    • RE: I've changed my mind. I don't want government run healthcare

      @raphjd:

      Socialized medicine is absolute shit.

      We literally have death panels.    Currently we have doctors and a children's hospital fighting tooth and nail to kill a kid (Charlie Gard) who they admit is not suffering.

      Waiting times, without private health insurance, is beyond disgusting.

      They have extremely rigid protocols that can be deadly if even the tiniest thing doesn't go exactly right.

      How is that any different from what we have in the US?  CEO's decide not to pay for care all the time.  Here is a case where Cigna decided that a 17 year old girls life wasn't worth saving.

      http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/CancerPreventionAndTreatment/story?id=4038257&page=1

      Wait times has very little to do with socialized medicine.  I have no idea why Republicans are always crying about it.  It's a problem but not one that is caused by single payer.  Where I live it takes 52 days on average to see a doctor and we have the highest number of doctors per capita in the country.

      He wasn't talking about life insurance.  He said the word PLAN.  You don't get a life insurance PLAN.  You get a life insurance POLICY.

      He also said "you really need it" when you are 70.  Why would you really need a life insurance policy then?

      I didn't misquote him.  The statements you added don't make the story any less true.  The point is that Trump has no idea about healthcare.  He is more clueless than anyone I've ever met.

    • I've changed my mind. I don't want government run healthcare

      Do we really want Donald J Trump in charge of healthcare? He thinks healthcare costs $12 per month!!  It's not even the first time he has said this.  Earlier this year he mentioned a $15 per month figure!  Republicans are right.  We CANNOT allow government run healthcare.

    • I figured it out!! Trump lost his pen!!

      Trump on Obamacare:

      "I have pen in hand, believe me," Trump said. "I'm sitting in that office. I have pen in hand. You never had that before."

      "For seven years you promised the American people that you would repeal Obamacare," he said. "People are hurting. Inaction is not an option, and frankly, I don't think we should leave town unless we have a health insurance plan, unless we can give our people great healthcare."

      He must have lost his pen or something…..

      I also find it interesting that he said "inaction is not an option" but then changed his mind soon after.  I'm so tired of all the winning.....so tired...

    • Does Russia want to "adopt" the United States?

      I'm a little uncomfortable with all of this "adoption" talk.  Do Americans adopt Russian babies?  Is this a common thing?  I've heard of people adopting babies from China and from African countries but never Russia.

      First the lawyer talks to Don Jr about Russia and then Trump talks with Putin about adoption?  Why is this even a topic?  Does Russia want to adopt the United States?

    • RE: What do Republicans in Congress do all day?

      @Frederick:

      In fact, they cheapest health care plans (which still cost a fortune) cover virtually nothing but the most basic things that don't cost a lot anyway.

      Actually it's just the opposite.  Hospitals are doing much better and becoming profitable again because of the ACA.  They no longer have to provide as much uncompensated care because people have insurance and those insurers are picking up the tab.

      SNL has been doing this for 40+ years.  It has gotten great ratings this past season.  Anyway you are deflecting again.

      Can you believe that Trump hired a HILLARY SUPPORTER!!!

    • RE: What do Republicans in Congress do all day?

      @Frederick:

      I think your earlier solution is the best.. make healthcare a STATE issue instead of FEDERAL.

      That's the same as doing nothing.  Only 14 states decided to run their own exchanges.  The other 36 chose to allow the federal government to do it.  These people pretend to hate big government but refuse to take any responsibility for their own people.

      The problem with this strategy is that sick people will simply move to the states that have healthcare when  they get sick.  That is one reason why these state plans for single payer (CA,NV,VT) will never work.  If I lived in a state where I couldn't buy insurance but then got cancer I'm going to move to a state where I can get healthcare.  If I stay where I am I will die.  That's why we need a federal healthcare system where everyone is entitled to the same care.

    • RE: Vlad and Donnie sitting in a tree

      @Frederick:

      It is damned near impossible to impeach a president - and since the house and senate are controlled by the republicans, it's not going to happen (nor should it even be considered).

      Clinton was impeached for FAR less than what Trump is being accused of.

      I don't know why you think Trump is safe because both houses are controlled by Republicans.  Trump isn't a Republican.  He will never be one of them. The Republican party can only endure so much of this.

      Trump will be impeached and he will be impeached by the Republican party.  The best thing for Democrats is to stay out of it.

    • RE: Trump is looking into how to pardon himself!!

      @Frederick:

      @aadam101:

      I wonder why he would need to pardon himself?  Any guesses?  Frederick? Mhorndisk? Anyone?

      http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/343059-trump-lawyers-discussing-presidential-pardon-powers-possible-mueller

      To answer your question, pardon's would put an end to investigations of various people.  One doesn't have to be convicted of anything to get pardoned.  You don't even have to be charged.  It's like vetoing investigations.  Certainly the moonbats are being relentless in trying to stir up any kind of charges they can.  Trump Jr. can't fart without someone scrutinizing if the tone was flat or sharp.

      My question is.. how could the Washington Post possibly know this?
      "President Trump's lawyers are looking into the president's authority to grant pardons in connection with the special counsel investigation into Russia's role in the 2016 election, The Washington Post reported Thursday."
      It seems to me, the Washington Post is just making up stories - which is typical.  Just about every story that I've had personal knowledge of in local news - has been a gross distortion of reality.

      Youtube Video

      So you think it's appropriate for a President to pardon himself and his family despite the fact that they have done nothing wrong?

      I'd be more interested in seeing the laptops of the Trump children.  Jr already lied to the FBI and I'm sure he is preparing his lies for next weeks Congress testimony.

      I wish I could take credit but it's all here.  It seems the "fake news" did a much better job of vetting him than Trump did.  He is also a Hillary supporter!!

      Spicer was fired "resigned"

      I hope he is able to avoid jail time when the indictments come down.  I really like the guy.  He took a chance on a moron and he got burned.  He didn't deserve this.

    • RE: ObamaCare Repeal is Possibly Dead

      @royalcrown89:

      What about those trying to fight opioid addiction?

      I hope studies will be done on this.  I honestly don't know if Medicaid expansion has helped or hurt the opioid crisis.  My state expanded Medicaid to childless adults in the 90's and I can tell you from first hand experience that the people on Medicaid expansion are largely white men with substance abuse issues. It seems as though the opioid crisis has only gotten worse since ObamaCare and I wonder if there is a correlation.  I'm not making the claim that there is.  It's just an observation.

    • RE: Trump is seeking H-2B Visas to hire foreign workers!

      @mhorndisk:

      It's literally bullshit. So because some people come over legally with their visas, these guys say that Trump isn't holding True to us… because some immigrants came in, and Trump must be against any kind of immigration... legal or illegal. That kind of thinking is ridiculous and the opposite of what he has said or called for. The people on here making those statements are literally backwards and wrong.

      There are no Americans who can do those jobs?  We have an unemployment rate in this country between 4 and 50% depending on how Trump feels that day.  He promised he was going to give AMERICANS jobs.  Why is he importing workers?

      I guess we know how Trump is celebrating Made in America week!  He is saving a bundle by giving jobs to foreign workers he is having imported to work at his Florida Clubs.

      So far, the moonbat democrats have prevented Trump from making America Great Again.  Just be patient.

      Those pesky Democrats really stood in the way on Obamacare huh?
