I live in an Indian household in the middle east. The chances of me not being kicked out of the house when I come out are very small (5% in my head).
So, whenever I think about coming out, for me, the scenario is almost always when I've graduated from university and have a steady job to at the least support my basic necessities.
It's definitely hard to think about, but I've just kind of come to the conclusion that my parents will not/ won't be able to accept me being gay.

But my advice to everyone, me included, is to make sure that you don't lose hope. No matter how small, there may be a chance that your family will be able to look past what society thinks and accept you for who you are.

Nevertheless, just for precaution, be sure that you can support yourself if you are kicked out.

What are your expectations of them at this point?

First of all, almost everyone is bisexual to some degree. You first need to question yourself whether you feel more attracted to women, more to men, or about equally as much. If you feel more attracted to men, these times it would be stupid to still marry a woman and live a forced, fake life (and eventually divorce or stay unhappy). I don't know whether you're friend is more straight or more gay (which he then tries to deny and cover up by marrying a woman), but it certainly looks like he won't allow himself to have a full relationship with another man…

I would say in private as far as I'm concerned.

I was fifteen when I made my coming out as gay masculine. And it turned out fine.

It happened during a family supper. No stares, nothing. It was all natural.

It was not such a big deal in Germany - my dad actually told me he had kinda figured it out and wasn't a surprise to him. My friends were all cool. Couple of relatives acted weird - I just ignored them.

I don't think "coming out" is necessary, and I've never come out to anyone. They've just deduced the fact that I'm gay because I say things like "damn, that guy looks good" or "this dude I hooked up with…" and stuff like that. My parents only know I'm gay because I told them I was going to move in with a guy I was seeing. I acted like it was no big deal and they did the same thing (although they did look a little shocked). If someone asks if I'm gay I tell them that most of my relationships have been with men, and leave it at that. I don't mind being associated with flag-waving super proud gay dudes, and I have quite a few friends that are like that but I've never felt comfortable presenting myself in that way.

I knew when I was 12, I didn't as much come out of the closet but exploded out of it.

My parents found my porn stash when I was 16.

First form a solid base: come out to those whom you have known for a long time and who are dependable and are of course willing to accept your sexuality. Then once you have their support, come out to the world.
