    • RE: Losing friends after coming out?

Weirdly, I didn't lose any friends when I came out. However, it was when I took a stand against homophobia that my real friends remained.

An example was when I was at a party, where we were talking about our holiday travels. I mentioned I stayed at a friend's house for a few days, when a casual friend said, "So you sold your backside to him so that you could stay at his house."

I looked at him and replied, " This may surprise you, but gay people CAN have normal friendships with straight people with no sexual feelings involved. You might want to open your mind more."

Luckily there wasn't violence involved because

      A) Everyone was glaring at him
      B) I was 1.5 times his size. In muscle mass.

    • RE: Fat people going to the Gym

For loosing weight, there are other ways apart from the gym. Walking and swimming are just two examples.

Stamina increases will come in time as you continue to train. Consistency is the key.

Needless to say, your diet is 70% of the battle. Watch what you eat.

As a formerly fat guy, I commiserate with your fear. Do not let that stop you. Physical approval from the people at the gym should not be your motivating factor. For a while, I was the only fat guy there.

I took it as a personal challenge to keep going.

    • RE: Am I Pathetic?

It is your body, your choice. Whatever you choose to do it with it ( and with others ) :hug2: is entirely up to you.

As to your original question about whether you were pathetic. This may sound odd, but…

      F**k what other people think.

Do not feel pressured into doing things you're not ready for. As for wanting it to be just as good as your fantasies.....well, I'm not going to lie. Everyone one of my sexual encounters fulfilled a certain fantasy (..or nightmare for that matter   ) But the important part is not to let the expectation build up and distort what may or may not come.

Lastly, you need a hug

    • RE: Is it really 'worth' coming out?

      Come out to whom?

Ultimately, the one person you need to come out to is yourself. It's your body, and the moment you become honest to yourself and your desires, everything else becomes secondary.

Yes, informing everyone will be hard. Yes, there will be pain and rejection, along with a multitude of trite cliches that follows.

Unfortunately, I can't give you an easy answer for this. This is beauty of choice. In my experience, I choose me above all.
