    • RE: Trump Favorability numbers hit new lows

The Quinnipiac poll also shows the president’s favorable rating - more of a personal measure than a job measure - dropping to a new low of 35 percent. The percentage of Americans who strongly approve of him is tied for an all-time low at 25 percent. And the percentage who strongly disapprove has reached an all-time high of 51 percent.

Trump also his worst numbers to date - across 10 separate Q polls since the 2016 election - on the following measures:

Honesty: Just 33 percent say he is

Good leadership skills: 56 percent say he doesn’t have them

Caring about average people: 59 percent say he doesn’t

Being levelheaded: Voters say 66-29 he’s not (unlike the other numbers here, this is tied for all-time worst, not setting a new one)

Being intelligent: Voters say only 56-41 that he is

Sharing your values: Voters say 64-32 that he doesn’t

How he’s treated the news media: Voters disapprove 65-31

Whether people trust him or the media more for the truth: 57 percent media, 31 percent Trump (even 17 percent of Republicans pick the media over their president)

The problem with polls is.. the polls represent only the people who are polled!  The pollsters typically only poll the people who live in high crime city centers.. where the libtards tend to live and breath like cockroaches.

I'm going to respond to this taking the position of a stockholder in Quantas.  I assume that Quantas is a publicly traded company.  What business does the CEO of Quantas have making a speech about same-sex marriage?  Whether the CEO was in favor of same sex marriages or against them is irrelevant.  As the CEO of Quantas.. he needs to refrain from delving into areas which have zero to do with the company he is supposed to be running.

      He's Gay.

    • Trump Favorability numbers hit new lows

President Donald Trump is dealing with a budding scandal after his decision to fire FBI Director James Comey on Tuesday.

But even before that, he appears to have hit a new low with the American people.

A new poll from Quinnipiac University shows Trump’s disapproval rating rising to 58 percent - a new high in Quinnipiac’s regular polling and the highest in a high-quality, non-tracking poll since his inauguration. Just 36 percent approved of Trump’s job performance.

    • Senate panel subpoenas Flynn for Russia-related documents

WASHINGTON — The Senate intelligence committee has subpoenaed former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn for documents related to the panel’s investigation into Russia’s election meddling.

Sen. Richard Burr, the Republican chairman, and Sen. Mark Warner, the committee’s Democratic vice chairman, say the panel had first requested the documents from Flynn on April 28. They say Flynn’s lawyer declined to cooperate with the request.

Flynn was fired by Trump after less than a month on the job. The White House said he misled Vice President Mike Pence and other top officials about his communications with Russia’s ambassador to the United States.

Flynn’s Russia ties are also being scrutinized by the FBI as it investigates whether Trump’s campaign was involved in Russia’s election interference.

    • RE: TEXAS: State House Votes To Allow Religious Adoption Agencies To Turn Away Gays

The key word you brushed over is "FAITH" based adoption agencies.  One of the protections of religion is that they can do pretty much anything they want - because of the separation of church and state.  I don't agree with that, but it is the law.  I don't think that most if any of the activities of churches should be tax exempt.. but that is also the way the laws work.

Then they deserve to lose their tax-exempt status. If you're taking my tax dollars, you're not allowed to exclude. Period.

    • TEXAS: State House Votes To Allow Religious Adoption Agencies To Turn Away Gays

Faith-based adoption agencies in Texas would be able to reject prospective parents on religious grounds under a bill the state House preliminarily approved Tuesday over strong objections from Democratic lawmakers who said it would ultimately harm children and deny good people the right to care for them.

Under House Bill 3859, which advanced on a 94-51 vote, providers would be protected from legal retaliation if they assert their “sincerely held religious beliefs” while caring for abused and neglected children. The measure would allow them to place a child in a religion-based school; deny referrals for abortion-related contraceptives, drugs or devices; and refuse to contract with other organizations that don’t share their religious beliefs.

Rep. James Frank, the Wichita Falls Republican who authored the bill and an adoptive father, said repeatedly during a lengthy debate Tuesday that his legislation is not meant to be exclusionary but to give providers some certainty when it comes to legal disputes. He described opposition to the bill as “fabricated hysteria.”

    • Christian Activist Smashes Pie Into Face Of Qantas CEO over Gay Marriage

The CEO of Australian airline Qantas says he’ll continue to publicly support same-sex marriage after he was attacked with a pie over the issue. “My opinion on this has not changed,” Alan Joyce said in a statement Wednesday. “We’ll continue to speak about important social issues including indigenous reconciliation, gender diversity and marriage equality, because it’s the right thing to do.”

A man rubbed a pie in Joyce’s face at a business event on Tuesday morning just as the CEO began delivering a speech. The assailant, Tony Overheu, has since spoken to Australian media, saying he wanted to make a statement about Joyce’s support for same-sex marriage. “There’s some really crude stuff going on here, and Joyce has been very much leading the issue,” Overheu told 7News.

