US wouldn't even need to be there if it weren't for Tomahawk Trump.

      What a political hack.

The ship has been based in Japan since 2004.

So explain how it's Trump's fault.

#45 is continuing the failed interventionist foreign policy of the Bush and Obama eras, so yeah, its his fault.

      @aadam101:

They did it with Obama and Hillary.  Liberals didn't care.

The right pretends to be in favor of free speech, when in reality, they have always been against it.

You guys set occupied building on fire to prevent speech you don't like.

Hell, you smash people over the head with bike locks who are trying to prevent a fight.

You set a girl's hair on fire because you don't like her hat.

You think it's ok to pour a bottle of piss over someone's head if they ask questions you can't answer.

You think it's ok for women to hit men, but not the other way around; gender equality.   BUT, it's ok for men to hit women if that woman doesn't agree with feminism.

I do recall you calling yourself a liberal, so if you're going to paint all liberals as the same, your including yourself too, pal.

      @raphjd:

      I'm a classical liberal.

    • RE: What Nobody's asking about the DC Shooter

      @raphjd:

      Hmm.

The US shooter is "crazy" because he attacked conservatives.

The UK stabber that killed MP Jo Cox was an "alt-righter", even though he was a known nutter with severe mental issues.

Did you even watch the video? The person is arguing that nobody is asking, what medication was the shooter on? He clearly suffered from mental illness, as he had sold off most of his assets prior to the shooting.

In the video, the person gives a critic on the mental health problem plaguing America; The pharmaceutical industry, and how drugs are advertised to "make you better", but they often just end up making you worse.

This post is click bait and has nothing to do with politics and debate. Typically these posts are made by alt-right posters (Frederick and others). But they're alt-right, so it's alright with the mods.

Popping in just to complain about this thread and just to flame.   hmmmmmmmmm.

No sure if you've noticed. But, the leftists on this board don't typically start their posts with insults or use insults toward their political opponents.

Bodies of missing sailors found on stricken Navy destroyer

YOKOSUKA, Japan — Navy divers found the bodies of missing sailors Sunday aboard the stricken USS Fitzgerald that collided with a container ship in the busy sea off Japan, the Navy said.

Searchers gained access to the spaces that were damaged during the collision and brought the remains to Naval Hospital Yokosuka where they will be identified, the Navy said in a statement. Seven sailors had been missing.

It said that the families were being notified and provided the support they need during "this difficult time." The names of the sailors will be released after all notifications are made.

    • Trump Administration Sides With Employers Over Workers On Arbitration Agreements

WASHINGTON ― The Trump White House will stand with corporations over workers in a looming Supreme Court battle involving arbitration agreements, according to a copy of an amicus brief obtained by HuffPost on Friday.

Arbitration agreements prevent workers from pursuing class-action lawsuits for back wages and other damages from their employers. Before former President Barack Obama left office, his administration had argued that such agreements run afoul of collective bargaining law. But in an unusual move, the Trump administration is undercutting that argument and backing corporations.

    • Democratic and GOP Governors Urge Senate To Rethink Health Care Bill

A bipartisan group of governors has a message for Senate leaders about health care reform: Slow your roll.

Republican governors John Kasich of Ohio, Brian Sandoval of Nevada, and Charlie Baker of Massachusetts joined Democratic governors Steve Bullock of Montana, John Bel Edwards of Louisiana, John Hickenlooper of Colorado, and Tom Wolf of Pennsylvania in a letter Friday to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.).

“We have watched with great interest the recent debate and House passage of H.R. 1628, the American Health Care Act,” the letter begins. “While we certainly agree that reforms need to be made to our nation’s health care system, as governors from both sides of the political aisle, we feel that true and lasting reforms are best approached by finding common ground in a bipartisan fashion.”

What's the best software to download all videos available on a site. I have a paid subscription to a website and would like to get the most out of it.

I would also like to be able to configure it to download 2 - 3 files at a time to avoid suspicious download activity.

