Should #45 Be Impeached and Removed from Office?
-
In light of recent events, including the president sharing classified information with Russians in the Oval Office and James Comey's damning memo, do you believe our president should be impeached and possibly removed from office? What is the reason for your belief?
I personally think he should and will most likely be impeached by the House sometime this year but that the Senate will not vote to remove him or that he will resign after more damning information is released. I believe this will happen because of political reasons; the Republicans cannot continue to support a sinking president without sinking themselves. Impeachment will send a signal that they are not fully inline with this administration and by not removing him will give them a shot at keeping his supporters calm.
That's just my opinion on this very specific matter. What's yours?

I have no loyalty to any politician. If they do criminal acts, throw their ass in jail or whatever the law allows.

Maxine Waters admitted today that there was no evidence of Russian collusion. But, they'll keep looking. It's been like 9 months and still no evidence has surfaced, not even an iota or a shred. Why do you keep pushing this narrative? Is it because you just hate the guy? Ok, I get it. He's a douchebag, but that's why some of us like him, because he's not a politician and he gets in there and says Screw you GUYS! I'm going to be president and I'm gonna kick your ass because you're all greedy politicians! You just don't like him, but please stop insulting everyone's intelligence when Comey absolved Trump 3 times and said there was nothing to investigate (which Trump stated in his letter to Comey when he fired him.) There is nothing there. There is no evidence, so why the hell do you really think he'll be impeached? There literally is NOTHING there. It isn't going to happen, just like you guys believed CNN when they said Hillary had a 99% chance of winning. It was all fake. I'm sorry but you didn't understand or realize reality. I'm sorry if you can't grasp it, but it's over. The democrat party is falling apart, there isn't going to be some second chance here. Do you REALLY think he would meet with the Russian Ambassador and leak highly classified information when he's been saying all along that he's being tapped and leaks are happening all over? Why would you think he would be so stupid? The story is stupid! I just don't understand why you actually believe in this nonsense.
-
And as far as your "sinking presidency" comments, that's totally absurd and insane. Because the jobless rate has gone way down, and the stock markets have skyrocketed, and the debt has actually decreased for the first time in almost a hundred years! The illegal immigrant rate has dropped 70%! How can you actually make these claims that he's failing? I'm all for immigration, but you gotta do it legally. If you don't show your ID at the border, than you got something to hide. He's got problems for sure, but sinking is the opposite of what's happening. I understand you just don't like the guy, and that's fine, but please stop with the nonsense. He's doing a great job and the economy is doing just fine. In fact, the economy is doing better than it has in many years.
-
Trump people seem to be already building their defence. There might be something happening soon…
-
Dude, there's nothing to defend. Maxine Waters went on radio today and admitted that there was NO evidence after almost a year long investigation! Why do you guys keep insisting on Russia!? There's literally nothing there! I know why… it's because you just don't like him. As a gay Trump supporter I will continue to call you out. So. WHERE IS THE EVIDENCE? You keep claiming Russia! But what evidence do you have? NOTHING. So go ahead with your bullcrap. Every time you claim Russia, I will demand the PROOF. And you will continue to give me none. As you have done in the past and just now. So you wanna keep on with this? Go ahead. You have no proof. So go ahead and show me the proof. I will do this until the end of time. So it's ok. We will continue with your claim that Russia colluded with the Trump campaign and I will continue with my demand for proof, and I suspect you will continue to waste your time and prove NOTHING. In the end, the Trump supporters will win, as they have continued to do from the beginning. As of now, you are a joke.

