How old where you when you came out?
-
I was 15, to a female bestfriend, who unfortunately judged me immediately.
When I was 25, my parents asked me the nature of my relationship with my boyfriend at that time; whether it is just friend or more than friend. I haven't had the time to answer when my dad added: "If you want to return to the righteous path, we will help. If not, this is no longer your home."
So I went to my room, packed my bag, and left.
;D

I was 17. The first person I told was a friend of mine, also member of the queer community (back then they were considering themself a lesbian, later came out as a trans/genderqueer boy too). Later that day I also told my best friend. After many years, I finally came out to both of my parents this very year. Everything went well and I'm happy I can finally express myself the way I want
It has been a journey, on which I learned a lot, and I'm proud that I did it!Good luck and positive vibes to anyone who plans on coming out soon! No matter the outcome, remember that the first person that should love you is YOU yourself and don't let anyone make you do otherwise!
As for anyone who is not feeling ready yet, patience. A time will come during which you'll be feeling comfortable. Until then, live your life to the fullest possible and love yourself as much as you can!

I came out to both my parents when I was 20. I cried. They told me they had guessed for some time. They even told me that they had friends they knew who were gay. I never figured out who they meant.

I envy you. If my parents were such d-bags, I wouldn't feel so bad for wanting to cut ties with them as I do now.
Oh, and I was 19. My best friend from childhood, straight guy. He didn't give a shit. We just resumed our video games.

Envy?
Nobody deserves parents like this.
14. Gradually of course. Never had a big comeout like posting on facebook or doing a party or whatever. Just people got to know. And it's no longer a thing of 'you have to know something about me', no it's just natural. -

And it would be easier to cut ties with them if they were more like his parents. I did not say anyone deserves such parents.

Yeah I know exactly what you meant by that but I still think it's wrong.
If it's about the parents. I can't put myself in positions like that though I tried so many times. My parents were not keen on me being gay too but I just worked it out. I made them accept me, I was very stubborn, didn't let myself be a victim or smth. My mum is like a church freak so it was hard but eventually I just invited my bf for every weekend and she began to like him. I don't think she still thinks it's okay and is cool with it but at least I stopped hearing things like "one day you'll have a wife" "you'll never be happy" "you're not normal" everytime I was like "well, fuck off" : D But we still love each other. Who would think we made like thousand dumplings together the whole yesterday.
I think sometimes people coming out should stand their ground really hard and be stubborn about everything. But this kind of behaviour will not be able to achieve if you're not fully at peace with yourself. If it's still not working then probably parents ARE total dicks. But that's how it is if someone is treating their child as a duty or an addition. But that's totally offtopic right now. Sorry. -
21… what a shitty year that was...

It was somewhere about 14. And at that time have found out that I'm in scat, too (but this is a story from another book).
I suppose, everyone knows that feeling when you fell yourself alone with your interests (especially in such intolerant to LGBT country as Russia). I felt so. But soon I have realized that I am not and there are a lot of people in my city who have the same problems as I do (humiliating and hating and so on).
I thought in different times (now I am 19) that I am pan- and homosexual. But now I realize that I am bisexual, but men attracting me more.
Thanks for your attention

I was 15 and I had a boyfriend who was 26. There was no drama with family, they just accepted it and we moved on to the next topic…I am very lucky to have had this kind of experience and thankful for the loving and understanding relationship I had with my parents, especially my father. He was the coolest dad ever. :thankyou:
