    • RE: Serial sexual predator dodges jail in SNP's soft touch justice Scotland despite five attacks

@blablarg18 Clinton? Maybe. Biden? I highly doubt it. But unfortunately for you, your opinions don't matter. Go to court; present evidence; get a conviction. So the only fact we have is that Trump is a convicted sex offender. Sorry.

He should go to the US. He could run for president.

@raphjd Pornography should not be allowed in elementary schools. All my friends and family are liberals, many of them school teachers, and not one would disagree with that.

@raphjd Poland and Ukraine indeed have a complicated and tragic history. Many Poles still blame all Ukrainians for Wolyn. But they are the minority. Most Poles (in Poland) completely support Ukraine in Putin's criminal war of aggression.

@raphjd AOC is a rock star compared to anything you have. I have no interest in your body or trying to control it. How do liberals try to control your body? How do you define "pornography" (oh, the irony).

Science is science. Facts are facts. Don't be one of those too stupid to see that.

Thanks you for your concern as to my well-being, but I am extremely happy that I am no longer living in that shitshow of a country. All the best!

@blablarg18 I invite you to come to Poland and talk to the Poles and Ukrainians here about Russia and Putin. You might learn something.

@raphjd said in The march toward fascism continues.:

I noticed that you didn't respond to the fact that YOU PEOPLE embedded cancel culture into laws, throughout the western world.

I am not in favor of any form of censorship.

Pornographic books in elementary schools is what YOU PEOPLE fight for and are angry that conservatives don't want that.

I challenge you to provide one example of a pornographic book First Amendment Supporters condone being in elementary schools. Just one.

YOU PEOPLE won't condemn dirty politicians on your side, but get butt hurt and screechy over losers like Santos, whom conservatives have condemned.

Al Franken resigned. Santos is still in Congress. And a convicted sex criminal may be headed to the White House.

Until you and the rest of the liberals here start condemning things done by liberals, then it will remain YOU PEOPLE

And here you prove my point. You have no idea what I condemn or don't condemn. But you know what? I don't give a shit. I left the US years ago when I saw what was happening as YOU PEOPLE started taking over. YOU PEOPLE ignore experts, scientists, highly-educated academics and instead deify idiots. Who are your heroes? Who are your role-models? What great thinkers are currently associated with the Right? The GOP has become the party of mediocre numbskulls. You've got no one who is even remotely mammal to rally behind. But I don't care. I can just watch from afar and thank GOD I don't have to be a part of the mess. I wish you all the best and a government full of Trumps, Boebberts, Greenes, Jordans, and McCarthys. Good luck...you deserve whatever comes.

@raphjd As you assume to know what I believe or what drives me crazy, or you think that it is logical to lump me into a group of "you people," there really is no point in pretending we are having a worthwhile discussion. What really drives me crazy is trying to have a rational discussion with a blind zealot. You not only lack substance in your arguments, but also erroneously presume that everyone is as mule-headedly dogmatic as you seem to b

@blablarg18 It doesn't matter if people were offended. Isn't that the whole point of the Right's "Cancel Culture" crusade (First Amendment and all that?). The Right is only concerned about "cancelling" conservative voices. They don't give a rat's ass about anyone else's. Ask librarians in Florida and Texas, asswipe (alleged).

      https://www.reuters.com/business/retail-consumer/target-remove-some-lbgtq-merchandise-after-facing-customer-backlash-2023-05-23/

Certain conservatives fully abandon libertarian ideals and decide they have the right to control what others do, read and, apparently now, purchase. So much for their opposition to "cancel culture."

    • RE: "Why Martin Luther King Was Republican"

@raphjd How you decide to see the world is your business. I just find it interesting as I've been working and living internationally most of my life, and in my experience the more educated and well-travelled a person is, the more progressive, tolerant and open-minded they are. You seem to be an anomaly. You are so certain that you can pigeon-hole people (erroneously by the way in my case), that I can't see how you can think that will lead you to factual judgement calls. But like I said, whatever gets you through the night. It doesn't matter anyway. These conversations we are having in this wee corner of cyberspace are not solving anything. They are a complete waste of time.

    • RE: "Why Martin Luther King Was Republican"

@blablarg18 I apologize if you felt I was personally attacking you. I wasn't. That said, I do believe that you show no critical thinking skills whatsoever when you "support" your agenda with cherry-picked anecdotes, many of which are fatuous and most of which are hyperbolic, and emotionally-charged approaching the ludicrous. You seem also to be unable to understand that time is linear. You definitely would not me to be on your thesis committee.

@raphjd Ok. It's too bad you see the world and other people in that way. I can't imagine what it's like being so negative and hateful. But if it works for you.

@blablarg18 Your grasp of history is indicative of why many Americans are considered ignoramuses. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing; especially in the hands of someone with zero critical thinking skills.

@raphjd You are right. Thirty years ago the Democrats were getting in wrong. The Republicans were worse. The difference is the Democrats have progressed while the Republicans have regressed. You can't ignore the reality....just look what's going on, mate.

    • RE: "Why Martin Luther King Was Republican"

@raphjd These are all anecdotal anomalies. All you have to do is to look at what these parties were then and what they are now. I don't believe every Republican is a racist homophobe, but if you are a racist homophobe, you are probably a Republican.