Those are my exact words on why I believe it WILL happen. While I stated I think he SHOULD be impeached, I didn't state my reason for why he SHOULD be impeached; I stated the reason why I believe he WILL be impeached and I clearly stated it would be a political reason on behalf of the Republicans. For me, I think he SHOULD be impeached for the amount of corruption going on in his administration. #45 himself, his family and nearly all of his cabinet members have been caught up in either plagiarism or illegal corporate influence before AND after they were sworn in at their respective agencies or took on certain titles. EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt used words written by corporate interests on official government letterheads prior to being the EPA Administrator and was still confirmed and has continued to let corporate interests frame policies for the EPA as Administrator. Both Counselor Kellyanne Conway and Press Secretary Sean Spicer have continuously and intentionally misled the American people on various important issues that have come up since #45 took office. We have absolutely no evidence that #45 has divested himself from his companies and isn't making money for his companies off of being president or that he isn't receiving money from foreign governments through his businesses. Why are we simply taking his word for it without seeing proof that he has divested himself and isn't using the office of the presidency to enrich his businesses? The list can go on and on and on. This president needs to be impeached and removed from office before something terrible happens and there is a loss of life in this country due to this high level of incompetence and corruption. I think he WILL be impeached, but not for any of the reasons why I think he SHOULD be impeached.
To make a long post short, I believe we have a dangerously corrupt president and I have seen NO EVIDENCE that he isn't dangerously corrupt. I've only seen what his non-transparent administration has allowed us to see and it all looks damning.

Other than all the evidence that has surface. But I am just going to assume you were very much against any investigation into the Clintons, after all they've been continuously investigated since the '90s without anyone finding any evidence.
he's not a politician and he gets in there and says Screw you GUYS! I'm going to be president and I'm gonna kick your ass because you're all greedy politicians!
Of course Trump is the greediest politician we've ever seen. He's so brazenly corrupt that countries like China are just handing money to his children/their spouses in order to get favorable treatment.
You just don't like him, but please stop insulting everyone's intelligence when Comey absolved Trump 3 times and said there was nothing to investigate (which Trump stated in his letter to Comey when he fired him.)
First off, the FBI doesn't absolve anyone, that's what trials are for. Secondly, there has been more than enough to investigate and that's what the FBI was doing.
Do you REALLY think he would meet with the Russian Ambassador and leak highly classified information when he's been saying all along that he's being tapped and leaks are happening all over? Why would you think he would be so stupid? The story is stupid! I just don't understand why you actually believe in this nonsense.
Yes. He's an idiot and a braggart. And he already admitted that's exactly what he did.
Because the jobless rate has gone way down,
It's gone down, at most, 0.3% and we're heading into summer.
and the stock markets have skyrocketed,
Oh really now?
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-stocks-idUSKCN18D1E0?il=0
and the debt has actually decreased for the first time in almost a hundred years!
It decreased by 291 million (a piddling sum relative to the total) and it has already started going up again. Oh, and the debt decreased between February and March of 2016, so you are off by a hundred years.
The illegal immigrant rate has dropped 70%!
And this is just completely made up. It doesn't even make sense as a statistic.
In fact, the economy is doing better than it has in many years.
Haha, no.
Dude, there's nothing to defend. Maxine Waters went on radio today and admitted that there was NO evidence after almost a year long investigation!
Why do you keep repeating the exact same things over and over and over? Often unprompted. It comes off as disingenuous and using talking points.

Both Counselor Kellyanne Conway and Press Secretary Sean Spicer have continuously and intentionally misled the American people on various important issues
"If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. PERIOD. If you like your plan, you can keep your plan. PERIOD."– BHO
"But our current best assessment, based on the information that we have at present, is that, in fact, what this began as, it was spontaneous -- not a premeditated -- response to what had transpired in Cairo. In Cairo, as you know, a few hours earlier, there was a violent protest that was undertaken in reaction to this very offensive video that was disseminated."-- Susan Rice
"Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage, and basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical for the thing to pass."-- Jonathan Gruber, architect of Obamacare.
These are just 3 that readily popped into my head. These former 2 were instances where the President and his Ambassador DELIBERATELY LIED to the American people for their own political expediency. There was an ABSOLUTE INTENT to deceive for gain. The latter was just a freudian slip that just confirms the first lie!
Anything I have seen by Spicer or Conway has been a mistake that was blown out of proportion, more has been made of them than Obama visiting all 57 states. -
I don't think he will last the year. Either Trump will resign or the 25th Amendment will be invoked and Trump will be declared incompetent. It's alarming that our own president is putting out national security and the security of our allies at risk but I don't think House Republicans have the courage to stand up to Trump's fanbase.

