Sorry, but that thing is just absurd. It's almost 3 feet long. I'm 6'2" and i can tell you that that would be coming out of my nose if you stuffed it in my ass. I can't understand why anyone would even bother to make it.

RE: I've destroyed my ratio
@tiatbdna4 One thing I would say about that is that stopping them at 1.25 based on the ratio may not be the best practice, even if allowing for you secondary minimum time criteria.Depending on the torrent client being run on the SB it would be worth investigating if you add an "AND" condition to that and set it to check if there are no leechers. If there's still traffic then there's an argument for keeping the torrent active, at least within the scope of the initial purpose of the thread.

Brother Crush - I Need a Ride to School (Zach Brenton and Michael DelRay)
"Dean is a studious kid who loves to learn, so when he runs the risk of not getting to class on time, he starts to get nervous. When he asks his stepbrother Ben to drive him to school, the older boy sees this as an opportunity to get something out of it โ his dick sucked! To persuade his horny big stepbrother, Dean has to get on his knees and slide his stepbroโs fat dick between his lips."

Somehow I managed to miss out half a bloody sentence in my reply, but you get the idea.

RE: I've destroyed my ratio
@eobox91103 Short answer is yes. If you're putting stuff in the seedbox (or your own client for that matter) and your intention is to keep the torrent alive rather then you would definitely want to exempt it form any auto-stop automation
I have a few on my home client that I've deleted from my personal library as I wasn't keen on them and just maintain a copy in my seeding folder. but some only show 1 (maybe 2) seeders. My ratio on a couple of them is around 2, so would have shut off with such a rule set in the client, but obviously it's better to keep them active. I check in on them once a week or so to see what state they're in, and if they get up to 10 or more seeds I'll consider dropping out.

RE: Redownloading my own torrents. Will it affect my ratio?
Needless to say (I hope!) you should avoid doing ANYTHING else with the drive until you've tried recovery. If you overwrite the deleted data again you just make it less likely that you can recover it.

RE: Redownloading my own torrents. Will it affect my ratio?
If I may suggest an alternative solution....
I was careless and rushed when cleaning up my system recently, and deleted the entire partition on one of my drives. Panic ensued as I obviously thought that was it since deleting a partition is usually more permanent than simply deleting the files. FEAR NOT! I looked around and found a little program called "Disk Drill" from Cleverfiles. Ran it and managed to recover virtually everything form the deleted partition.
Forget the free version as you can't really do anything with it, but I managed to find the full version on another torrent site and it worked like a charm. Have a hunt around and see if you can find a copy.

RE: I've destroyed my ratio
Anyone looking for a ratio boost should go and read the whole of this thread: https://community.gaytorrent.ru/topic/67291/upload-ratio-help?page=1
I've given instructions there on how to use a seedbox to get a massive ratio boost, and some users in there have found some that cost as little as โฌ6 per month. One user managed to upload roughly a whole TB in just 24 hours and completely fixed his ratio, with the rest of the month free to build up a healthy buffer.

@frostygrin said in upload ratio help:
But I guess some people would just be OK being a CDN for other people with the seedbox, and then download what they want from their home PC.
That is precisely the advice I was referring to as it deals with the original point of the topic
-
RE: upload ratio help
@frostygrin I'll be honest and admit that that particular scenario isn't one that I've had any experience with so can't really comment on. I don't think there is any limit on how many torrents you can seed though. What I would say is that my comment was regarding seedboxes specifically and using them to improve your ratio. With the impressive speed ot most SB services, both up and down, there is little argument for using them for partial downloads, at least as long as someone is following the advice I gave towards the start/middle of this thread and using their seedbox purely to improve ratio
-
RE: Reseed Request Problem
@frostygrin Interesting concept that I've not heard of before. Will have to look into that
-
RE: upload ratio help
@frostygrin I think you might have things a bit mixed up, though I'm willing to listen if you think I'm wrong about the following....
The buffer is how much you can download before you reach your own minimum ratio, which is never higher than 0.8.
Your total download on the site is used to set your Base Daily Limit for downloads. You also get extra download slots which are calculated by multiplying that BDL by how far you are above your minimum ratio. By the time you've downloaded more than 800Gb from the site your BDL is already 100, plus your extras for the ratio bonus, plus extras if you've uploaded in the past.... I doubt there are many people downloading that many torrents each and every day, even with a seedbox.
What I was trying to say is that a seedbox is a great tool for fixing a poor ratio, and for giving yourself breathing room, but people shouldn't feel like they need to chase ridiculously high ratios just for the sake of it. It's better to put yourself in a good position, and then if you have things that you want to seed then you can still seed them without the use of a seedbox, and saving some money in the process.

@frostycab yeah about that, I might just keep it running till I reach like 10.0 ratio something absurdly high
While I wouldn't say not to do it, there was a discussion somewhere in the forums a long time ago about how much is too much when it comes to ratios.
There were some well though out arguments in there, but I seem to remember the best practice was agreed to be that while "artificial" methods like seedboxes give you a boost, once you've got a healthy download buffer then enjoy that and just seed normally. This shares seeding more effectively with other users who do also need to maintain their own ratios.
For example, I have a ratio of 1.172 right now. That means I have a download buffer of over 53TB. That represents about 40% of all my downloads over the last 17 years. If you look at it another way, if I keep up the same average amount of downloading and never upload so much as a single byte that buffer would last me another 7 years before I drop to my minimum 0.8. As such, there's no real benefit to putting effort into boosting my ratio.
Like I said, there's nothing stopping you going for the record if you like, but in reality there's not much point in chasing ratio just for the sake of it.

@thor9023 Glad you got there/ Plus you still have, what, another 3 and a half weeks left of your seedbox?

RE: upload ratio help
What have I started??? At this rate I'm going to have to start asking all these SB companies for kickbacks! LOL
Just a couple of things to remember:
-
Use the SB primarily for high-demand torrents, whether you want them personally or not. If you're grabbing something for yourself but there's little demand from other peers then you're better off downloading it directly and using the SB space for more popular files.
-
Keep track of when your SB subscription ends and plan accordingly. If you have loads of stuff on there that you want to keep then make sure you allow yourself enough time to FTP it all to your local storage..
Interesting to see some boxes still working once you've passed your traffic limit. Might be worth a look at the terms and conditions to see exactly what they say and whether there's a second limit that cuts off completely or if the throttle you or whatever. I must admit that know just how much traffic you can generate I would only ever get a box with unlimited traffic.
I came across this too. I don't know if it's up to date or accurate, but some of you might find it useful if you choose to try:
