Anytime I meet a meet another gay man I’m attracted to, I instantly want to fuck them. It’s hard to have friendships with gay men, because I want to have sex with each one I come across.

There is a difference between "attraction," "desire," and "action."

I am attracted to a LOT of men... that attraction translates into DESIRE in some of them (that is, I might actually DO something to meet or converse with them)... and sometimes I'm luck enough that the desire turns to ACTION.

If I am single (and I am currently), or I'm otherwise NOT in a monogamous relationship, the number of guys I sleep with is purely a personal choice. These are the days of online hookups after all! Never let someone shame you with words like "slut" just because you get more sex than they do! Consenting adults can fuck whomever and as often as they like! We are PROGRAMMED (genetically) to like sex - without that programming, we would have been an extinct species a LONG LONG time ago!

However, when there IS a relationship in play, my desires should NEVER turn to action - out of respect for my partner (and myself). I can control my desires (to a point - I have been seduced before!), and if I lose that control (say, I'm too drunk to stop myself) I usually regret it.

Still, if you cannot control your desires, you may need counseling. There is nothing wrong with needing or seeking counseling (I have found it extremely helpful at various times in my life!)

FWIW - I'm "easy" when I'm single... I've had sex with 4 different guys (not an orgy - separate "encounters") in a 24-hour period before! But that is a rarity... these days (COVID days) I'm lucky to get laid more than 3-4 times a month. (Oh the pain, says Dr. Smith! 🙂 )

But I think your question ALSO goes to mixing friendship with sexual activity. And that can be a tricky thing... BUT, in my experience, so long as you discuss and agree on the "limits", there shouldn't be problems (though there always will be - as with any friendship). What kind of discussion?

Will this be a one-time thing? Or are we gonna be FWB? If we do this, are we gonna still just be friends, or will we be lovers? If "just friends", are we both clear we're not looking to BECOME "lovers"? Or are one or both of us open to this growing into more?
