Recently i have been counselling a gay client , without divulging any personal information , who has been struggling with severe depression and anxiety due to his feeling that he does not belong in the gay community as he is deemed effeminate , "Im not straight acting " , i really had to step back as it filled me with rage , why should he be straight acting , when did our communities become places filled with such animosity toward those in our own , that differ from us ,  we have racial prejudice masked as sexual preferences , white privilege gone hay wire and now "sissy" shaming , i saw this article recently but think that this pretty much applies to all Gay communities in first world nations,

quite dismayed on what is happening right now , when i came out at the age of 14 , the gay ( Queer) community was so inclusive , but the time , they are a changin as the song implies.
