The city I live in used to have homophobic (almost all were non violent) incidents fairly often and now it's quite rare to have one.

Technically, white people can be racist as they are the dominate culture. When referring to anti-white rhetoric it is referred to as bigotry. Thats the accepted academic terminology.

It's also "accepted academic terminology" to say that everywhere in the world, only whites can be racist.  As an example, look the hatred and abuse of whites in Africa.

Also, liberals dominate academic spaces.

Please be careful that we don't get into the dictionary fallacy; ie "feminism is literally the dictionary definition, but racism was made up by some old white guys to demonize non-whites".

Whataboutism occurs across the political spectrum.  As a famous rabbi once said, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

The original post did not take a political position one way or another about this phenomenon.  It is interesting, though, how it got such a strong response from one end of the spectrum.  To quote an old Polish (I think) proverb, "If you throw a stone at a pack of dogs, the one that yelps is the one that you hit."

I do see a lot of anti-Trumpisms when talking about COVID-19.  Whatever Trump says, the oposite is automaticall true.   It reminds me of how Democrats supported the wall until 2015, then switched because Trump also supported the wall.

Also, as mentioned in the other thread, Google and Bing seem to be playing with the algorithm and burying search results that say hydroxychloroquine works for COVID-19.  It's as if they have an agenda.  Regardless, they should be totally unbiased.
