      @jay230:

      The only laws the site is bound by are those of the country it's hosted in… Which in this case appears to be Russia. If the site admins have used local laws in their country as justification for removing content it's a courtesy not an expectation.

      The site owner doesn't need any justification at all to remove a torrent.  Seems like in this situation it is because doing the right thing is important, not because of any law.

      Just to be clear, we take the privacy of our users very seriously. As such, we take complaints of revenge porn very seriously.

      I think there's a disconnect here between the point I've been making and what you all are choosing to interpret… I didn't argue that the content should or shouldn't have been removed or that the admin made a poor choice in doing so. The site can deal with situations in any way they see fit. That said depending on the circumstances, taking action may be a courtesy, rather than a strict obligation or expectation.

      Obviously when it comes to legality the jurisdiction is law within the host country, which is the minimum standard the site is held to. However if site admins want to go above and beyond, because they feel morally obligated, there's nothing wrong with that either. However as members we really are at the mercy of whomever is making that call in those cases.

      Actually, no… The domain is Russian, however the site is hosted elsewhere.

      Which is why I said it appears to be rather than it is.

    • RE: Issue

      @bearbearbear:

      @jay230:

      I've discovered my issue has to do with the tracker thinking I've reached my maximum leeching torrents . Currently I have no active torrent files other than the ones I am seeding and the tracker seems to believe I've got 13 torrents that are also leeching. I order to get the file I was trying to torrent working yesterday I had to stop seeding several torrent files in utorrent

      Are you seeding any multi-file torrents that you only downloaded partially?

      You're correct.

      To be honest in all the years I've been using this tracker this only became an issue a few days ago. 15 download slots is a lot of content to be downloading at one time. That said I have noticed an increase in muti-file torrents so I think you're on to something in thinking they're some times more trouble than they're worth.

      @mmmgash:

      Hi,

      There's a torrent I've reported a few times now because it's basically my material but I haven't given permission for it to be uploaded and it's essentially revenge porn. Is there a way anyone can contact me regarding it being removed please?

      Is it "essentially" revenge porn or is it revenge porn? You seem rather indecisive about it.

      Also beware if you're going to DMCA something on the site be aware that person who uploaded it has the opportunity to counter. If they do the ball is in your court as the copyright claimant to show you've started legal action against the uploader or the content is re-instated.

      I suppose you can ask nicely to have the content removed but the site is under no obligation to remove the offending content.

      @MrMazda:

      There are a few things that can cause this to happen. First, we need to see if you are able to reach the tracker back end. To do this, open the following link:

      https://tracker.gaytorrent.ru/stmdd

      Does this page open a statistics page, or does the page fail to load?

      For that matter, when you open uTorrent, click on a torrent, then click the "Trackers" tab, what is the status message that appears there next to the tracker information?

    • Issue

      I use utorrent and there seems to be an issue with the site. I've tried to torrent a few files today and they don't seem to start one I've added them to utorrent. Is this an issue with the tracker or something on my end? I seem to have no issues with torrents from other sites atm.

      Appreciate your response but none of those solutions actually address the issue. This is something that's easily addressed and offenders dealt with.

    • Fan Site Torrents

      I'm wondering if something can be done in regards to fan site torrents. The majority of torrents in this category are pretty vague and downloading them is kind of like playing Russian roulette. You literally never know what you're going to get. Often the individual file names look like this "utj0fdQpLV14OSNph81DmktGMdEiJQI1.mp4", there's not really a description of what's in the torrent, and there are no screen caps to go off of. Kind of makes it hard to decide if the torrents even worth downloading when you've got absolutely nothing to work off of. Also with constantly uploaded compilations from the same people it's also hard to know if you're downloading something new or if it's just a repackage of something you've already downloaded. At very least a requirement to have the individual files named with something descriptive rather than a non-descriptive sequence of numbers would greatly improve the experience with these torrents.

    • RE: Questionable Content Poll{Please Vote}

      @raphjd:

      As I said in the mod section, there are respectable and responsible porn companies that use young looking guys for their videos; ie AYOR, Eurocreme, BA, Hammer, etc, etc, etc.

      There will always be cases like Brent Corrigan's where he used convincing fake ID to get into the business.  This is the reason no one from Cobra or porn dealers were arrested over it.  The videos were recalled and that was that, except for the civil suit between Corrigan and Cobra.   Traci Lords is another example of an under age porn star who used fake ID.   We can never protect ourselves from this, except delete them from the site and our hard drives if/when they are made known.

      To be safe, we should only allow videos of guys with grey hair.  Oh wait, my uncle Pete was bald and completely grey at 17.  Damned, that rule won't work either.

      NOTE 1:  True kiddie porn will always be banned.  In this thread we are talking about under age {16 -17}.

      NOTE 2:  We won't ban people for posting questionable stuff, only the stuff that is on the banned list.

      There is a difference between a guy that looks like he just turned 18 and a guy that is obviously younger than that. I don't think any of these actors you speak of from TV shows were actually meant to be seriously believable as significantly younger than they were they were simply the right person for the role. Isn't it a running joke that these teen dramas are slightly out of touch from reality?

      We can protect ourselves by disassociating ourselves with content where actors may or may not be underage. We've illustrated several times now how our eyes are the best judge. I understand that there may be in your eyes several reputable studios that use young looking guys but who's to say they just haven't been caught or even will be?

      I never said the site should condemn those who Download or Upload questionable content unless they continue to upload such content to the site.

      The Brent Corrigan and Tracy Lords cases were highly publicized cases due in part to the characters involved and the way things were handled… I'm sure they are many other cases where things were handled much quieter. Cases like this would be avoidable if this industry was so dangerously obsessed with youth which is far more than it is in mainstream Hollywood. I'm not saying actors should be grey and balding before they should be allowed to do porn but at least old enough as to clearly depict two consensual adults engaging in sexual acts.

      In terms of the way I think the law would view such cases where actors are much younger than they appear much like you "Uncle Pete" much differently than when actors CLEARLY appear to be on the younger side. Even though we are talking about 16-17 year olds who some would consider to be capable of making their own decisions or adults in their own right in the eyes of the law they are not.

      There is no one true solution to this problem because each will have it's own pro's and it's own cons. I do feel however that the amount of content purged whether it be within compliance or not is small compared to the damages caused by keeping it here.

      BTW IMHO the torrent file that started this conversation the actors appeared to be more along the lines of 15-16.
