As a user my most important criteria are pictures. And if all you have to go on are tiny thumbnail screenshots and captures then
I am not convinced that a download is worth the effort. With the new upload rules one encounters quite a lot of badly illustrated
torrents.
A solution could be:
a) a minimum requirement of at least two pictures (i.e. a screenshot or promotion picture in in addition to the screencaptures)
b) a minimum width and/or height of the required pictures (i.e. minimum 300 pixels)
As for the description section I'm not entirely sure a minimum of characters solves any problems. Often uploaders don't know what
studio the clip is from or which actors are in it. It's more like: Look I found this hot clip and i want to share it with you.
In my opinion there is nothing wrong with such an approach.
Have fun and play safe,
Gerald
A gay-friendly Pope is IMHO not in sight.
The best we can get at the moment is a Pope who isn't as obsessed with gay sex as his predecessors
@Dax:
That number is clickable for me, but I didn't know if it was because I'm a staff member or because it's clickable for everyone.
Sorry, BummerBoy!
Perhaps that's a feature which we could add for all members. (Hint to Admins ;))
Out of curiosity I just tested it myself and it works
I'm not a staff member but have Auto-Approval rights from back in the day.
Don't know if that has something to do with it but I'm happy that it works.
Just wish that BummerBoy could use it too …
May I suggest that uploaders (and Moderators) should have the possibility to make their torrents Freeleach immediately to promote their torrents.
This would be great (and would take into account your arguments).
By the way, 48 hours seems quite a long time. I think 18 hours would be a good time.
You are very welcome. I do believe in the concept of feedback
Hello Uwe,
thanks for the tip. It worked. The pictures now show as they supposed to.
Nevertheless it's a little irritating. Not for me because I know now but what with all the other users.
Thanks again and have a nice evening,
Gerald
Just wanted to add better/bigger covers to an existing torrent (https://www.gaytorrent.ru/details.php?id=165173)
but after adding the pictures only the red frame is showing whithout the picture.
The red frame was nothing more then a red square with the option 'Delete'.
Tried also with a different torrent with the same result.
Fileformat of the picture was *.jpg. Tried *.png too with the same result.
Just wanted to let you know.
Have a nice day,
Gerald
A sideeffect of deleting the 'members online' list on the homepage is that we can't see which Admin or Moderator is online.
We don't even know who is on the GTRU staff since staff.php links to the homepage.
While I understand why you deleted the 'members online' list I think that Moderators and Staff and their online status should be listed somwhere.
Have a nice day,
Gerald
It's true. There are a lot more dupicates around these days then before the approval process was modified/dropped
and I hope you reported the torrents you refer to.
The former approval process wasn't only a drag for uploaders (at least before gaining auto approval rights) it had to be a lot of work for administrators too. I realy think it's the right way to go. To trust uploaders first and only if they violate the rules to restrict their rights.
The vast majority of upladers just want to share their files and/or like to improve their ratio.
Of course you have the occasional hiccup of users who should improve their checks for duplicate torrents.
And then there are users who blatantly copy torrents, rename them and seed them again. I'm pretty sure GTRU keeps track of those cases.
But what is the worst case that could happen to you if you download what then turns out to be a duplicate.
The worst case is that you got your file, maybe a second time, maybe take longer to download then the original and are not able to reseed it or
if you are the original uploader you might miss out on a few seedpoints.
In conclusion - IMHO - there are far more upsides to the new process then downsides.
You sneaky litttle mole. I'm pretty sure you hid the carrot there
Feel free to explain what happend here
Being European the colour doesn't worry me. Here kids (boys and girls) are running around with pink rubber boots.
I also remember the 80's when young men wore pink, yellow and mint green everything (shirts, trousers, jackets …)
and today I see a lot of men wearing trousers and jeans in bright colours even purple ... And remember all those
baby pink shirts a few years ago.
What makes these shoes so clearly feminine is the cut and and that small bow.
I do think that the same print on sneakers wouldn't cause any problem at all.
The main point here seems to be the current discussion if parents should support their sons if they want to wear girls clothes ( and vice versa) .
I'm with anyone who thinks that this may be the next frontier of gender equality where children define their own space in their society.
To the parents: Be aware of your surroundings. While this move might be challenging but acceptable in certain urban communities it might not in a rural environment. Don't forget that there might be the possibility of a war by proxy going on even in kindergarden where your ideologie might collide with that of an other kids parents.
Hello Uwe,
here my two cents on the New Upload Guide:
I like it a lot, especially the screenshots. A hugh improvement to the old one.
Maybe a differentiation between basic and additional information (e.g. different font, frame, labeling tips as such, …) might make the guide better readable. Uploading a new torrent is easier then many think and it would be great if the Upload Guide reflects that.
A screenshot depicting a perfect upload would be perfect (Including covers, pictures, thumbnails, date of production, cast, description, filetype, resolution, fps, audio, tags …) might increase the quality of torrents.
A tip to just wait 30 seconds before you download/seed the new tracker would be nice. (I think the system needs a little time to recognice that the new tracker is valid.) This was my first obstacle i faced as a new uploader and it confused me a lot.
Hope my feedback is of any use,
Gerald
Basically I am with GTru staff to drop the mod-approval. I remeber what a drag it was for me when I uploaded my first torrents and I can only imagine how much work it had to be for our Mods to screen each and every upload. Being the positive person that I am I think there aren't that many uploaders that mean harm. The majority is most likely underinformed and just wants to share their files and/or improve their ratio.
I am happy to hear from leatherbear that the main goal is basically to just turn the former approch 180°.
Trust the GTru members first and those who violate the new rules loose their auto approval rights.
Banning members should be the last resort.
While I think I reported more uploads in the last month then in the last three years I still think that thats just temporary and new uploaders will soon read and follow the rules.
BR,
Gerald
Outdoor Sex … best in Speedos or Cycling Gear ;D
Don't care so much about baeback or not ...
I still don't quite understand the rush to get straight porn on the site in such a short time. Wasn't the initial plan to begin with a MMF categorie?
Uwe pointed out that the current solution is just an interim one. But interim soultions have the tendency to become permanent ones …
Wasn't it the basic idea to make the bi and straight porn sections invisible by default and a member would need to enable them in his Profile?
To somehow implement a separate layer for straight porn that has to be enabled to see straight the categories?
What we have now are a Bisexual and two Straight categories which have to be disabled and most likely more to come in the future (i.e. straight fetish, …). That means that everytime a new catagory is added one has to go to profile settings and disable it ... not very user-friendly
Why the rush?
