WHITE RIVER, SD — Just days before the midterm elections, a Republican candidate for the South Dakota State Senate in next week’s election has been charged with child abuse.
Joel M. Koskan was charged on Thursday for multiple sexual acts against his adopted daughter.

GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCBD) – The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) on Friday announced the arrest of an Andrews-area pastor for past criminal sexual conduct with minors.
According to GCSO, Thomas Brackett (59) is the pastor of Holy Trinity Pentecostal Church in Andrews. He was taken into custody on 11 warrants that included charges of criminal sexual conduct with two different victims.

“So, Durham was appointed by Barr after there was already a full-blown investigation that concluded that there was no problem,” Katyal explained. “Durham then started saying, ‘Oh, no, I disagree with the IG’s investigation.’ And that’s led to where we are now. And it is an absolute disgrace. I mean, I can’t put this in stark enough terms. But if you’re a federal prosecutor, you really have to try to lose your criminal case.”
Katyal stated that more than 99% of federal indictments end in convictions.
“To lose two federal criminal trials, as John Durham did, that is almost unheard of,” he continued. “I’m not sure I’ve seen a bigger whiff by a federal prosecutor than what happened with John Durham. And as Darth Vader would say, I mean, Durham has made his transformation complete. He’s now fully a Trump lawyer. He has all the hallmarks – bogus claims that he’s advanced all the time in court, and serious court losses. And you know, it’s a real disgrace.”
Former President Donald Trump signed legal documents describing evidence of election fraud that he knew were false, a federal judge indicated on Wednesday.
U.S. District Court Judge David Carter wrote in an 18-page opinion that emails from attorney John Eastman, an architect of Trump’s last-ditch effort to subvert the 2020 election, needed to be turned over to the Jan. 6 select committee. Those emails, Carter wrote, “show that President Trump knew that the specific numbers of voter fraud were wrong but continued to tout those numbers, both in court and to the public.”
