U.S. District Judge Joseph Tauro ruled in favor of gay couples' rights in two separate challenges to the Defense of Marriage Act, known as DOMA, a 1996 law that the Obama administration has argued for repealing. The rulings apply to Massachusetts but could have broader implications if they're upheld on appeal.

It must also be noted that the Obama administration, in both of the defences of DoMA, said that gay relationships were not better than incest, bestiality and pedophila.

So while they tell us that DoMA should be repealed, they have done everything they can to stab us in the back on the topic.

A long post to be sure but vital reading for all LGBT persons. I posted the entire article instead of the link to the article for this reason: Not everyone in the world has access to Wikipedia.

I do hope that if you are looking at this post you will take the time to read it in entirety. For me each year this weekend is a time to reflect on what horrifying yet glorious days this must have been for the participants in the riots and aftermath. Also a time to reflect on how far we have come and what is yet to be accomplished for LGBT persons not only here in the USA but worldwide.

Well, it could have been worse.  He could have had one of these in his bag:

He'd really have a hard time explaining this to his mother as they pulled it out of his luggage.

      Another word on this topic….....

Rob and I have had troubles with this kind of discrimination in the past but have always managed to educate(threaten) hospitals to see things our way as a Gay Couple.I am fortunate enough to work for a company that provides Domestic Partner Benefits now and so this issue has become impossible for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers from discriminative practices. :jaj:

They have to deal with us as a Couple or face the consequences!!!

We realize that not all Gay Couples have this benefit (we know we are blessed) and try to support HRC in the fight to end all Sexual Orientation based discrimination and hope that you will join this fight. Like all of these organizations they survive through donations but HRC has never cut us off from these updates for lack of a donation either. What HRC needs most is massive numbers of LGBT citizens to flood their legislators and institutions with OUR Viewpoint on issues like the above post.
