Advice about Acne
-
Does anyone have any advice to getting rid of acne and keeping it away? I've tried a lot of different things. I don't have it very bad, but its still very annoying.
Thanks for any advice!

I suggest you a consult with a dermatologist:
skin problems may have multiple causes and most of the times they are a symptom of the organism suffering,
a targeted analysis could permit you to solve the problem of acne by solving a possible triggering pathology.
(common with a frequent acne)If your acne is due to temporary causes, stress, nothing serious,
and you still want an effective and aggressive product,
this is the galenic recipe I find most effective on myself:active principles
-
benzoyl peroxide 10%
-
gentamicin sulfate 0.17%
herbal principles (plenty of)
-
rosmarinus officinali leaf oil
-
arnica montana flower extract
-
menthol
some excipients (in order)
-
carbomer
-
camphor
-
glycerin
-
aqua

change your pillow case everyday.

I suffered from the same, very mild case of acne but also found it very upsetting…i went to see my doctor about it, he suggested a very low dosage of acnetane, a generic of roacnetane i think, i take 1 tablet twice a week and all my acne has gone completely, and stays away while taking it...maybe enquire with your medical professional if the same will work for you (if they don't have a better solution)?

I eventually had to take specialist referred pills that reduced it by a lot SO LONG as I was taking them regularly. Other than that there's lots you can do to minimise acne.
1. Wash your face. Wash it often. When you start to feel really greasy and gross, just rinse your face with water or maybe with a little bit of hand soap. Cause the point is to keep your face clean so your pores won't get clogged/
2. NEVER EVER touch your face and for the love of god resist touching your breakouts or breakouts to be. You are only going to dirty your face with your filthy hands and/or push debris further into your pores which can exarcerbate your breakouts. This is also meant to stop you from scratching and damaging your pimples which leads me to my next point.
3. If you get it really bad like I did, you're going to get some scarring, skin breaking frequently isn't going to heal perfectly. But if you pop your pimples yourself, you're just going to make things even worse than you anticipate.
4. Change your pillow case frequently, all the grease and gunk is going to accumulate on your pillow and make you even more at risk so change it weekly. -
if you really want it to go for it forever, ask a dermatoglogist for accutane (but there are quite a few side effects!)
however, it seems that benzoyl peroxide really does work but yr acne will only be away if you use it, once you stop, it will most likely come back :X

Yup, know a few people who tried Accutane. It has some side effects, like dry flaking skin, but overall they're very positive about it.
And besides good hygiene (don't overdo it!); the doctor knows best.

Stop caffeine.
Use a fresh pillowcase EVERY night (you can use a Tshirt over your pillow, and change it daily)
If you are washing your face every day with harsh soap, stop. Use a gentle soap. If you aren't washing your face daily, start.
You need to do all the above for a month at least.

Don't touch your face…best advice ever. Exfoliate gently once or twice a week with a scrub. Wash your face twice a day with a gentle cleanser. Moisturize per your skin type with a non-oil lotion or toner...if it persists still after a month or two...see a dermatologist (also drink more water and make sure you are getting all your vitamins)

Everyone is different, which is why consulting a dermatologist to find the root of your problem is good advice. Personally, I found my acne greatly decreased when I stopped washing my face with soap. My skin seems to want to have some oil on it, and so when I wash my face with soap, the oil production elevates, causing acne. I just wash with warm water now and then use an oil-based moisturizer, like shea butter or coconut butter. There's still occasional eruptions (generally stress related), but it's nothing like before. And I do still use soap on the rest of my body, but nothing too strong or abrasive.
Some of my friends told me changing shampoos or using less product in their hair helped them. Clean clothes, clean sheets, clean pillowcases can all help too. I remember so many guys in college who would never wash their sheets, and thinking back, there did seem to be a correlation to acne.
High levels of testosterone can also increase acne, so working out and building muscle mass can also mean more zits. I think it's generally worth the trade off, but the guys I know who do physique and bodybuilding competitions often have really bad acne even if they are natural. If you frame it in your mind as the price you pay for more muscle mass, that can help you and your partner be more accepting of it even if you can't find a way to get rid of it.

Go to a dermatologist. There used to be a medication for acne that's not good, it was called Accutane or Claravis, Sotret, Myorisan; but I am not sure if they still put people on it? I never took it.

I'd try cutting out dairy. Not everyone is affected by it, but I noticed that whey protein really made my face hurt and caused outbreaks.
-
you need to take caps of Burdock and Nettle everyday . it works.

Stay away from greasy foods. How old are you? It's pretty normal when you are younger. It usually goes away. I'm in my 30's but I still get the occasional zit.

I had terrible acne problems and I still get them from time to time, what helped for me is the following:
- Lukewarm water when cleaning face with a baby soap
- Changing pillow case every three days
- Included all sorts of teas in my diet (organic ones)
- Lowered chocolate intake
- Switched from standard sugar to organic brown sugar
- Started working out
Ever since I introduced these things in my life my acne problems faded away within a year. Sadly it's a long process but it's worth it.
Oh and of course good ol' dermatologist will help but I'm not a big fan of all those chemical creams as they did nothing but make the problem much more worse. -
Wash your face at least twice a day and use a mild or neutral soap (if you overclean your skin it will dry up and your body will produce even more grease to moisten it back)
Wash your pillowcases regularly.
Don't touch your face with dirty hands.
Improve your diet, might help with the acne and overall helps the rest of your body.

Hi. I noticed you had a problem with acne. So did I. I tried everything.
I ran across this product called Proactiv. It's a little pricey, but you can get this stuff in a kit for a reasonable cost.
It did my skin wonders. I also remember hearing a few years back on television, and yes - actual television, a woman doctor advising to pee into the cuffs of your hands while showering and wash your face with your pee and Shea Butter body wash. I have personally done both, and still do both, and my skin has never been clearer. Like you, I've also tried everything. I hope this helps. It sure did for me! -
since most people already said dermatologist imma say something else
some scientist have posited that acne occurs in the first place as an evolutionary trait. they posited that acne occurs as a signal to potential mates that "your" acne is a signal to them that your immune system is not yet mature enough, since your body can't fight the bacteria effectively, hence your acne. further stating that when you no longer have acne is when your body is competent enough immunology-wise to procreate.
sorry couldn't find the youtube vid where it came from.
