It is not an easy "Ride" as you say.  It can be done and lived through just fine though.  Once you are stable on treatment life is as it normally should be.  Follow Through with your checkups, make sure your kidney and liver are doing well on the meds.  People react differently, even if a specific medication isn't supposed to have those issues.

Above all, there will be people who will still treat you differently.  Just know they are the ones who have no real knowledge of HIV while fully treated.  They only know the fear, of those with the infection who don't know they have it or don't follow the treatment to suppress the virus.

I like muscle sure.  I'll take a guy however he likes himself to be.  What I don't like on muscle guys though… is the distended stomach bulging out from muscle.  I don't care about flat or 6 pack abs.  I have dated heavier guys with little muscle.  But that built look with that stomach I'm sure you all have seen is just a turn off for me.

My advice...  come to peace with who you are.  You will still have days where you feel down and that is ok.  You will need to force yourself out of where you feel comfortable and get out of your own safe space.  Break your routine (if you can be awake for part of a day off).  Go for coffee, smile at people and at life in general.  Show people you are welcoming and warm, even if they are not.
