This may be all moot - my ratio went from 0.815 to  0.816 and that is with probably about  three fourth's of a day or more of only seeding- and I can't seem to figure out to upload an entire DVD file…....

Perhaps it got off topic because of that blue mention and us trying to give advises.

The most sad thing is, that currently we have no human resources available to do modifications on the main site and tracker, even not to re-introduce fixes for things which were already fixed before the February 2010 server issue.

But basically I'd like to have normal users to see these torrents, too, to give them an incitive to strive to become a Power User (needs a share ratio of 1.05, 40 GB of upload and 30 days membership at this moment to get that status).

I've been asking many questions on the GT thread since it started using another ID and back and forth private email with the poster of that terrific review site.  He has modified his position somewhat about VPN4All; it would run me $20/mo. for the downloading I do.  He feels pretty positive about HideMyAss, a site I would normally discount because I find company names like that childish and amateurish.  Regardless, they do come in #2 on the review site's ratings; they do provide software; they have addressed in length issues that were brought up on the VPN review site (there are tabs to give you more detailed reviews); they answered my tech questions upfront; and they are about $4.50 more than what I now pay on IPredator.

IPredator has no software, next to zero tech support and is not OpenVPN.  I agree, don't make commitments upfront of a 6 mo. deal.  The web is such that a better mousetrap comes along hourly.

I think one of the key things to look for is whether or not a VPN can "sell you out" if someone starts demanding your credit card info. and IP address.  If they're truly offshore, you have protection.  I remember many years ago when I bought a cable TV descrambler hearing horror stories of how busted companies would turn around and sell their customer lists to the cable operators.

I'm not into pissing, shitting, sweating, spitting, leather, and other sadomado things and I so couldn't understand what that mask in your priopr avatar was for.

It is because the stats are session based. So if the torrent clients stops the downloading and then later restarts, only the later download will be shown. Just look on old torrents with no leecher, the seeder have 0 for both up and download.

My initial thought about the new guides/FAQs is to go with a wiki. The few active members don't have to do everything. Everyone can have as little or as much input as they like. The main problem with this is how much more work will it be required of the site coder to integrate the wiki into the current site.

The more workable that require less effort for the coder is something like this.

Rules page (and new member welcome page) will feature a welcome message with the 10 Commandments and a short 3-5 line of friendly explanation about why the rules exist, to help the website run smoothly and build a community etc… Final line should say: for more details and explanation of the rules, please check out our Guides and FAQs section.

GUIDES.  Move the guides out of the forum and give each guide its own page, all linked together by a master table of content on the guide main page.  At the bottom of each guide is a link to a forum post in the forum where people can post question and answers.

FAQs.  The current FAQs seem to be very comprehensive and adequate.  Just need some layout cleanup. Either have one page per section (Site Information, User Information etc..) or use scripts to only display one section/question at a time.

FORUMS. Clean up the forum by having less sticky topics. Many of the current stickies in the GT.ru Discussion and Guides forum fit more into the guide section.  Only current and most important topic should be sticky. For example New Ratio requirements is now old news, where as First Time uploader program is alway relevant for new member.

The torrent has become fairly active now looking at the torrent details page (5seeds, 2 leechers), wonder if this thread helped people discover it and have also downloaded it as a result, LOL 🙂

I always use MPC for screenshots and thumbnails, but there have been times that I wanted a screen capture from one of my windows, not a video, and I never knew how to do it!

It's one of the more not as well known functions within Windows 7. None of the ads seem to advertise it, but I use it for like… EVERYTYHING lol

There are no specific restrictions to upload torrents for content downloaded from RapidShare or other direct download providers (HotFile, MegaUpload, …).

However, they must respect ALL of the rules for uploading, for example:

Not on the banned content list Not duplicate to something already available Being Gay Themed Movie or TV Feature or Gay Porn If movie (not member) > 50 MB If movie, not in an archive (ZIP, RAR, …) ...

As he had surgery yesterday, any info about his health would be welcome.

I spoke with leatherbear for a while Thursday evening (he and I are in the same time zone).
His spirits are high.
He expects to be in and out of the hospital within 24 hours.
He will be home soon, yet incapacitated and drugged up for a while.
He continued to see all our well-wishes (both members and staff) and I [again] encouraged him to focus on himself and recovery and ignore GT.ru for as long as it takes.
He or I will continue to keep members and staff posted as he and I chat by phone often – a brother in my family-of-choice that I only got to know from this great community.

Thanks to pointing out what I preach since ages!
Just a short remark: You get [desc=Seed Bonus point]SBP[/desc] for just seeding, not for a torrent. You do not get more SBP for seeding several torrents at once (like the often asked question: I seeded 20[0…] torrents at a time, why don't I get more SBP?). The SBP do only count for your seeding time, regardless of the # of torrents you seed!
