@yoyo22b2 I just upped a couple of BBA collection torrents the other day once I was reasonably sure that the old .ru site wasn't reflecting new torrents upped to tor.rents
...
They lasted, like, 20 minutes.
As far as I can tell, this is the most carefully policed producer out there. They are on top of new torrents within 24 hours very, very consistently. Off a DMCA takedown notice is sent and the torrent is zapped.
@Joker Yeah I was sorry to read your comment that you had JUST renewed! Yet another thing you can have against that asshole Putin...
@Logan26 said in Are there sites specifically blacklisted from GTRU?:
Nothing illegal - it's just that I can't find certain content posted or it gets taken down almost immediately. Maybe there are some secret codes for studios or 1337 speak that I don't of (which I think was recently banned).
I'm pretty sure it boils down to DMCA copyright takedown requests. The site is searchable by non-members (via Google, etc.) so content owners can search for their property and demand that it be removed. Then it is.
It's not discussed by site administrators, to my understanding. They simply comply with the notice and life moves on. By not talking about it they are also not tacitly acknowledging that torrents for such items are sometimes found here.

Sorry folks, some of you run again into the let's-encrypt certificate issue we had some month ago. I was stupid enough to try it again with let's-encrypt for the new url..
I just installed a new Certificate for the new tracker.gaytor.rent url
everybody should be able to connect now ! maybe you need a restart if not
hope that helps
It seems to have been a seamless transition for me, @Joker -- I didn't even know we had transitioned. Great work! (Probably I was offline while the mixup happened...)
@dnygnm I think the only thing you can do is delete the torrent from your queue. You will stop seeding what you have but you will no longer be considered a leecher. If you and the torrent are connected to the tracker you will be considered a leecher if <100% complete.
@joker said in Torrent server down?:
i just installed a new SSL certificate not issued by Let's Encrypt for our tracker. It should now work everything as expected..
also the forum issue with the lost connection problem is solved and should not happen anymore
enjoy
Thanks, @Joker ! It is working now -- I'm ip/downloading and not getting the forum error.
Thanks so much for your (and everyone's) efforts on our behalf!

@bi4smooth I'm on a Mac and use Transmission. I'm not abandoning it, but it's not working currently and I don't know how to get it up and running. The app is too widely used for this problem not to get fixed at some point -- but I don't know how to do it (it's likely not too hard, you just have to know how to manipulate SSL conditions within which it operates).
So meanwhile, I'll use qBittorent for a while. I like a lot of what it offers but it looks like Windows software and not an elegant Mac app, which Transmission most certainly is. qBt is def more powerful but Transmission is simple, attractive and gets the job done. Usually...
When Transmission is operational again, I'll switch back. With fond sentiments towards qBt which is an excellent client.
If you look hard in the Transmission settings, you SHOULD find an SSL (or rather, an ignore SSL errors) setting. My Mac is broken right now, so I can't give you point and click instructions, but I'm confident it is there.
So I'm not sure this is user-configurable in Transmission. I did find this at [link text](https:(https://github.com/transmission/transmission/issues/1338) but I have no idea how to set the app's environment variable...

@vatdweller Yes, I've been using Transmission. I'll try the other. That is ... very weird. Why would this happen?

Hello. I managed to get the torrents working again. Apparently there was something called a "DST Root CA X3 certificate" that expired on October 1st and it broke a lot of websites and devices. This was preventing my torrents from downloading. What i did was I went to https://valid-isrgrootx1.letsencrypt.org/ on Chrome and it automatically updated the certificates. Now my torrents are working again. I hope this helps anyone else with this issue.
Thanks -- but nothing I have tried has fixed the issue. I tried installing the certificates on that website, but nothing. I don't know what to do.

This problem is ongoing. I have had contact with staff, who say it is all sorted, everything just needs restarting I have done that multiple times. I use libtorrent, and the error message in the torrent client is [Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with given CA certificates]. No connection to any torrents here for 4 days...
Yes, it's definitely still down for me. I have restarted many times but it changes nothing.

My torrents are not downloading, either. I'm using qbitorrent and it says the status of the tracker is "not working". This started happening yesterday.
i saw an outage as well, but it appears live now.
Unfortunately not for me (and others, it seems).
@raphjd said in Torrent server down?:
The site (aka tracker part) is not related to the forum issues. They use different servers.
OK, thanks for checking in -- no problem. But the important question is: is the torrent server down?
Thanks, @brodie24 -- I'm sorry to hear that, though I'm relieved to hear it's not just me. I haven't been able to find anything on the site about what's going on.
I'm also getting this very often while in the forum. Not sure if it's related, but it's weird.
Hey all,
I haven't been able to UL/DL at all for about 2 days. Is there something wrong with the server? I can access the website no problem but nothing works torrent-wise.
I am able to UL/DL from other torrent servers, as normal.
Thanks for any info you can provide!
I think that was the problem – the age of the torrent. I was mostly looking at recycled torrents (e.g. originally uploaded in 2015) and didn't realize that they can have entirely new upload dates. I thought it dated from the original upload and didn't notice the difference.
Thanks for your help, guys! Sorry I was a little clueless on this one...
That's strange.
I can see a Freeleech button beside this file. Can you see it as well?
https://www.gaytorrent.ru/details.php?id=c9631d38c8bc0211a3a146a2ffc2d02b73229b99510a13e3
Yes, I can! Thanks. But that is very weird. Let me explore some more (though I tried many, many different torrent pages before…).
So, I just went and checked. This link, chosen fairly randomly, has no freeleech button for me. Same login as when I checked on your link, above.
Does this one work for you and other people?
https://www.gaytorrent.ru/details.php?id=03917ab27b91196b27d32953a141a70f1520b9b43d1d6c85
Hey all,
So I haven't seen a button to make something freeleech for a long time. I know about the week old, etc.
Is there something I'm missing or not senior enough to do or whatever? I've got some extra bonus points I'd like to put to good use to help people (and myself!) out.
Thanks!
Another option is to just use a normal Google search but specify the site. For instance, use these search terms:
falcon "no way out" site:gaytorrent.ru
Like this:
https://www.google.com/search?&q=falcon+%22no+way+out%22+site%3Agaytorrent.ru
Interesting! Thanks – I'll try it. Didn't know this could be done.
