Strangely, the police are allowing the pro-Palestine march to go ahead.

In California, a "super" liberal state, they have laws that protect and in most cases inflate housing values. To a lesser extent, you see this in the liberal New England states.
In the UK, all councils (liberal and conservative) are restricting how many houses can be built. The UK has had a limited housing stock for a long time, though liberal and conservative governments.
Now we need to add in the immigration figures (legal and illegal). Housing figures aren't keeping up with the birthrate, so we are falling behind there. We aren't keeping up with legal immigration numbers. And we certainly are not keeping up with illegal immigration numbers.
Our taxes are the highest they have been since WW2 during the rebuilding period and they are expected to continue to keep going up.

My area has 144 welfare housing units that are unused because of the economic situation. Meaning they can't afford to fix them up and put them back into service. Whiney liberals don't want to pay higher council taxes, but they want the councils to do a lot more.
Now we found out that over 500 housing units have RAAC (google it) problems and have to be knocked down and rebuilt because they are unsafe.
Many Western countries have an entire social class that has chosen the career path of "dole scum" as they are called in the UK. The UK's version of "16 and Pregnant" had a few such girls. They thought that the old rules were still in place that 16yo girl with a baby automatically got welfare and a free house/apartment. England and Wales stopped this practice but Scotland still allows it.
The UK had a "council house for life and beyond". Once you were in, you were in for life and you could leave it in your will to a family member and/or your in-house caregiver. Some rules applied. England and Wales stopped allowing that for anyone who moved into a council house after 31 Dec 2015. Scotland still has it.
More houses, private and welfare, have to be built. People need to pay for what they want instead of demanding that they get everything for free.
Free bus passes for everyone under 25 and over 60 means there are ££££ millions less for other things. The same with every other fucking handout liberals want.
