Does a Bidet Make Your Day?
-
The bidet – that seated thing where a stream of water offers you a fresh feeling "down there."
Have you ever used one?
Do you use them regularly?
Do you have one in your home?
If you find one in, say, your hotel room, do you give it a go?
Or, just not your style?
-
We have never had one at home. My parents didn't like it at all and I don't find it useful. That is why we don't have one at home now
-
Have never used one but I get why some would. It's not the most clean place down there and washing there might make you feel cleaner.

Yes, I have one at home and love it. It's not heated, although I can see how that would be nice. It saves a lot on TP because the toilet paper is just to dry off. When I have to use the non-bidet toilet at work I don't feel as clean. Theoretically I would still like to shower before being rimmed.

Personally I don't have one but most hotels/mall bathrooms here in the Philippines have bidets and I love them! I definitely feel cleaner when using it hahaha

Our old house when I was living with my family used to have one but we never used it.
So I have never used one in my life to this day.
It seems kind of useless because (a) I am guessing you would still have to set the correct temperature which is a waste of time and (b) I will still need to use toilet paper or a towel.
So I might as well go on doing what I do now which is to use baby wet wipes.

"Netiquette," as raph would tell me, involves adding my own response to a question I pose, so:
The first bidet I ever saw was as a college student on a summer program in Paris, staying in the center city, but at a one-star hotel. (Really – they were?/are? required to post the stars, 1 to 5, on the exterior of the building.}
In any case, the sad bidet was a white, all-plastic model that you could pull out into my room's center and enjoy its benefits. The toilets and bathtubs were down the hall, and baths cost you extra, at least in that day.
Since then, I've sat on some much nicer bidet models with heated water, and would add one to any home bathrooms in future remodeling.

Bidet all the way, bro.
Consider this: If you had sh!t on your driveway pavement would you wipe it off or hose it down?
Alls I'm sayin'.

I have a bidet toilet set in 3 bathrooms. I would not trade them for anything. Heck, I even got my brothers and sisters one for Christmas.

@raphjd said in Does a Bidet Make Your Day?:
We have a bidet in this house and our previous house.
Thanks for following Netiquette.
In the ABSENCE of a bidet, I use baby-wipes (or an equivalent) to clean after defecating.
If I'm stuck in public and can ONLY use paper, I'll wet it (even spit on it) to TRY to improve its effectiveness, but once I get home I literally MUST go clean myself. I feel DISGUSTING if all I've used is plain, dry paper!
My old house had a bidet (attached to the toilet, not a separate item)... my current one does not, and the bathroom is not "architected" in such a way as to make it feasible - and its a rental, so I can't remodel.
FWIW: I won't rim a guy unless I've wiped his ass with a moist towelette or baby wipe or wet cloth... SOMETHING! EWWW....
Thanks for the post! Interesting topic, given that the US id kinda famous around the world for our LACK of bidets! But that's changing... albeit slowly, it it changing!
