Keep in mind there are many other issues that play a big factor such as denialism or poor public health education. Most people in Africa are very ignorant. A lot of people don't take their meds in SA because they don't want to go to the doctor and be seen as "sick".

jbo1 I don't know if I understood your comment but I am from Brazil and I'm gay. It sucks that we are forced to enlist in the military, but for me it was super normal, they treated me like everybody else, I don't even felt weird being naked in front of them haha in the end it was kinda funny ;D
maybe it's different depending on the area you live in but from my experience they usually decline lgbt applicants first. they'll most likely treat you like anybody else but will most likely not accept you in the army. i think it's a similar kind of discrimination experienced by lgbt greeks.

if greece is anything like brazil it doesn't matter what the law says because there's little policing and respect to law
technically gay men can serve in military in brazil but they will kick you out as soon as you come out of the closet… same thing for enlisting... brazil has conscription and many of my high school friends would mark "homosexual" under their sexual orientation field in their forms to be exempt from military service

That's great news for our Mexican fellas, but unfortunately Latin America is an awful place to be if you're gay. I got out of that hellhole and never looked back.