None of those people are currently in office because President Obama's administration ended on January 20, 2017; therefore, they have absolutely zero to do with this conversation. I didn't ask whether President Obama or anyone who worked in his administration did anything wrong; I clearly asked "Should #45 be impeached and removed from office?" If you want to discuss the previous administration then I suggest you create a thread about your personal grievances with people who are no longer in power and have no effect on our lives today. Do you have an answer for the question posed by this thread or are you here to disrupt the conversation without adding anything? The latter is against the rules by the way so be careful :cool2: -
I have a general rule for life: Don't think about what you want to leave; think about where you want to go.
Trump, as we all know, is a braggart, buffoon, and corrupt. But, he is a "known."
If he goes down the road, the country will not suddenly go 'liberal;' we will just get the next guy down: Pence.
I'm not claiming to know anything about the vice prez, but all i've heard is that he's more religious and supportive of religious things (read that auntie gay, aunti abortion…) than the Trumpster.
If impeaching Trump meant a whole new election (Ha Ha) then it mite be interesting, but taking the top log off a pile of more, rotten logs doesn't mean you get a new house.
-
He hasn't committed an impeachable offence. You could argue obstruction of justice, with Comey's memo, but no one has yet seen the memo, so it may not even exist. And if it does exist, Comey would have committed a federal offence by not notifying that he had knowledge of a federal crime (Trump allegedly asking him to drop the Flynn case). There's also no evidence of the Trump-Russia collusion. It's always "anon sources". And more than all this, Trump is still really popular among GOP voters. Popular enough that if the GOP voted to impeach him, Trump would very easily make it so the GOP never get elected again. (Even if Trump can drain 10% of GOP voters to a 3rd party, GOP is largely over then).

Pence is very anti-gay and as you know the country has moved on from gays being the constant punching bag. If Pence becomes president he will be soundly met with deep resistance the moment he pushes for anti-gay legislation. Other than that, I'd gladly take him as president over this tub of corruption lard we have now. Pence would also get rid of Spicer, Bannon, Conway, Huckabee Sanders and all the other disgusting monsters in the White House. We'd finally be able to get back to discussing ideas and not arguing with irrational people who just want to trash everything in sight.

How do we know Comey wasn't in the middle of putting it all together when he was fired? What if he indeed was going to announce #45 obstructed justice but didn't have enough evidence yet? Was he blackmailed by the possible "tapes" that #45 claims to have? There are so many questions that have not been answered yet. By the way, the uncertainty is having a damning effect on the stock market :blownose:

For 3 months? And even so, Comey shouldn't be investigating it himself. The law is pretty clear here, Comey would have certainly broken federal law, a law in which I suspect Comey knows well. Which is why I'm skeptical the memo even exists. JP Morgan has said a few hours ago that impeachment is "very, very unlikely". Let's not forget, there were no less than 6 attempts/mentions of impeaching Obama by members of Congress.

There has been ZERO PROOF of anything 1) impeachable or 2) improper! Just because you wish it to be true doesn't make it true!

You didn't rebuff anything, you brought up an irrelevant topic that has nothing to do with this current administration. So once again, :ot:

You need condemning evidence to accuse the president of a high crime. You also have to factor in Comey not wanting to appear political, so he very well may have been looking for more evidence before saying anything. Then again, you could be right. Maybe there's nothing there. That's my point. This is ongoing and it is MY OPINION that it will lead to impeachment for POLITICAL reasons, not for the reasons I feel it SHOULD happen. JP Morgan can say what they want, once that doubt sets in everyone else is going to start speculating and some may even panic depending on how worse this week gets.

very time you claim Russia, I will demand the PROOF. And you will continue to give me none. As you have done in the past and just now. So you wanna keep on with this? Go ahead. You have no proof. So go ahead and show me the proof. I will do this until the end of time.
OMG!! Is the end of time here??
P.S. I took the liberty of highlighting and underlining the quote. Luckily this is still America and I can do stuff like that.