    • Russia’s Massive Protests Reveal a Government Playing by Outdated Rules

Though the protests are unlikely to threaten Putin’s power, they’ve revealed cracks in the status quo.

Lines of riot police officers were shoving protesters down Tverskaya street and arresting people on Pushkin Square. Yet the crowd, largely teens and 20-somethings, kept surging forward toward the action, chanting, “Putin is a thief!” and “Russia will be free!” Thousands had come out on Monday for an anti-corruption protest called by Alexei Navalny, who wants to challenge Vladimir Putin for the presidency next year. Cheers went up as young men scrambled up onto balconies and roofs to wave Russian flags.

The contrast between them and the crowd at the other end of Tverskaya, where a historical reenactment festival was being held, could hardly have been greater. Middle-aged couples and families with children watched men in helmets and chain mail swing swords at each other. Potbellied men dressed as secret police pretended to detain bandits from a famous Soviet film, oblivious to the very real arrests being done by real police a block away. They quickly departed when police swept the street, unlike the many boisterous young people willing to risk arrest.

The protest showed that the anti-corruption march that Navalny had called on March 26, when more than 1,000 people were detained, including me and other journalists, was not a one-off. He has solidified his image as the opposition’s main leader and Putin’s main nemesis. And his growing support comes from Russia’s youth.

LOL, so pathetic.   You just love to assume things about your enemies.

Oh the projection! You lump all your political opponents into violent people who attack those they disagree with. You don't think individuals can have their own opinions.

Also, TYT is basically new commentary. Sure, they may have had stories that were flops, but doesn't mean they're all bad.

I love how the moderators just break their own rules:

"Popping into a thread for the sole purpose to flame, is a NO NO." and

"Popping into a thread for the sole purpose to complain that the thread exists, is a NO NO."

Really speaks volumes as to why the Politics and debate section is a total mess.

    • TYT: Trump's Infrastructure Plan Funnels Your Taxes To His Billionaire Friends

      Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0gYFOQvV6c

Trump has been conning people his entire adult life and has no plans to stop. John Iadarola, Michael Shure, and Mark Thompson, hosts of The Young Turks, discuss.

"Our country is in dire need of massive investments in infrastructure, but what Donald Trump is proposing is nothing more than a huge tax giveaway for the rich.

      1. It’s a giant public subsidy to developers and investors. Rather than taxing the wealthy and then using the money to fix our dangerously outdated roads, bridges, airports, water systems, Trump wants to give rich developers and Wall Street investors tax credits to encourage them to do it That means that for every dollar they put into a project, they’d actually pay only 18 cents and we would contribute the other 82 cents through our tax dollars.

      2. We’d be turning over public roads and bridges to private corporations who will charge us expensive tolls and earn big profits. These tolls will be set high in order to satisfy the profit margins demanded by elite Wall Street investors. So—essentially—we pay twice – once when we subsidize the developers and investors with our tax dollars, and then secondly when we pay the tolls and user fees that also go into their pockets.”*

    • US sailors missing after Navy destroyer collision off Japan

Seven US sailors are missing and the commanding officer of a US destroyer is among the injured after the warship collided with a merchant ship off the coast of Japan, the US Navy said Friday.
The USS Fitzgerald suffered damage to its starboard side above and below the waterline in the incident.
Cmdr. Bryce Benson was one of three injured sailors who needed to be flown to a naval hospital in Yokosuka, Japan. He is in stable condition, the Navy said.

US Navy Chief of Naval Operations Adm. John Richardson said three sailors were medevaced.
Other injured sailors are being assessed, the Navy said.

Dude. Those disclosures don't SAY anything! Why are you acting like they are relevant? Why can't you look into Anderson Cooper's family? Why can't you look into the Hillary dealings with Russia? Because you just don't want to hear it. It's fine. It's why Trump won. Because you guys can't handle the Truth.

Why do you hate facts, science, and logic?