    • Russian Foreign Minister Chortles About James Comey’s Firing

Russia’s top diplomat on Wednesday appeared to joke about President Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey during a visit to the State Department. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson introduced Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during the Washington visit.

“I want to welcome foreign minister Lavrov to the state department and express my appreciation for him making the trip to Washington so that we can continue our dialogue and our exchange of views that began in Moscow,” Tillerson said.

A reporter asked whether the firing of Comey “cast a shadow” over the talks. “Was he fired?” Lavrov said in response. “You are kidding, you are kidding

    • Comey asked for increased resources for Russia investigation just before firing

In the days before James Comey was fired as FBI director, he had requested that his agency receive a “significant increase” in resources to assist the ongoing investigation into the alleged Russian interference of the 2016 election, according to The New York Times. Comey asked for “money and personnel” last week when he met with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who happened to be the one to pen the memorandum saying Comey’s term should be terminated, according to the Times.

So far, Democrats have largely led the calls that a special prosecutor be appointed to lead the investigation, but on Wednesday Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell R-Ky., rejected requests for a special prosecutor or an independent commission, according to Politico.

    • WV journalist arrested for asking Health Secretary Tom Price a question

Dan Heyman, a veteran reporter for the Public News Service, was arrested on Tuesday in Charleston, West Virginia, for doing his job.

The West Virginia-based journalist was working on a story about whether domestic violence would be considered a pre-existing condition under the GOP health care bill, so he went on Tuesday to the West Virginia state capitol where President Donald Trump’s secretary of health and human services, Tom Price, was visiting to learn more about the opioid crisis.

Heyman said that he approached Price in the hallways of the capitol and repeatedly asked him if domestic violence is a pre-existing condition. Price refused to answer questions, but Heyman persisted anyway. Moments later Heyman was handcuffed and arrested for “willful disruption of state government processes.”

Excuse me?  Who is being intolerant?  Jefferson is a major historical figure in Louisiana.  He was president of the Confederacy, he lived and died in Louisiana, and owned a plantation in Louisiana.. and yet.. the left must erase Jefferson Davis from history by removing his monument?  You know who else did shit like that?  Josef Stalin.  Stalin was famous for removing all monuments, documents, and images of his adversaries.  Tell me who is being intolerant again?  You libtards are so full of it, it is coming out your ears.

    • Grand jury subpoenas issued in FBI's Russia investigation

Washington-Federal prosecutors have issued grand jury subpoenas to associates of former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn seeking business records, as part of the ongoing probe of Russian meddling in last year's election, according to people familiar with the matter. CNN learned of the subpoenas hours before President Donald Trump fired FBI director James Comey.

The subpoenas represent the first sign of a significant escalation of activity in the FBI's broader investigation begun last July into possible ties between Trump campaign associates and Russia.

The subpoenas issued in recent weeks by the US Attorney's Office in Alexandria, Virginia, were received by associates who worked with Flynn on contracts after he was forced out as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency in 2014, according to the people familiar with the investigation.

Robert Kelner, an attorney for Flynn, declined to comment. The US Attorney's Office in Alexandria, the Justice Department and the FBI also declined to comment.

    • ACLU Blasts Firing of Comey: Serious Alarm for Our System of Checks and Balances

Via press release from the ACLU:

The independence of the FBI director is meant to ensure that the president does not operate above the law. For President Trump to fire the man responsible for investigating his own campaign’s ties to the Russians imperils that fundamental principle.

Regardless of how one judges the performance of James Comey in either the Hillary Clinton or Russia investigations, President Trump’s dismissal of a sitting FBI director raises serious alarm bells for our system of checks and balances.

The terms of FBI directors were purposefully structured to span across sitting presidents to ensure the FBI’s independence and insulate the bureau from partisan politics. President Trump’s dismissal of Comey raises questions about the administration’s inappropriate meddling in bureau operations — precisely at a time when the bureau appears to be investigating the president, his advisors, and his campaign for potential collusion with Russian agents in our last election.

    • GOP Rep Bolts Interview Over Pre-Screening Town Hall Crowd

An Iowa congressman walked out of a television interview on Monday, declining to explain why his staff is prescreening constituents who plan to attend his town hall meetings this week. A few hours later, Rep. Rod Blum (R-Iowa) showed up at his town hall meeting where most of the prescreened audience screamed at him.

It was a rough start to a recess week for Blum, a second-term lawmaker representing a swing district that voted narrowly for President Trump last year after supporting Barack Obama in 2012. Blum is a member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus who initially declined to support the Republican plan to replace the Affordable Care Act but ultimately voted last week for the American Health Care Act.

The way Blum struggled Monday night to explain his vote — through the loud boos of rowdy, impolite and infuriated constituents — is just a narrow sampling of the the growing concern and confusion caused by Republican plans to revamp the nation’s health-care system. But it indicates the difficult balancing act many Republican lawmakers from swing districts will need to strike as the complex debate continues in Washington.
