Bad news for HBO's take on Utopia: HBO and David Fincher couldn't come up with an agreement regarding the budget, so the project is dead for now. HBO owns the rights to adapt the series so Fincher can't shop it around.

There will be no fourth season, but all thirteen episodes of the current third will air.

Finished the finale yesterday. Or was it the day before that? Whatever.

I maintain my earlier stance. This show isn't that good. Hopefully the second season—assuming there is one; although, to be fair, the showrunners have planned for it to last five years—will be much more concise and get rid of unnecessary characters and storylines if need be.

Either way, I'm suddenly very interested. Normally I don't go in for this kind of stuff, although I've been considering starting up RuPaul's Drag Race and Project Runway (some of the clips I've seen for the latter especially have been pretty funny).

Haven't watched Brokeback Mountain, actually, so I've no idea if it'd be a good thing or not for HBO to adapt it.

Some Utopia-related news: Cristobal Tapia de Veer (bless this man) will be doing the soundtrack for Channel 4's/AMC's Humans. Very, very nice.

Nice bit of music there. And Jessica Hyde, goddamn; as dangerous as they come, a viciousness equal to her enemies. If the US adaptation doesn't die in development hell then they've got to find an actress who can pull of Hyde perfectly. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised to find that #WhereIsJessicaHyde? is a thing. :3

Just wanted to pop in and say Utopia is absolutely the best show and yes, yes, yes.

Everything—and I do mean everything—involved with this show is glorious. Writing, characterization, cinematography, saturation, music (fucking bless Cristobal; you wonderful, wonderful man).

It's absolute mental deficiency on C4's part to cancel this show. I am still bitter about checking out Utopia's Facebook page and seeing the bullshit news that there'd be no third season.

(Graaah. Got me all worked up again.)

A beautiful show that had me hopelessly hooked. Why don't we anthropomorphize Utopia for a bit: had it been a man, he could've done whatever he wanted to me any hour of the week and I wouldn't have complained. Not once, not ever. Because DAMN, this show was that good. A total freak.

So ya, Utopia on the list and sooner rather than later means I'll swallow.  Hannibal Season 2 was almost like what I presume others report as a religious experience for me.  I was okay with the first season and sometimes wonder if I shouldn't revisit it but season 2 is like Da Vinci making a mix tape that he plans to seduce Valentino with.  I swear Gillian Anderson must pay them because she shines like a perfectly cut diamond and this season when she says

! my husband is very particular about how I taste I think actors have killed on the order of the writers for the chance to read lines half that.

The long and short is Sense8 is 'on the list' but with only so many hours in a day and my pornography based research project consuming so many of my viewable hours who knows how soon.  The ill conceived release time just 1 week before OITNB isn't helping it's case either.

I was about to start the final episode of Sense8 when I found out that OitNB had been released six hours early. I immediately sang praises to a non-existent god. Bless Netflix and bless that show.

Hannibal's second season, though. Damn it, I'm getting all choked up. I was not prepared, I'd no idea there would be such a large jump in terms of the show's compelling nature from the first season. Put another way: the show gave me the best blowjob ever, and it continued to suck my dick even though I was overly sensitive afterwards— but it was alright, it was more than okay, it was an exceptional TV viewing experience. (Also, yeah, Anderson is ethereal, or something, I swear, she must sacrifice scores of goats for that radiance and elegance and presence; also, her line killed me. Jesus, it was so perfect.)

Speaking of which: I need to watch the latest episode. I feel tingly all over. As if a terribly powerful thunderstorm is heading my way. LET'S DO THIS!
