts past and just shows the after effect, it's labelled as what it is? It's annoying to download a gigabyte that pulls down your ratio and boosts theirs just to find out it was just something you can find on Google images or some dude's Instagram.
Thanks
There are a LOT of low-quality torrents submitted to improve ratios.
There's already a rule about accurate descriptions of torrents. If you run across one that is not accurately described, report it.
https://www.gaytorrent.ru/rules.php#102
11. Any information, e.g. the title, categories, pictures and description must correctly represent the content of the files shared with the torrent and avoid misleading members about the content. This applies as well to additions, votes or comments made by other members than the original uploader. In doubt, rather than providing wrong information, omit it.
At least one good quality picture is mandatory for the torrent presentation. -
RE: Seed Bonus??
As per the rules:
"Seed downloads to earn 0.5 seed bonus points per hour (exchange for upload credit)"
Is this per hour per torrent seeding?
or
Is it per user per hour bonus?Per user per hour. Adds up fast, though, if you seed 24/7/365.

RE: Need help with one torrent
What exactly seems to be the issue?
Well once I downlod the torrent, it just won’t start, all it says is ‘connecting to peers 0.0%’ and stays that way forever. I downloaded stuff from here many times and everything was fine but this one just won’t start. I’m pretty much a begginer here so sorry if I didn’t explain it that well
There are plenty of peers and your ratio is okay (for now) so there must be some problem on your end.
Try deleting the torrent file from your torrent software and re-downloading it from here and adding it again. Might help to close your torrent software and reopen it. -
RE: Duplicate Torrent
It is likely the torrent was promoted. Check the first line of the description for the original upload date.
I think of those as "recycled" instead of "promoted" because they have the recycle symbol in the title.

At least my opinions are based on well thought logic.
Ooof. :-X You certainly got me with that.

RE: Turn off the Trans category
Well, from the REAL gay people I speak to of all ages, I mean people who truly identify themselves as gay, despises straight porn. This bullshit "rainbow spectrum" idea many push is bogus!! I think the reality is many of those people are just bi-sexual. Plain and simple. I've been around too long to believe people that most are "sexually fluid." Total nonsense. Gay porn is relatively tiny in volume, in comparison to hetero-porn. It feels like an unnecessary invasion, because of a few lazy bi-sexual people who refuse to do a few extra clicks to a straight website.
If you started your own torrent site, you could approve every user to make sure they are "REAL gay people" and check every video to make sure it conforms to your definition of "REAL gay" porn. I encourage you to do that. Take control of your own happiness!

RE: Hello, Why are all my torrents stuck at "Finding Peers"?
I wanted to ask why already for 2 weeks i have about 6 different Downloads all stuck at "Finding Peers" not even connecting to Peers.
It's not unusual to not be able to connect to any peers if there are only a few. Making the torrent freeleech will attract other peers and then you should be able to connect to them. That's assuming that you have been able to connect to peers on at least one torrent. If you have not been able to connect to peers on any torrents, even those that have many peers, then something is wrong with your torrent software settings, firewall, internet connection, etc.
Is this the reason why it won't connect me to peers? because i am also not "seeding" anything?
Well, it looks like your ratio is under requirements (0.45) given your download amount. You need to seed in order to maintain a good ratio. That is probably the problem, but you could use the Helpdesk feature at the top of the page to contact a moderator to confirm that it is your ratio that is preventing you from downloading.

RE: Turn off the Trans category
These are throwaway generalizations, and using the same logic, I would never refer to a member who repeatedly writes the same yammering paragraph about his dislikes a "tired, boring fossil."
You could certainly think it, though. :cheesy2:
A man fucking a trans man is gay sex. A trans woman fucking a man is gay sex. You don't even have to get to the "T" in LGBT for those situations.

RE: Tracker errors "scrape not supported" and "unregistered torrent"
What do these errors mean? Are torrents actually removed from here? How do I start seeding these torrents again?
Thanks.
Since you tried to seed some torrents that you hadn't been seeding in a while, it is not surprising that a few were no longer available on the site. Torrents I'm seeding go dark permanently every once in a while. Often there are a few from the same studio, so it seems obvious why they are no longer available.
You could search to see if they are even still listed, making sure to include both active & dead torrents in your search. You might also use Google to search the site including site:gaytorrents.ru as a search term because the search function here can be wonky. Be aware that Google will also return results for torrents no longer on the site.
I always respect the fact that a torrent has been removed from the site and would not create a new torrent of it. I just move the video to an archive folder.
Every once in a while, the server is down and a large number or even all of the torrents I'm seeding go dark, but that eventually resolves without me doing anything. (I'm sure the staff is doing something, though!) So I always give a dark torrent a day or two to make sure it's not just a temporary issue before archiving it.

RE: I'm seeding but upload speed is 0kb/s
Hi, I started using this website recently.
I downloaded two videos and kept them to seed. Today, I entered the website and got the notification that I'm going to lose the upload privileges if I don't improve my ratio.
From all torrents I've downloaded, the ones from here were the only ones that weren't actually uploading anything - stuck at 0.0kb/s.Does anyone know why that might be?
My client is qBitorrent.
The most likely reason is that no one wants to download the torrents you are seeding.
Keep your torrent software running and you will get seedbonus points to exchange for upload credit even if no one downloads from you.
You can also download some newer freeleech torrents and hopefully upload to others that way.
See other tips here under "Maintaining a Good Share Ratio":

RE: Bad ratio as partially downloaded seeding torrents affecting ratio
That is one of the many reasons why torrents that consist of a collection are a problem.
To solve this problem, downloaders stop seeding, which causes there to be fewer seeders for the torrent.
There are many torrents of large collections that are dead. If the videos had been in individual torrents, it is likely that at least some of them would still be alive.
The more videos in the collection and the less well-defined the theme, the more likely it is that someone will only partially download the torrent.
