    • RE: Conspiracy Theories

You're right, most have been proven true due to government declassification.    That kills the argument of "the government can't keep anything secret".

Alex Jones proved himself right about the Bilderbergs and Bohemian Grove.  I haven't paid attention to his other CTs, but we now know the ridicule he got for over a decade was totally unjust.

It was never my intent for this thread, but it just got me thinking about something else.  We do we say that we can't accept CTs without proof, but we readily accept things like the UVA rape lie?  CTs need absolute proof to be declared true, but other things we accept countless lies as part of the "truth".

    • RE: Conspiracy Theories

I didn't know they did it in France, but I knew they did it in the US, Canada and a few others.

The CIA still officially denies MK-Ultra (and pretty much everything else), despite GWB releasing the final set of documents in July 2001.  I believe it was in 1979 that the document by CIA Director Richard Helms' (in 1973) ordering all MK-Ultra be destroyed, was released.  Why would you order all documents of something that never existed to be destroyed?  Why does the CIA still feel the need to maintain the lie?

    • Conspiracy Theories

I know that  most people love to ridicule "conspiracy theories" as being nothing more than bullshit.  In many cases this is true.

People love to say that no CT has ever been proven.  Well, that is partly true.  A proven CT is no longer a CT, but history.

Several years ago, on a political site, I did a thread were I posted well over 400+ former CTs which are now part of history.

Thanks to Bill Clinton declassifying a ton of documents, we learned that many CTs were in fact true, such as secretly testing radiation affects on hospital patients or spraying chemicals over small towns to test chemicals on people.

In the UK, MI5/MI6 finally admitted that they did, in fact, actively try to destroy Harold Wilson and his administration.

This applies to all sides of the political debate.  Don't just totally dismiss a CT because it's not proven, because one day it just might be the actual truth.

Your citations for these beliefs of yours from established, reputable, professional-journalist news sources are… where???

Let me guess, you will only accept liberal sites like TYT and CNN.

      https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2017/01/obama-expanding-nsa-powers/513041/

      https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2017/01/obama-expands-surveillance-powers-his-way-out

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama_on_mass_surveillance (I don't normally post wikipedia, but liberal love it)

Then of course we have Wikileaks and Snowden.  You know, the whistleblowers Obama persecuted despite his campaign promise to protect whistleblowers.

Obama promised to end the GWB era mass surveillance but that was a total lie, just like ending no bid contracts.

It was Obama's promises to end GWB era crap (Patriot Act, etc) that got me to vote for him over Hillary.    He lied and liberal justified.

Blowjob-gate was a nothing issue that Repubs "blew" out of proportion in their desperation to find some dirt on Bill.

      Cigar-gate is just nasty, though.

The UK is in the same boat.  We get a lot less back than we put in.

Also, we are owed a rebate, thanks to Thatcher, but no UK PM has ever asked for us to actually get it back.

A few years ago, the EU tried to increase the amount the UK must pay in, based on the black and grey markets.  They even went so far as to demand back "taxes" for 20 years on this money.  This was just another nail in the coffin of the EU, as far as the UK was concerned.

It's not hard to prove someone is gay.

It seems you are more interested in protecting the church than the human rights for gays.

You demonized me for pointing out that muslims hate gays.  You want me to hold the gay SJW view of muslims.  Isn't that hypocritical?

BTW, I'm still waiting for that list of the wonderful gay utopian mulsim countries.

Obama did, despite promising to do the complete opposite, expand GWB's spying on Americans.    He went way beyond anything GWB wanted.

It does appear that there was some spying on Trump people.

The US has enriched Europe by doing most of the funding of NATO and the UN, allowing other countries to backslide on their agreements to pay their fair share.

The UK only voted to join the economic union.  Nothing in the original vote had anything to do with a political union.

    • RE: XX and XY Bathroom Bill

And to be fair: can you recount any instances of trans women raping another woman in a women's bathroom? Seems like the majority of the bathroom problems revolving around indecency and rape tend to be related to gay cis men, NOT trans women.

Do you mean that guy that was caught taking photos of half naked girls in the changing room?  He was able to get away with it because he claimed to be a woman.

Also, please keep in mind that in the UK and some other countries, women CAN NOT commit rape.  In India, women can not commit any sex crime or domestic violence.    So it's not exactly honest to ask about women "raping" a person when there is no gender equality in many countries.

    • RE: Why is Communism not as hated as Nazism?

Marxism (aka "true communism") can never, ever exist as long as humans exist.    There will always be the elite and the poor.

Every country has at least partial socialism, in that everyone is forced to pay into the system for services and welfare they may never use or benefit from.

Since the 1960s, college kids have been very far left without thinking about the reality of the situation or the cost of their utopia.  Kids who leave high school and go straight to work are realistic about how things work.

Venezuela style socialism killed that country.  Now everyone is poor, except of the political elite of the various parties.  Even the state oil company can't keep up with the financial demands of their welfare state.

The Scottish National Party panders to the "victim-hood" of Scotland at the hands of the UK.  They also promise that in an independent Scotland, we would live in an Utopian welfare state.    Now that the Scottish government has control of welfare, it's still not fixing all "the evils imposed on us by Westminster".  Funny, that, but not surprising in the least.

Where's the hatred for Chechnya considering how it treats gays, especially recently?

Are the SJWs totally silent on the topic because it's a muslim country?

Is this one of the utopian gay haven countries that a user recently talked about?

    • RE: Is Conservatism Growing?

      @remydrh:

I don't think looking at the people of this forum is a large enough sample, it's certainly a narrow demographic.

And I'm not convinced everyone here is really giving their opinion or just trolling. Although some of the trolls have a load of internalized self-hate it feels like some days. Happily furthering the agenda of people that would love to see you dead/imprisoned/silenced/etc. speaks to a deeper problem…but I digress.

I'm also not sure it's real conservatism or fascism/reactionary politics. When things go poorly for someone, or at least they feel like it's going poorly, they seek reasons for it. And they don't often blame their self. Since the dawn of time people have relied on placing the blame with a less popular group or at least a more comfortable target. The current remaking of racists and bigots to something more palatable called the "alt-right" is less about conservatism and more about muddying the waters of hate groups so they can more easily blend in with classic conservatism I think.

Recent events, at least in the US, has taken a group that has always been around and energized them, given them a voice and shoved them into the limelight. And since the internet has no gatekeeper, they can bang around as much as they like to make it sound like 400 when there's really 40.

The problem is it really only takes one to make things miserable for others if they're given enough power.

And that's the problem.  Liberals think they are so great and accepting, yet they name call their enemies.

So far, only one liberal has condemned the violence by the left and it took ages for him to do it.  Every other liberal on here is either totally silent or justifies the violence in some lame way.

Blacks who don't live in a total state of victim-hood are demonized by blacks and SJWs.

I also see you talking about conservative loving those who would love to see us dead.  Have you looked around?  Liberals worship muslims.  In one very recent thread, a liberal was trying to tell us that there are muslim countries that treat gays better than Europe treats them.    When asked to list these countries, he ran away.

    • RE: Is Conservatism Growing?

      @veictor:

People in this board are talking about "reverse racism", so yes, maybe.

There is no such thing.   Racism is racism.

SJWs call it "institutional racism" when the police help maintain the racism.   Well, in Berkley, the police helped the blacks with their racism against whites in the "whites go around" event, where whites were forced to walk through a creek to get to class.

Whites would not have the police helping them in a "blacks go around" event.

That is black privilege and anti white racism.
